Scammers have now gone advance and using all means to perpetrate their actions. A few days ago I saw myself in some fake groups of real crypto projects while they are claiming to do giveaway for partnership reasons, Christmas seasons and so on. One thing that made me aware was that report spam was placed on the group which was unusual immediately I opened it and went to check for their original groups and it was different. I saw many giving testimonies of having received the claimed giveaway offers which I am sure it's a game from their co-scammers. An innocent individual might fall for it. Please let's beware and take cautions, report any fake group that you find yourself in as spam.

That's why in the first place we shouldn't click any unknown messages because it could direct you to spammers around the web. What's more dangerous is that if you have clicked a phishing site and got all of your private information. I only had three groups in my telegram, the one that I am doing bounty hunting so if ever the contract will be finished, i will immediately leave the group. It's better to take precautions than regret in the end. I felt that regrets way back 2017 and it hurts a lot.

Telegram scammers come in different forms, the most effective way to avoid telegram scam is to tune up your telegram security settings, make sure you don't receive PM from people first and also make sure that you can't be added to any unknown group by others, these two settings are available in your telegram settings

That is definitely true, as many of the users has some problems with security they easily fall into this scams. I think making our internet more secure and more resistant to prying eyes should always be our main priority if we are going to spend most of our time in cryptocurrencies. You can have programs that scans for malware, browsers that block popups and automatic relay giving to big tech like google and microsoft. Being knowledgable on internet security and how to make your computer secure will help you in the long run.

Thanks for your advice, this scam trick is not new,Although the scam is old-fashioned, some people still fall into the trap,my method is setting My contacts can add me to groups and channels, the default is Everybody, this way we can avoid being pulled into a new telegram group at random.

That is one of the things we should be aware of. But basically, there's no way we can really verify the legitimacy of the telegram group unless its link was posted on the website of the project itself. But if we are joining telegram groups from another telegram group, then we should be extremely careful as I have an experience with a project, it was already a long term project but there's a telegram group stating that the project is launching its presale. What happened is that the development just faced too many delays in their promises and I just lost 0.8 ETH. This should serve as a lesson for us to always verify everything starting from the website, down to a project's community channels.

This is why it is advantage for us to be in this forum because we can get different ideas and learn from each other espcecially to aware scam and other fraud activities.

Anyway, there are many scam telegrams actually if we will going to include those telegram channel of the ICO projects into which until now their channel are like a ghost town or a markt for those scammers that are active posting scam sites and etc. like phishing sites.

I often get giveaway notification from various Bounty telegram group or Airdrop telegram group.  Well this trick is the one most often used by scammer to trick crypto players.  The best solution to prevent you from falling into the trap of a scammer is simply pressing the button report him as spam like I often do or you can block the contact.

The main thing is not to give your data to anyone.  And then to be careful, only through their carelessness, those who recently use telegram will come across.  If you are new to crypto, all the more you need to be careful, check everything, if something is not clear or strange, google how best to proceed and what actions should be taken.

yes, scammer is currently very hype, I think this situation have been around for a long time, so for those of us (airdrop, bounty or giveaway hunter) who are experienced must remain vigilant, usually airdrops or giveaways that ask for rewards first are mostly scams.

Yeah, there are lots of them already we need to avoid such kinds of groups from adding us to their fake groups we need to adjust our privacy setting and not let anyone add us. Especially those who already put their telegram usernames in the bounty spreadsheet there are lots of possibilities that they already collected so we need to change it as we can see in the image below.

Change it to "My Contact" so that no strangers can add you to any fake telegram groups.

Such fraudulent strategies are familiar and it is true that it is their marketing one to deceive their victims, and they usually use them based on market trends, environmental conditions (Christmas, Chinese New Year, etc.) and people are often tempted by offers too high. my advice, always be careful before making a decision.

There's really a lot of spam here. They're setting up groups like this to dust us off, so I think J. Please refrain from any exchanges with such groups because they are looking for opportunities to earn money through this fake group. There is. If you want to do something with this idea group, you will find their official website like Facebook and Twitter. This is from my general experience

This problem often occurs when we don't join telegram groups at all and suddenly there are lots of spam messages in your group. this is a common method they use for scams, they collect data about people's telegram users, and what I didn't like when I came across a group of paid members of up to tens of thousands of users to convince clients. it is often used for the ico bouny group.

It is a conventional tactic that was implemented in fraudulent applications and websites to entice the interest of people to participate. They disseminate falsity of the information, hoping that they could make-believe and fleece people with the use of such bait. Anyone could be the potential victim; thus, it should be reported immediately. With the Christmas season approaching, there could be any other fraudulent activities that may exist not only in telegram but on different platforms. Hence, we should learn to analyze the difference between a real testimony and white lies. Usually, in such circumstances, they share insufficient details, yet you will see those testimonies as if they are the creator of the giveaway.

yes there are many types of scams in telegram groups, in the form of giveaway, airdrops, offers that don't make sense, etc. I'm not even sure if the group has thousands of real members. and I guess it could be like a member bot. they chat with each other like a team and it turns out they are actually con artists. I've always researched and been careful with this kind of group.

Another thing that these scammers do is create a bounty that they will have to manage themselves then somewhere along the way, they might require you to submit unnecessary requirements or even requirements that were not there to be submitted in the first place like KYC's. It's also a good thing that Telegram would indicate a Group Chat would be full of scammers once they receive enough reports or complaints from that group so we better do our best to keep reporting unnecessary group chats.

Telegram group chats has been a big issue a long time ago that scammers has been creating duplicate and fake telegram group chats in different crypto projects to conceive many investors and bounty hunters to steal their information and funds. It is why you should report Telegram Groups who randomly adds you in their channel.

Very right! Not so long time ago, I only asked something in Binance and Kucoin official telegram groups regarding XRP withdrawal, and didn't expect that a lot will send you DM asking if I need any help and they are using kucoin official admin, or something like that, having the logo of the exchange. I know already this kind of scheme, so I blocked them all and also telegram groups adding you automatically, so what I did with all of them is Report it as a spam. Because there's an option that you can report them as a spam. For users that will send you unsolicited messages, block them before they can make a move of offering their scam service. The exchanges already mentioned that they will never send first a message.
