I also heard about this the other day and thought that at this point, Pacquiao is doing this for the money and not for honor and anything of that sort. He has mentioned a lot of ‘retirement fights’ for the last decade and I can’t see when will the dude actually stop. He can still square with a lot of ‘em and it’s unbelievable how fit and ready he can still be if a potential fight is around the corner. McGregor will surely put up a fight, though in the end this will be a Pacquiao win given the huge gap in experience and technique in the sport alone.

McGreggor if will be aggressive, this fight might end in round 1. I think McGreggor respect the power of Paquiao than Mayweather as looking at Paquiao's resume, one can already tell how beast he is when in the ring, however, since Paquiao has already matured in this sports and he knows what fans are looking, he might not easily KO McGreggor but will make sure he is in control of the fight.

For sure Pacquaio are also going to entertain the crowd so he won't go with the KO early. He will just toy around and let Conor hit him in the corner and let the crowd cheer for that. Yes, we can say that Pacquiao is doing this for the money, and so everyone does as well.

Same with Conor as well, he is the best entertainer in MMA and Pacquiao is still the cash cow and his name is still relevant in boxing and fans are willing to buy tickets for his next fight.

Conor's chance in this fight is just to survive in the 12 rounds if this is a 12 rounds fight, no chance of winning as Pacquiao would not allow that to happen. This is a good fight if it's not an exhibition fight (which I think it's not) because this will add in the resume of Pacquiao just like Mayweather.

Everyone is talking about this fight because of the popularity of the two fighters but if we ask people about their opinion on this fight, the answer is unanimous, Pacquiao wins without a doubt.

I guess what other people see in this match would be their curiosity on how these boxers would be doing if they will be fighting his boxer. Even though the results of these exhibitions match can be told based on the experiences and records they had, people still want to see what would be the fight look like, the reason we can just see it as a way to earn themselves a million.
Curiosity in the sense of what if MMA fighter won over the boxing champ?
...

Well, no. As a fan of boxing in the past, I do some PSP games called Fight Night and I would match Manny Pacquiao with boxing legends like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, and I know the fact that they are in Heavyweight but the curiosity of how will that match go, that is what I mean. We all know we will win, and I think they are just curious how will defeat McGregor and how is he doing at that age closing to his retirement.

Indeed, it is actually interesting. But this fight, won't pay a fee to watch this. Will watch those free streaming platforms.  Wink Is this match near to reality or are we still in the discussion mode here? Seems both sides have not decided if they will push thru this fight this year or not.

Undoubtedly, Conor is unlikely to be able to withstand all 12 rounds of the fight, but I have some doubts that it will be 12 rounds, and not let's say 10 rounds. As for McGreggor's resume, it's a fight with such great boxing fighters as Mayweather and Pacquiao. But there is much more doubt about the positivity for Pacquiao's resume, unless it is an additional way to attract attention to yourself in the light of rumors about the beginning of Pacquiao's political career.

As far as I know, it is now being talked about.

Despite that, I think this match will surely go and this will be a popular fight this year not because Pacquiao will be fighting an MMA fighter but also because maybe people are still looking at how Pacquiao will be performing in this match. I am still rooting for a Mayweather - Pacquiao  rematch that is why I want to see how will Pacquiao will perform.

Indeed, there is no official schedule when the Paquiao vs McGreggor fight will be held, but Justin Fortune as Pacquiao's physical trainer admits
the Pacquiao vs McGreggor battle will indeed be held in 2021. But this fight is indeed very much talked about, I think the Paquiao vs McGreggor
battle is one of the most awaited this year. Because like you said, many people really want to see how 42-year-old Paquiao is performing.
But Justin Fortune believes Paquiao will beat McGreggor in just 2 rounds.

There is not much difference between Manny Pacquiao vs. Connor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul. They are both fights purposely arranged for the sake of money and nothing else.
But you Must admit that Sports now are being managed and conducted FOR MONEY and the Meaning of Sports are not there anymore .

Each field was offered tons of Money for every champion or Stars and the concept of the sports alone a Long gone mate.

It is true, although partially. There is still sports of course but there is also money. It seems money is the priority and the center of every fight but at least sometimes the goal is both money and giving a good fight for the boxing fans. It is not bad to make money but at least make money by showcasing real boxing talents also.

I have a different perspective in regards to this kind of contact sports with relation to money. My pov is that these kinds of sports are made for the entertainment of the audience, as the audience gets entertained, the players get their price which is the money and the "trophy". We must admit that part of the intention of this contact sports player is not just to prove they're the strongest, fastest, most agile, etc. but also to gain a large sum of money in just 1 game of their sports.

Ergo, sports are being conduct, even then for the money behind that can be obtained by entertaining the people who loves this kind of activities.

That's what I'm saying. It is both for money and for entertainment. But take note that this is sports that we are talking about, the sports of boxing. Boxing comes first before money and entertainment. And this is not just some remote village boxing show that we are talking about. This is between a boxing legend and someone who is not even capable of proving that he is a boxer.

UFC is being carried by a few fighters only. It cannot equal to that of boxing's legacy and name in sports.

It is the same for most sports, it is carried by few famous players who are playing beyond their game every match/fight/round/game, and making an effort to make themselves known.

You can't justify the popularity of other sports just because you only know a few persons in that sports. That is not fair judgement.

UFC is not a sport. It is a private company promoting MMA fights.

If we will be seeing a Manny Pacquiao in a good condition, I will be betting this match will end at Round 6 or 7. Since we knew how Manny already passed his prime, for sure we will not be seeing the Pacquiao in the past but still, I am looking at this as a knockout win. Manny is known for his deadly combos and fast movements, unlike Mayweather that would just avoid hits and attack at a certain point. I agree that if this match will be taken head-on by both fighters, it would be an early knockout by Manny.

You can't justify the popularity of other sports just because you only know a few persons in that sports. That is not fair judgement.

UFC is not a sport. It is a private company promoting MMA fights.

whatever, So let's change it then, for your own convenience. you are making an unfair judgement towards MMA. And you can't change that fact  Wink

Just like the NBA, people recognize it more than any other leagues, but the real sport here is basketball. Anyway, let's not discuss all these technicalities anymore, let's focus on the fight, what's your prediction and when it's going to happen, I think that's more important.

I am not having any problem with other people's view. Your view, however ignorant or informed, is yours. I also also have mine. But, make no mistake, I am not making any judgement against MMA, am I? Can you quote any word of mine which could be understood as "making an unfair judgement against MMA?"

You are not stating any fact at all. What you are doing is probably shit posting to make you meet your post requirements.

There are data i have read that Boxing enthusiast is getting lower and lower each year , and people are now much love watching UFC than boxing .

UFC is being carried by a few fighters only. It cannot equal to that of boxing's legacy and name in sports.

This is the thread where you reply that right?

He state a data regarding boxing enthusiast lowering while people are now loving UFC (MMA) more. yet you claim that they would never be equal based on your first sentence which is "UFC is being carried by a few fighters only."

NICE JUDGEMENT  Huh

First UFC and boxing may have the same view over fighting but these are two different things when it comes to Mixed martial arts and Boxing for example when  McGregor enters the ring on boxing as he did with Floyd Mayweather he will allow to limit himself not using kicks and wearing gloves at the same time where he is more comfortable not wearing one while fighting on the octagon, and if Mayweather would fight on the octagon he can sure release a 100% in fighting without gloves but certainly not very familiar with pining a fight on the ground,

I might say there are possibilities that some Boxing fans would switch into mixed martial arts but you can not give a comment on boxing legends that may still give a 100% performance inside the octagon.

A boxer fist is deadly without any gloves.

I agree that mixed martial arts and boxing are two different things, different sports, different ways of fighting. But the thing you said is biased and unfair. That is the point where we stand in this thread.

You are a boxing enthusiast, okay, but you mustn't put down other sports just because they are doing good, and yours aren't. MMA is still a sport, and if it gets popular, you just can't pout something like "It cannot equal to that of boxing's legacy and name in sports."

We don't know if Manny Pacquiao and his team are still interested on Conor as he lost to Justin Poirier via knock-out.

What do you guys think? Will it still create the needed hype even though Conor seems to be really out of shape, his power no longer there. And with this lost are fans still going to buy tickets or PPV because we all know that Conor will not win against a version of Manny?

Conor might think that his UFC journey is over and he will now focus on boxing.

Damn, that's what he get when he is too complacent, he focus on being superstar than improving himself as a fighter, now his popularity is slowly diminishing and I don't think he can still come back. This Paquiao vs McGreggor if it will happen will be a good way for him to earn millions but in UFC, i guess he will not be the favorites again after this lose.

I like to hear what Manny has to say about the result.

Then after this fight, if Conor still insists on fighting Manny in the boxing ring, then maybe he seeks retribution to his career to start again, recover his fans, and came back to UFC like nothing happened.

Manny will still fight Conor if Conor will be the one to initiate the deal, as it is pretty much a promotion game where lots of money is involved. People cant just say no to these kinds of offers, don't you think?

Conor is the one initiating the deal as he was consistently calling Manny to fight him, but with this lose, I think his value will drop, maybe if he would have won the fight, they could agree with a 50/50 sharing, but now, it looks like 20% share is justifiable, and this fight would still happen.
