Manny Paquiao VS Connor McGreggor?

I was looking for future possible fights in boxing where I can bet and stumble upon this news. apparently, both side has been in talks of possible fights between Pacquiao and McGreggor.

I am a huge fan of boxing and seeing great boxing fighters with decades of experience fighting amateurs(yes, consider McGregor an amateur at least in the boxing world) is really disappointing and is derogatory to the sport. but I'd still watch the fight though. can't pass a Pacquiao fight especially when he can retire at any moment now due to his age.

It seems like that McGreggor is prepared to be quite busy this year. Tried to dig quite a bit, and it seemed like there were talks about the fight already way back in September already, but sadly it wasn't pushed that much. Now though, it looks like it's back on talk again and the manager himself (Auddi Attar) is pretty sure of it. I don't watch much boxing, but hell if Manny is in, then I'm going to watch the hell out of it. I'm not that offended with how pros fight amateurs tbh, since hell, as you said, you can't really pass up on these kinds of fights even if it was like that.

Imo, McGreggor just wants to make more money, like he did with his fight against Floyd Mayweather, there was no way he was going to win Floyd, at least not in a boxing ring, if it were in the octagon, then Floyd would stand no chance, but McGreggor is of course content with losing in a boxing ring and making the money he made.

Having said that, I think that's the same situation with this possible fight with Manny, it's about the money for McGreggor, I don't think he stands a chance against Manny Pacquiao in a boxing ring.

This is a speculation that is going on for a while and even during the recent media interviews Conor McGregor responded about the speculation when asked by reporters. If the fight is to take place Dana White and the UFC should give Conor McGregor the approval.

getting attention isn't always good especially when a great fighter with decades of experience and excellent record fought a fighter with one professional fight which is a lose. sure McGregor is a great fighter in MMA but in boxing, he is still an amateur I'd be more impressed if he started at the bottom and made his way to the top and fights great boxers and I'd be more than happy to watch his fights just like on MMA. the reason why I said it is derogatory is these kinds of fights just shows the sport has become more of an easy money grab for popular people and is lowering the standard of who can fight who.

It is disappointing, but these days, promoters are also after the money that they can generate for a specific fight. It is a mismatch in boxing and this is more of like an exhibition match. But if a lot of people clamour for it and these promoters see the potential money, they will push thru this fight. Now, it depends on the fighters if they will at least give a good fight inside the ring.

Isn't Pacquaio old anymore for the kind of fight?  There could be a lot of negotiation before the fight will be pushed just like Mike and Jones recently.

Its money for both of the fighters though when it comes to crossover fight like this so it will depend to Pacquiao because obviously the boxer has billions of money compare to Mcgregor.

Not yet and it came from him that he still wants to fight and the profit that he'll get through that much will mostly be donated and will become an aid for those people that are affected by the pandemic. If this is the kind of match with a purpose, even if he's not going to face another professional boxer. I guess many will still watch it just like other influencers matches.

It doesnt matter and he doesnt  really care on what people would be thinking about him towards fighting those pro boxers even though his sport doesnt really correlate with that.

As long he can able to make money or profit out of those fights then that what matter most.This isnt something talking about pride or dignity but rather seeing this as a business.

Just like on what Mayweather been doing on fighting off those exhibition into those fighters which arent really that capable or worthy to be an opponent.

For Manny Pacquiao then i dont see much of an issue yet we know on where those winnings would be allocated on.

He must get fast Poirier first before he and we can talk about this fight, he must come here with a sensational win before he goes with the plan of fighting Pacquiao, and if the fight happens and they proceed with using boxing as a mode of fighting, there's no way McGregor can beat Manny Pacquiao, I consider McGregor an amateur in boxing and he is up to boxing all time great.

Fighting  against McGregor? Even he's old then I would be still betting for him yet no doubt that he would whopped Gregors ass without any hardship.

Yes, Connor is good but this is a different sport and we cant just mixed up UFC to pure Boxing fights and the rules to be given is on boxing one which we know on which
one will really be on advantage.

There is a lot of professional boxers (not MMA fighters) who wants to fight Pacquiao recently Ryan Garcia showed interest an made it public that he wants to fight Pacquiao telling the media it is some kind of "passing the torch" for him as it will be an honor fighting a legend like Pacquiao. Since there is a lot of proposals it is really up to him at this point on whether or not he will continue in fighting and also who will be his next opponent and choosing between either money or glory.

McGregor does not mind if he lose, what he wants is to make money, huge money if possible.

That's only a guaranteed money, they made more than that. Maybe lower with Manny but still a considerable amount of money since Manny is still active and one of the greatest boxer in the sports.

This fight has been rumored for many months now. I had already started a thread for this fight but then the McGregor vs. Poirier fight got made and decided to close it. Now it appears that they will go through with Pacquiao vs. McGregor after UFC 257.

Most probably, though Conor got his license as a boxer but it does not make him a good boxer.

Even in MMA fights, he is not the best, we saw fights where he was beaten by his opponent, he is just good in making his name popular by him being a bad boy outside the ring,  Manny is an inspiration and I doubt people think of that on Conor.

Come one, Conor challenge Manny for money, that's it, he knows himself he has no chance.

Conor McGregor likes the spectacle, he earned around $100 million when he faced Floyd Mayweather and he knows he can earn a huge amount of money if he faces Manny Paquiao. The results are inevitable when facing these legendary boxers but the spectacle is real for the fans, McGregor fans hoping he will take over the boxing world while the hardcore boxing fans wanted to teach the MMA celebrity a lesson .

Well, there is rumored that Manny Pacquiao will resign from his boxing career, I saw the news last year that his coach told this that Manny was planning to resign in boxing career because of his age and focus on his political career. Perhaps this will never happen that there is a fight between them, if there is, it's clearly McGreggor only want the money and become popular by challenging Manny Pacquiao but the fact, he will never able to win the fight to Manny, it's obvious that MacGregor becomes an underdog if there is a match.
