That is the reason why I've said as soon as possible because there's no exact time when it will be finished. And even the developers of it are not telling any exact data when it will be finished.

True, it will not die so easily since almost every other Alt coin created on its Network. You might have noticed that Polka Dot that is #4 now on coinmarketcap does the same job what Ethereum does but with better Technology and it is being traded @ $18 now . It has show tremendous growth 800% , in past one year. It has already beaten XRP and lLtecoin. It is going be closet competitor in coming month.

With the introduction of ETH 2.0, the gas fee will decrease because then Ethereum will be moved from proof of work (PoW) to proof of stake (PoS). However, if more and more projects are build on Ethereum blockchain we cannot expect much decrease in Eth gas fee.

When talking about etherium, I don't think that's possible because these altcoins are trusted by investors. Yes, of course, if something bad happens, like what many people see today, Ripple is already indicated as a scam even though it has been running for quite a long time. I don't see any significant difficulty for ethereum to discuss such a topic. The level of capitalization of this coin is very good evidence of its popularity, and the number of tokens issued on its platform, of its relevance. There is a problem with scalability and high transaction fees, but it will be addressed with the already running Ethereum 2.0 updates.
Ethereum remains the leader of altcoins for a long time.

I am a long term supporter  of Ethereum and  know that it is the most trusted network to create smart contracts but the kind of Huge fees for withdrawal and swapping of tokens, we have to nowadays due to slow network or congestion , is going to make it unpopular coin in coming months and other networks like, Binance, EOS, Polka Dot may take its place . The issue with Ethereum is that its developers are trying to scale running Blockchain which is like repairing a car while driving.

Once this eth 2.0 is fully deployed, I believe, there will improvements in their network. And one is, the reduction of the fees. Let's wait a lil bit more. Eth team is one of the solid platforms in the crypto industry because of the development team involved with it. I don't think eth is going to die anytime soon. Maybe, for other thousands of alts out there, with no reason to exist. But for eth, very far from happening at the moment.

Don't spread out FUDs!! Ethereum has no reason to die now. High fees won't lead Ethereum to die. Moreover, we will have Ethereum 2.0, it may bring something good and fix the issue of expensive fees. I am not sure about what Vitalik Buterin will do to deal with many demands of lowering current high fess. But I believe he will do something to make all Ethereum users satisfied and no complaints anymore related to high fees.
