Some VPNs claim to delete logs after each session, so worst case scenario a hack will expose your real IP and some payment details used to subscribe. You don't have to use your real name and address if you pay with Bitcoin, like I did, so all the service provider has is my old bitcoin address (that's empty now), my fake name and an email address created just for this purpose.

I personally don't use a VPN because I don't really need it because my country is not restricting the websites I'm mostly using, I also believe that VPN does create a fake idea of security over the actual risk of using VPN. As a crypto user we know that some exchanges and casinos are now including that they prohibit the use of VPN in their TOS, So using VPN would actually make you and your funds in potential danger.

If you only need some privacy, It's better to just use TOR than some random VPN that shouts that they are FREE. It's a bad move if you are using a VPN when dealing with your assets.

I don't use any VPN anymore ever since I got into crypto and this is the exact same reason why.
Besides I don't have any reason to use it since I am earning already why would I try to risk my data or information to it.
I was using VPN before to have a free access to internet but I also know the risk that they could be storing our information with it.

For me? Nah Huh Shocked I no longer trust these VPN services or whatever and moreover I don’t even like them, even their user interfaces are usually pretty messed up. Everything about them always seem suspicious and there is no doubt that they are stealing information when you’re making use of them.

Another reason why I don’t bother with VPN any longer is because I don’t see the need for making use of them since I really don’t have anything to hide. Take for example when I am sending Bitcoin, why would I be needing a VPN? It’s not like I am doing some bad business Roll Eyes.

If you are in a country where there are restrictions regarding crypto activities there is nothing you can do than to use a vpn to access the restricted places,
People who find themselves in this situation don't have much choice unfortunately, I don't believe all the vpn service providers will act same, am sure some of them will to their word and protect users privacy, and I agree about decentralised vpn, if they are available it will be a better option otherwise you make do of what is available.

I agree.

Looks like OP lives in a country like that. But using a VPN because let's say OP lives in a country in which banned bitcoin, declared it illegal, is not worth the risk at all. As what OP said, using a VPN is not really safe when it comes to your Bitcoin and to your current location, it's like looking for your own headache. Imagine, the police could trace you or the developer of the VPN you've used could expose all of the data of its user including you.

Your bitcoin could be gone, and you could be in jail for breaking the rules.

A VPN isn't really necessary when you feel safe and no one is stalking you.  Using a VPN must look at the function you want to use, which is to encrypt your data when surfing the internet.  Another reason is also because some websites are blocked and need a VPN to be able to access normally again.  The most dangerous risk of using a VPN is the use of a free VPN that is used by many people and not just you.  if you want to use a VPN service, you should use a premium VPN which is safer and only you access it.  VPN usage is also not the reason that business is bad, there are other reasons behind using a VPN.

In fact, we use VPN to surf the web anonymously. Just as there are advantages to using VPN, there are also some disadvantages. If you use VPN, your activity logs are saved in the VPN provider's database. They use browsing cookies features to collect information about the user. So, your VPN provider is not trusted, it is better not to use their service anymore.

like everything else VPNs also have their usages that means both advantages and disadvantages. TOR has always been a pain in the ass for me, it is also so much slower and visiting half the internet becomes almost impossible on it since everyone nowadays is using the shitty cloudflare protection that is always banning TOR visitors by sending them on an endless mission of "image clicking". that means even though VPN has its disadvantages, if i needed increased privacy i would go for a proper VPN.

There is a FOMO brewing...

Personally I don't fully trust VPNs, yeah they can be good at times, but that doesn't mean I trust them to secure my data, I remember when I tried using VPN to access a particular site, since my country was restricted from there, i was able to gain access at first and then later I still got banned, meaning it couldn't cover my tracks, from my end the only VPN that can assure you anonmity is TOR, I think its way better than most VPNs out there.

No. I don't think you understand how a VPN works. They are not meant to "secure your data" all; they do is mask your traffic so your ISP can't see what is going on. They can still see you are using a VPN though.
Just because 1 VPN didn't work for you doesn't mean they all are. Which VPN did you use? A VPN doesn't cover your tracks but rather obscures them. The tracks are there but you cannot see what they are.
You got a ban because the website knew you were using a VPN. WEbsites will tell you at the beginning or in their terms or even their FAQ that you will be banned for a VPN. You would also get banned while using TOR.
Who says it is better than most VPNs out there? If that was true I would be using it to stream USA content.

i was looking for the name of popular vpn's on the pic of your post but i cant find any of them . what is on the pic are all non popular vpn and i dont use them . no wonder why people got thier data stolen because they love using any softwares that they found on the web but those vpn's are honest because they show what they are getting from the people that use thier service . i dont think high class vpn can do that and i dont see a simillar pic that they release  . im safe because i dont use vpn whenever i transact important matters .

That's why we shouldn't use those unknown free vpn's since we never knew what the developer put on their data and might they are just phising our informations and to scam or their users. I used paid vpn and so far for 7 years of using it I never encounter any serious issue so I think the danger will vary depends on your selected vpn provider.

There are many betting locales which are restricted in my nation and our government imagines that it's terrible for our general public. I just use a VPN to get to these sites so I can wager my cash there. I believe that some VPNs store the information, and have full access to our devices. I never use a VPN to get to my wallets since I utilize the equipment wallets and store my triumphant wager there.

It's true but if a users not into gambling then maybe he can use it tho, as long as his exchange site his using are not that too sensitive when it comes of VPN, therefor those country who's illegal from using bitcoin i think they can safely use bitcoin as long a it is private, Somehow i use vpn for some purposes reason but then i always reads those reviews and recommendation this is much more important for a safety of you information because once they knew maybe they will hack you and rob all your bitcoin.
