the better one is of course bitcoin because this is the father in crypto but if you only have $ 100 you should still choose ethereum as an investment
but if you are investing large amounts of course bitcoin is the main choice
I do not agree with this, you may get more ethereum if you invest in it as it is cheaper but which coin has the bigger chance of giving you more profits should be the question you ask yourself, and it is clear the answer is bitcoin, despite is huge size bitcoin has grown more than ethereum and that is because institutional investors are not interested in ethereum at all and as long as that is the case bitcoin with all things being equal will always grow more than ethereum.

100 bucks is a small amount to split between these 2 top currencies. but it is possible if the OP wants to diversify his funds. but he needs to strategise as he may be losing a lot in terms of fees involved. whatever he decides, he should weigh those suggestions and study it on his own terms.
both are on top so for me, they are both worth investing your money.

Both bitcoin and Ethereum are very profitable for investment , but if I should choose between them I would choose bitcoin over Ethereum, cause bitcoin's ROI is higher than any other cryptocurrency out there, so I would definitely invest that $100 in bitcoin, Ethereum is also profitable but definitely not as much as Bitcoin can give you, buying bitcoin is always the best choice of investment.

If I had $100 maybe I would invest in bitcoin, but I see ethereum is also great for long-term investments other than bitcoin.
You can see the movement of the coins in the market which is very potential and give a profit to those who hold them.

What do people think? Is it better to invest, say, 100 dollars in ether or bitcoin?

If you have $100, you should just choose eth.  Because to buy coins there is a minimum limit. If you buy eth you will earn more coins. If your bitcoin investment does not necessarily meet the minimum amount specified for the investment.

Personally, if I had $ 100, then I would be more likely to go with ethereum for that. however, ethereum's modest rise could have a big effect on us when ethereum prices rise. I think the Ethereum price increase will be driven by 2 things, namely the increase in the price of bitcoin and also the increase in the price of Ethereum itself. however, if you have a large amount of capital, choosing both is the most appropriate. However, if I have not much capital, I will still choose ethereum.

Both of them is so good for a long term investment.
Maybe you can split ur investment to both of that coin, untill now i still investing in bitcoin and i dont even think to sell it in the near future.

If you need more returns on investment then you can purchase ethereum and keep it for long term. Bitcoin can 2x-3x in the mid term but eth can easily go to 20,000$ in this bull market which means it can do 15-20x in mid term.

If i have $100 i will put it on bitcoin or polkadot than ethereum, i know ethereum break its all time high, but it is too risky since ethereum 2.0 is still in development and its pure gambling. Polkadot has better opportunities to growth, or i will choose a new legit ICO to make huge profit.

The fund you have is small enough that's you could not get a good return .If you really want to invest on you just make your fund healthy then you can invest any of this coin .I think Both are the best Blockchain platform ever .If you choose alt and surely it will be eth where you can put your fund .

That doesn't make a difference a great deal which coins that you wanna pick from your rundown consider Ethereum has its own favorable position over bitcoin and in any case bitcoin. I think I am more with Bitcoin on the off chance that I am doing a drawn out venture while on momentary speculation is ETH. Alt coin like Eth are more unpredictable than Bitcoin so it would be more proficient for the time being.

cut your money pool in two parts and invest in ethereum and bitcoin. both of them are growing. with different speed and in maybe different periods but they both give profits.

Both of these coins have increased 2x - 4x from 2020, to be honest for myself I don't recommend buying these two coins for this time,
because the new all time high has been achieved for Ethereum and Bitcoin, of course the risks we have to face are much bigger Instead of investing in other coins, this is how if you want to invest and buy Ethereum or Bitcoin you have to buy it at the bottom and have the stop lose.

Yes, you are completely right, I would add that the technologies are also completely different and the development will take place depending on the advancement of these technologies in the near future. In terms of diversification, I totally agree.

for long term investment
just use the ratio of 50:50
because both of them are quite potential

you need to understand that both of them reached ATH just a while ago. so to get a big profit it takes time, or under certain conditions there are rumors and very good news.

I am often confused about this kind of question because there are many factors that need to be clarified.
I think it is better to strengthen knowledge about investment strategies in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, learn to analyze the market and coins or tokens. So you can determine which one is suitable for short and long investments.

Maybe what you say is true and before investing, of course we have to research first,
and if the choice is bitcoin or ethereum maybe we can invest in both,
especially if you see the development of the two coins, it certainly makes us interested in investing,
but after all it all depends on individual decisions

Ethereum is the king of altcoins while bitcoin is the king of all coins. So both are good. The most important thing is that traders
and investors have to buy both ethereum and bitcoin when the price is low. This is better if you want to make a big profit in investment.
If you are a little patient wait until the price of both coins drops in price, when you want to buy. Because such conditions are better.

Always choose Bitcoin if you can.

The explanation is short and simple. It's because altcoins always follow Bitcoin with crashes. They can pump on their own but they will always crash with Bitcoin so it's much safer to own Bitcoin even if you can make a bit more money on some altcoins.

Once you get Bitcoin you can speculate with ETH or anything else.

Your fund is very small, but you can make investing. Bitcoin is the king and in the long run, it's a good investment. Ethereum is queen and it's called a smart computer also. So investment in ethrerum is also good. First, try to open a safe and secure wallet and after buy bitcoin or ethereum try to withdraw those funds to your personal wallet. Because not your key, not your funds.

The best decision on investing your 100 dollars is to just invest it on both Ethereum and Bitcoin, you can do 50-50 when you invest so it wont be much of an Impact when a bubble pops on one of the two which is not that impossible to happen coz "history repeats itself" imo. Both are big projects anyways so it will surely give you a good profit in no time specially right now that its volatility is fast and huge.

Just dont forget to buy when there's a correction, do not buy when its hitting a pump, its pump always has a correction to follow which is a good timing to buy and fill your bags. As you can see BTC price recently goes down to 28k and pump to its new ATH and currently at 33k..
While ETH price also pump to its new ATH from its recent dip to $1200 and currently at $1400.

If you are going to compare both price, you'll see how volatile bitcoin really is compared to Ethereum but both are good investments specially for swing trades these days.
