I hope there are no more delays regarding this. based on the article, there is still no definite date regarding when this Libra was actually launched. I just hope that it's not like the previous Libra release news which got into quite a bit of trouble. well, I'm still looking forward to Libra appearing in the crypto world.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

In my opinion, if there is news like this there will be no more delay. Libra has gone through a rough patch against the government, and now it's ready to launch. After Libra launches, we have to prepare for mass adoption.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/facebook-s-libra-to-reportedly-launch-in-january-2021-as-usd-stablecoin

"Following more than a year of scrutiny from global financial regulators, Libra will launch in a form of a United States dollar-backed digital currency, the Financial Times reported on Nov. 27"
If its true for me that is not good, What if the USD price are crashed? Like the gas on the united arab of emirates will drained? What will happen to libra coin? Its better for me to back up on the income of the company I wouldn't imagine the U.S economy will be destroy someday because of what they did in the past 400 years.

It is a good development. It was on Wednesday when I read about their new hire of a General Council to oversee the Libra Network that I had an idea that the launch of the project is going to come sooner than one would expect.

With its 2.7 Billion users worldwide, an eventual successful launch of the payment systems will definitely change a lot in the Fintech space and I can only wish the network success as they move on with the launch.

It's a worthwhile project and I believe it's going to add some value to the cryptocurrency space.

Why don't Facebook apply for traditional banking licences if they want to do traditional banking so much because all libra boils down to is "traditional banking".

They can already add fbcoin wallets to every fb user without needing crypto. Nobody's stopping them.

I don't understand what's their aim.

They will eventually turn to Cryptocurrency if they first opted for traditional banking, they want to beat other big online company that is still on the planning stage, Cryptocurrency is now on every company and organization radar and they will soon dip their hands here, PayPal is the first company to do so, so expect more to come in.

cryptocurrency will not recognized as investment portofolio only , but investors will thought widely and start talking about blockchain technology adoption in their ecosystem. with Libra , i am sure facebook will used it in their own ecosystem to paid any services. if 50% from facebook user use this coin , most of them will understand about cryptocurrency and it is the real value by joining facebook in crypto market by developting their own coin. more giant company developt their own blockchain technology or coin , more people know about crypto . their user basis was be main key for community developtment

I don't know whether Libra will be launched or not. But their approach was wrong from the very beginning. Mark Zuckerberg and David Marcus stole the idea from Satoshi Nakamoto and then without giving any credit to the original inventor, they tried to create a competing product. What they did was very unethical and I won't be surprised if Libra remains in the freezer for the next few decades.

I do think the organization will work very hard to have the Libra project launch. Reason being that they are billions of dollars waiting to be made through the payment system. Facebook saw the potential of the project before pushing it forward. Who wouldn't want to create a payment system that will serve a population that about the size of China and India combined.

As concerns unethical practices, I think the tech world is likely the most unethical industry, I have seen in term of business practices in coding and software development, and Silicon Valley seems to be the headquarters. Was Facebook itself not a product of unethical business practice?

I have a feeling this Facebook project is going to fail, who wants his money to be suspended because of one regulation or not. People yearning for projects like Libra are those that are looking for ways to control the Crypto-market, I just hope exchanges won't jump on this are start listing it for their users

Personally, my view tends to defer from yours. I'm feeling that the project will rather contribute positively to the cryptospace than negatively. This is because it will create more awareness on the blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem among its 2.7 Billion users, thereby increasing the tendency of growing adoption by the traditional business giants and reaching the greater percentage of the unreached populations before.

This is only a prediction and nothing is certain. This is just the announcement from 3 people involved in the development of Libra and there is no official information. In addition, a FINMA spokesperson declined to comment by Cointelegraph on the potential launch of Libra in January 2021, they are still in the process of resolving Libra's proceedings.
So we need to wait a few more weeks for official information. I think the information from FINMA will be more certain than the Cointelegraph.

They can integrate fbcoin wallet as the years going.
Probably the regular updates is possible to improve libra integration.
This is a huge success and new milestone of Facebook if everything happens accordingly.
Pretty sure they aim for global financial and social platform in compact application.

Not necessarily, this is just a prediction, if later Libra able to solve regulatory problems then they will be accepted by Swiss regulatory companies. I hope this Libra case can be resolved as soon as possible, and I also hope that big companies like Paypal and Mastercard can rejoin with Libra.

Since they are not announcing anything yet, they are not yet out of the loop, remember the regulation body it hard for them to launch when they first want to, even if they have a new director, they will go under the knife, so I guess their attitude is that will cross the river when they get there.
It will be good for the community even if it is a stable coin, but this is not a welcomes to investors.

The Libra project has changed so often during these one and a half years that it is not known what is left of it and how it will continue to work.  Earlier at a hearing in the US Senate, Zuckerberg had to agree that the Libra coin would have nothing to do with Facebook.  Later, many of the currencies that the Libra coin would have to provide were also abandoned.  It should also be remembered that earlier the finance ministers of the European Union countries stated that they would not allow the circulation of this coin on their territory.  It looks like Libra will no longer be any different from many existing stablecoins.

It's about time they announced this since people have been hyping this even last year but it's kinda sad that this isn't really what the people want at all. Why would people want Libra when there's already a lot of stablecoins that is usable. Libra is also centralized so it's not going to have much traction now.

Many people sacred to this coin because they think that coin will beat bitcoin without knowing it will not affect to this to the bitcoin.

I already forgot about Libra because during their announcement it's trending online but now I do not see any news about this coin.

I do not know if the launching is successful or it still not launching to the public.

I remember the news been too hype before but it keeps greeting negative review since some question it's credibility that may affects the identity of its user. Now that crypto is indemnd during these Pandemic. More will be curious in these coins. I thought it was already cancelled because it's been long news.

"Following more than a year of scrutiny from global financial regulators, Libra will launch in a form of a United States dollar-backed digital currency, the Financial Times reported on Nov. 27"
Hopefully the new president will be more crypto friendly, I'm happy that Libra is still a thing today, most new projects like this end up in silence once they faced few challenges from SEC, laws and government etc but since Libra is just another stable coin I'm a bit not that into the digital currency

This is very good news for the entire cryptocurrency market! Now it can be used as a driver for the growth of bitcoin above $ 20,000. It's just not clear why they said earlier that they would never release a libra.

If it's true facebook might be following all the rumour about CBDC. Although Libra was first announced but unfortunately facebook don't have the guts to release it and some old people in the office are against the revolution of financial technology.
Although it's not like Libra gonna contribute anything to our lovely decentralized community atleast we have some exposure here.
