Will the rise of altcoins eventually lead to the demise of Bitcoin? Ultimately Bitcoin has been tested and it has a place in the crypto world. Join our  discord https://discord.gg/pp7Jwsp9 for further discussions about this topic. Tell me what you think?

There are lots of potential altcoins these days but as for me, no one would be able to replace it because it has built a strong foundation already. Most altcoins even those on the top rely on the price of Bitcoin most of the time. They could reach some achievements of Bitcoin but they couldn't surpass it.

Everything is possible in the market but I think that bitcoin will remain the most dominant and popular coin till next 10 to 15 years and It will hit 1 million in value for sure if not 10 million and this recent wave of institutional interest and investments is one big stimulus that willcreate more demand for limited btc.
I would not be so categorical and make a forecast for such a long period as 10-15 years and limit myself to five years, for example. Bitcoin acts as a locomotive in the recognition of cryptocurrencies by the real world and all success in this business is usually associated with bitcoin, but there is no guarantee that after universal recognition, a more successful and promoted competitor will not appear Wink But of course, in the near future, I think the position of bitcoin as the number one cryptocurrency will be unshakable.
15 years is truly a long time for digital advancement and by then we probably see so many things new that could replace crypto or crypto itself will be developed up to its peak performance.
Compare year 2000 with 2020 so much things has changed and honestly, I'd never think any altcoin could replace bitcoin but if there's some kind of digital currencies that's gonna compete with crypto or blockchain system, they might have a chance.

Hi,

I do not think it will be replaced, probably some development will have much more characteristics inherited from the Bitcoin code and in value it will exceed it, but Bitcoin will always be present because it is the cryptocurrency "Genesis", the origin of this digital economic revolution.

I never thought that the increase in Altcoins would make Bitcoin die, in my opinion that is wrong, precisely the rise of Altcoins is caused by the high price of Bitcoin there and Bitcoin will never die, because Bitcoin is the heart of all Altcoins. If Bitcoin dies, surely all Altcoins will die and will not be around forever, I think the dispute you mentioned is very wrong and there is no point to dispute about this.

In my opinion yes there is posibilities that there will be an altcoin to replace bitcoin if all or most of bitcoin holders sell their bitcoins to buy that altcoin. But I think it is unlikely to happen because all bitcoin holders have different mindset and different decisions on what altcoins they want to buy with their bitcoin.

Although altcoins are on the rise, nobody can dethrone BTC in the current course. When we watch the BTC movements, altcoins begin to fall immediately at the slightest drop. Likewise, when BTC rises sharply, altcoins are falling again and people are turning to BTC. Currently, no tokens or coins can replace BTC and affect BTC's direction of the market. But none of us can know what will happen in the future.
even if a token, or coin has a better function than bitcoin, or a higher price, it will not guarantee that it will beat bitcoin. I don't understand why either, but the development of bitcoin will affect any altcoin that exists today.

So far at least, i dont see any of the altcoin have a possibility to replace BTC,but who knows what would happen in the future,so that now my answer is might be there is one or more altcoin could defeat the BTC. Whatever there are or there are no such altcoins,BTC is definitely a king in the crypto that it has been proven.

In my opinion, the revival of altcoins has not caused bitcoin to die. For now, Bitcoin remains the most popular centralized virtual currency, however, there is no guarantee that it will remain that way. There are many other altcoins inspired by Bitcoin. It may be assumed that significant development will require new altcoins to overtake Bitcoin in terms of market-building capabilities, although this remains unpredictable.

None of the miracles can down play BTC, actually altcoins price are still dependent on BTC a very few coins can go up when BTC is down but the majority is still dependent on BTC.

I don't agree that altcoins bombarded BTC, I personally think the market is slow and there are no buyers as of now, let's wait patiently.

Why getting members into your discord group chat?, that might not be a good move from you becasue your profile has no reputation that would warrant forum members to trust you. There have been recently malicious and phishing links from discord and won't encourage anyone to get into the link with OP. Bitcoin has a big difference between the altcoins and itself history wise, Bitcoin dominance before now was with a wide margin but recently it has reduced because of the recent altcoins pumping. Bitcoin can't be replace with any shitcoin ever.

I declare that nothing can replace bitcoin as the king of crypto, altcoin is just a clone of bitcoin and its existence comes from bitcoin.
Bitcoin will continue to dominate the market forever and remain the most popular centralized virtual currency, the movement of altcoins will depend on Bitcoin so whatever the reason and the rise in altcoins will not cause bitcoin to die.

it doesn't look like it will happen for a long time. Bitcoin is still too dominating, the gap is too far to be followed.
Definitely, I'd to say not a single chance. Right now the dominance of bitcoin is 62.7% and larger part of us thoughts on BTC whether we're going to create new all the highs or reject by the major resistant levels. Essentially alt market move relies upon Bitcoin move. We would just expect BTC keep developing so odds of altcoin is here zero.

yes I agree with you, I'm not sure if there is an altcoin that can replace the domination of the bitcoin market itself. bitcoin is the top coin in the crypto market, with a high trading volume and every altcoin will also depend on bitcoin. So, I hope that there are only bitcoins in the future. we only have 1 real and don't need any other fake coins.

To substitute one for the other - this things needs to do the same functions but one of them should be much better.
Yes, there are coins better than BTC - you don't have to go far just take ETH and get very fast transactions, take Monero and get 150% privacy.
But at the same time, all these coins do different things for different created and used in different ways. In relation to BTC, it is much more correct to ask the question "will it be eternal" and not whether something can replace it.

I've met thousands of questions like this and I will still answer "NO" because bitcoin is the father of crypto, even the rise of altcoins at this time is due to bitcoin that has experienced a very rapid increase and until whenever bitcoin will never be replaced

It is not really because bitcoin is the father of crypto, it has something to do with the relation of other cryptocurrencies value and bitcoin's. If we'll take a look back on how much other cryptos are affected by the sudden dump of bitcoin, we can clearly see there that no other crypto can ever replace bitcoin. Once its value rises up, other altcoins will also experience bull run that's why many are dependent upon bitcoin's price amidst investing on other cryptos because they know that if bitcoin poses a threat of dumping, all the other will also dump sooner or later.

If you speak of replacing Bitcoin on price level, there are already several altcoins which are higher in price than Bitcoin. But if you meant replace Bitcoin as a coin, nah! Bitcoin is the pathfinder of the crypto industry and it simply means "No Bitcoin, no cryptocurrency." Any day Bitcoin proves to be worthless, that's the same day the entire cryptocurrency industry will collapse.

That will not happen anytime soonest based on the current dominance of BTC. Until we start seeing some takeoff from BTC dominance, we can start to look at the probability but that will be in many years to come as people are more confident in BTC that any alternative coins

Bitcoin still dominates the cryptoqurrency market today. If there is to be an altcoin to replace bitcoin, it will depend on the extent to which the world community accepts this cryptocurrency widely. Bitcoin is currently superior in every way and I'm not sure if any altcoin will ever replace bitcoin completely.

Bitcoin is still increasing every day in the market, despite what people are saying that it will soon dump for another cryptocurrencies to take over before 2020. Many bitcoin investors rate bitcoin as the king among other cryptocurrencies because is still pumping in the exchange market.
