Do you rely on the odds when placing bets?

Ofcourse. That's probably what most sports bettors failed to do (doing their own research). I guess they think the odds are enough. Or maybe they don't know how to go about it, or think  research won't change anything because "betting is luck-based".
 A bettor who has enough information on teams past/current forms could easily do better than those that only rely on site odds.    I think I'd compare my researched information with site odd and see which is more reliable.

It is very well known that sport betting is one of the few casino games that can be beaten regularly by players, this is difficult of course but if you have a lot of knowledge about a sport it can be done as you will be able to recognize when the odds do not correspond with the reality and win slightly more often than chance and get better odds as well giving you profits in the process, obviously casinos do not like this and if they discover you they will limit your account but thankfully there are thousands of casinos online where people can use their skills and keep profiting from sports bets.

I didn't expect much to win that bet, but I thought "Okay, it won't be the end of the world if I lose." But I won, and it feels so good.

To win that amount with 1.1 odds I should have risked 46k sats, $16+ today, not something I would be okay with losing. And those bets with high probability of winning are tricky: even if you bet on a very strong team, you can always get a draw and lose your bet as a result.

It's definitely correct, there's no easy way to win, betting odds speaks about probability to win, and it does not guarantee that you'll win.

There are two disadvantages to this kind of betting:

1. If you win, your win is small compared to the size of your bet;

2. It is very upsetting to lose, when the probability of winning was 80%-90%.

Be careful because that prediction will not always work as if one club or team can perform better, it could change the situation from bigger odds to small odds. Maybe you need to search for more info about the team and not only their match because the other player can replace by the other, which can affect the team performance. If the player is on badminton or a game like that, we can search for their record or history to know how good they played before.

Agreed, If you care at all about winning the bets that you placed on a match you have to absolutely know both teams very well and only the history of previous matches between the two teams are not going to be enough for you, unfortunately many gamblers are getting used to betting on a team winning without having much information about the team personally, I know some people that even bet on leagues or sports that they have no experience betting on or even watching which is really not advised to do.

This weekend there was a good opportunity for in-game bets with the game Ajax - PSV. PSV came on 0-2 after 21 minutes.

Its just normal.! Experienced or not, we do rely on seeing or checking those odds first before making bets because you can eventually differentiate which one is favorite and which one isnt.

You would really be needing sufficient analysis when choosing up your bets and you cant just fully rely into this kind of indication because not all will really be winners.

All that I said, I don't only read it, I learn it from actual experience, so I can really confirmed myself that not such bet as a sure bet. Even at 1.01 betting odds, it's still not sure thing to win, you need to have at least a lot of experience on low betting odds in order to prove it yourself, I'm glad you learn anyway.

All that I said, I don't only read it, I learn it from actual experience, so I can really confirmed myself that not such bet as a sure bet. 1.01 doesn't really mean 100% chance of winning and I do see that even with this odds do still lose and that really indicates that nothing is really a sure win.

We cant really just deny that we do make out some presumptions and analysis with just seeing the odds. Favorite are always in favored to win but not all the times

If they are doing that for entertainment purposes and they have their gambling habit under control then I do not really see anything wrong with it, however if they are actually expecting to make profits out of those bets then your friends are due a rough awakening as it is known that if you want to become a professional sport bettor you need to know a lot about the sport in which you are betting otherwise you have no chance to beat the house in their own games.

Sometimes that our favorite team of our will drive us to more loses, mostly favorites has lower odds, sometimes it gives 1.50 and lower, that means at a minimum, you need to win 3 games betting on your favorites in order to get more than 100% of your bets, and that is not attractive IMO.

Now, if you are trying to balance the odds like getting 1.85 to 2.00, you need to take the point spread which is also tricky as not all favorites covers the spread, they sometimes keep winning the game but failed to cover the spread.

think that everything already in place shit still happens.
