When Do You Take Profit From Your Altcoin Bags?

I always look for the potential of the coin that I'm holding and learn about its possible movements. I always make sure to buy when the price is low and set a target goal. Once I reach my target price after holding, I usually sell my alts because sometimes being too greedy or expecting more could lead to regrets in the future.

Yeah, that is one of the most important things in managing your trade to have an exit point because without there's a tendency that you might fall into greed and lose all your stash. And before trading on a certain altcoin, I also make sure that I make research on it so I don't lose or just to mitigate it. Actually, there are times I've been going on a trend like when I take the profit from my altcoins I will reinvest on Bitcoin which is currently in the rally right now.

with the current market price, the level gives of 4 times on my token to rise with the new price but i have not comes with idea to sells as might with the future the price still improves and gives of more on spares of difference that i better to keep wait.

Most cases of losing investment is being greedy.

Instead of taking profits you think that the value will ris for more and eventually you'll realize that you missed the ride and the price start to fall, best thing to always do is to have your set goals, both with profits or loses you should have  a set plans to avoid losing your money and regrets that you missed the opportunities to take good amount of benefits from the projects/coins that you invested in,.

I think holding an altcoin for a very long time even after it goes up super high has other options then being greedy. Obviously there are some greedy people who want to see it go higher and higher and forget to sell and when it crashes they lose money, however there are people who believe in the future of the project as well who will let it be too.

Personally I have few alts where I keep it and I will continue to keep it and I will not sell it, mainly eth and bnb has been awesome and I do not care if they do 10x more from here, and I am serious if ethereum becomes 10k dollars, I will still hold it, because I believe in the future of it and non-stop increase of it, so I want to leave some to my children as well when I die. So, not selling is not always about money, it is about principle and goal of keeping it as long as you do not need it.

when I feel that it is a suitable price, then I will sell it. after that I might hold it, or invest in something else. well, for altcoins, I might think about it again, because if the price is still pumping after that, I will wait for the price to fall back down to think of the next strategy. however, what I usually do after selling the assets I own is invest in real estate.

Before taking profit in altcoins I first consider the type of altcoin it is, thus will decide on how big I will go for the profit. Assuming I am holding a coin like Ethereum, once I am in profit, I take the profit alone while leaving the rest for long term holding, while if it is in the case of other altcoins such as new altcoins, once in profit I will sell everything where 50% of the profit will be going into Bitcoin and the rest for another altcoin good at that moment. Talking about USDT is when I am investing for short term, that is, once in profit I sell to USDT and use it for trading as well. And in addition, I buy Bitcoin when the price retraces not when it is high and as for altcoins, I hardly go into new altcoins because many of them gives concerns while my top altcoins are Ethereum and ADA which are kept for long term.

I am a short term holder. I don't target a very big percentage of profits. If I see my crypto coins already reach more than 50% improvement, I often sell the coins. Then, I buy again the coins when they are in a correction or move to other coins for new assets. This is my humble strategy for now and quite effective for me.

It's always good to take profit, it's better to sell in profit than because of stopping losses. I also sell some ETH when it pumps same with some altcoins when their in profit since it's not something that always happen. I just make sure to always left some of top alts or altcoins that are still improving in their product. Having BTC and ETH to hold is still my priority.

Generally, be smart when dealing with the altcoins market becasue they are not stable in nature. Some of these altcoins are pump and dump coins which need more smart guys in terms of profit taking, sometimes my altcoins bags or portfolios with 6% are set for profit taking becasue of my personal lessons i learnt from the past. Altcoins are good to take profit early and later reinvent when the price dip.

Better to reserve my answer for when the alts time is upon us, I don't want to jinx anything  that's because am overly prepared for the alts season, I hope the way people speculate a big alts season it will happen eventually, I was a bit disappointed as many alts didn't follow the btc uptrend, the year is just starting and there are many months before end of year, hopefully something positive will happen.

You question seems to be too general to me, I understand that you want to learn and in order to learn you need to ask questions but before you do that it is better to try to learn by reading a few books about trading, and if you do you are going to find many systems about how to take profits from any asset not only altcoins, for the most part one of the most popular ways to take profits is to set a level before you even make a trade of where you want to sell then once that level is reached you sell immediately.

I used the option choosing BTC or USD but after I sold it I prefer to convert to BTC. because in my opinion BTC is clearer than to other altcoins, so I often use it and then sell it into money

I dont have any strategy, i simply hold it as long as i dont need it. Its not good i think, but sometimes i feel hurt after sell then price x2 x3.
Especially for low liquidity coins, it will just dump your coins if you sell all your coins, so sometimes i just sell 10%-25% to make profit of it, and buyback when the price is lower.

Altcoin/USD  pairs aren't really that common that's why Alt/btc will be the common target for most people.Whats the strategy? sell when in profits as usual.

Percentage will vary on each person because we do have our goals and targets. For me, it will be on random and on the time I do see it to be okay then I do immediately sell.

When it comes to btc accumulation then I do diversify in some alts and the rest would be hold up for long term.

Dude, the future of the project can't be determined easily and i should remind you that there are a bunch of coins already dead even they look like the promised projects when they were launched.

What about if your coin buying have lower price and keep waiting until price is up, do you wanna try for cut loss and how many months or year you will be patient waiting for your coin up? for me if loss chance for coin back to higher price better I cut loss and looking for other coins maybe give me profit and could recovery with my loss before.

the huge profit I experienced when I invested in TWT altcoins in those days the price was very cheap and I took the opportunity to buy when I saw the development getting better and better, I keep hold TWT  and at the end, of the TWT pump is so very high even gave me a profit many times over

because with technical analysis you can understand how to enter or exit the market, even when your predictions going to wrong directions, wich mean you will know when the right time to cut your loss short buddy

Exactly, technical analysis is a very powerful tool, it is not going to allow you to predict what the market is going to do all the time but it is going to allow you to make reasonable predictions of what the market can do in the future and if you pair technical analysis with good money management then sooner or later you will make profits, this is why I recommended the OP to read a book or two about the subject before asking questions because it is going to be almost impossible for us to cover the basics of technical analysis in a forum post.

I think you are too hasty to buy so you are not aware of the charts in the market but don't worry because when the altcoins season comes you will get profit, all you have to do now, hold on and be patient, don't panic too much
