What do people think? Is it better to invest, say, 100 dollars in ether or bitcoin?
Bitcoin is always better, first coin on everyone's list when they start trading. Investing $100 now, you could make a few million dollars many years later. |

You mentioned the first and second top coins of cryptocurrencies which is bitcoin and ethereum for me both are good investment. Why not diversify your 100 $ 50% to bitcoin and 50% to ethereum and hold it for long term like 5 to 10 years. There is a saying dont put your all eggs in one basket because if one fail then you have hope to another one.
Diversifying is a strategy that is used to try to protect your capital, however if bitcoin were to drop significantly in value or even disappear, something that is not going to happen but that I am putting forward just as an example, then what are the chances that ethereum or any other altcoins survives? And I think that the answer to that is zero, as such there is no point diversifying in this market and if you are going to invest in one coin then invest in bitcoin and forget about all the other ones. |

Bitcoin has a lower coin supply and is more liquid than Ethereum, but Ethereum has better technology and provides more uses than Bitcoin does.

It depends on how you compare these projects. Thanks to bitcoin, we generally have a cryptocurrency market and blockchain technology. I don't like the big fees when transferring Ethereum or Bitcoin. I believe there are many other underrated projects with fast and cheap translations! I think Bitcoin is a good investment to make, Ethereum is good too, but based on growth levels Bitcoin is more likely to level up than Ethereum. You can compare the both of them with the current bull run we have seen; Bitcoin was able to beat its last ATH price and reached twice the price, while ether was not able to do that. So if the $100 was invested in Bitcoin it would yield more returns on investment than Ethereum would do. Another thing is to understand the market and know when you should buy and sell, buying at the right time means more profit for you, and try to sell at the right time. |

You're right, the potential for Bitcoin in price development issues is huge compared to Ethereum. the real problem is that bitcoin is currently quite expensive, while ethereum is still affordable, and the potential for developing ethereum from bitcoin pairs is still quite large. So, I think if you have not that much money, Ethereum could be the first choice. |

Bitcoin is always not only the better cryptocurrency but the best. It is the most popular, most adopted and most accepted cryptocurrency in the world. A look at the Cryptocurrency market price easily shows that all other cryptocurrencies follow the market price trend set by the Bitcoin. Of course bitcoin without any doubts. That is the most profitable investment in crypto universe and there isn't any prediction it's going to change for now. Even if you are going to buy few satoshis it will worth on long run, so don't worry about holding less coins if you buy bitcoin instead of ethereum. Quantity means nothing in most cases here, quality does, and that is why you should pick bitcoin.
I'm not saying Ethereum isn't good and proof of that are the many interesting projects attached to its platform, what justifies its position in the market, but it's still an altcoin, while bitcoin is king and the original source of all crypto currencies. Futurely, when you have more money to invest you can diversify your funds and split a percentage to altcoins. In this case I highly suggest you to hold some eth.

Both ethereum and bitcoin are different coins which offers different features. You can't compare both the coins and say which one is better as they both have different use cases. They both are excellent and better than most of the altcoins.
If you are talking about which coin is better to invest in, then go for both. Split your investment so you don't miss out on any. But people say that Ether is highly undervalued. But then again, we can say the same for bitcoin too.

ETH won't be the same as the pricing of bitcoin. There's a huge difference from its supply and market and it will never happen. What's ETH competitor isn't Bitcoin but other altcoins that are on the ranking that seems to be quick in going up. Bitcoin is day by day increasing. But ETH is slowly increase the price. Time to invest the bitcoin.
Wrong and misleading about bitcoin, it is not day to day that bitcoin is increasing but if we'll sum it up. In the long run, bitcoin will still increase despite many corrections that will come. |

The better thing that you should do is buying other altcoin which still have a low price but have a good price movement/potential. You have to find the coin which have a good fundamental, your $100 will be $500 in a week at this situation. Like a few days ago when IOST get pumping. I bought this coin for $70 at saturday and I hold the coin for one week, do you know how much profit that I got? It is arround $700, although I use a large laverage to do that, but it still worth. I prefer to choose other altcoin beside ETH if I have a little money and also I just choose short term investment. |

Wrong and misleading about bitcoin, it is not day to day that bitcoin is increasing but if we'll sum it up. In the long run, bitcoin will still increase despite many corrections that will come. kramat needs to analyze more about what's happening in bitcoin market. You can't expect continuous increase in bitcoin's price. At some point, it will go down. So it is a matter on how you strategize your trading to take advantage of the market. Yeah, that's what I'm telling it and that's why when I've seen him saying that it's increasing day by day. That's really misleading although in the long run, we would agree that bitcoin will have a good price but it's not that coming in an instant and each day is unpredictable.
