Thanks all!

At this moment, I'll do nothing (just leave the funds in my account). Knowing that I got my initial investment out gives me peace of mind.

I'll see what the Bitcoin price is doing, and then decide whether I want to "dollar cost average" 50% of my investment again, or want to use it in another way.

If you are not comfortable that your initial investment is on BTC. Try to invest your USDT on passive interest like staking on Binance. In that why, Your money will still earn even though it is just sitting to your wallet while the other half is on cryptocurrency with volatile price.

Base on what you mention. You are a passive trader type so definitely you must not keeping pressuring yourself on investing in cryptocurrency in the long run.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

You already sold your bitcoin and made a nice profit, but you can actually hold it for more and not sell at below $40k because once the bitcoin price increases again, the price will be at more than $45k.

Decision wise if you have good understanding with this venue of investment, you can continue working with the market movement. It's still possible position yourself and earned, just need to work out with what would be the next market steps.

Quote
But that will not be a problem since you now have much money to buy more bitcoin, and I am sure that the amount of bitcoin you buy will be more than you have before.

Possible but if there's no correction that happened after you sold your assets, the chance to fomo's is very risky since you'll be forced to buy with much higher value.

If you want to hold bitcoin for the long term, then after you buy bitcoin at the downtrend, you need to send your bitcoin in a cold wallet and don't tell other people you keep bitcoin for the long term.

Safe way of investing in a long term process. Keeping your assets inside a safe wallet and not to look on it for longer period of time will allow you to manifest decent to huge profits. History will just repeated itself. Keep calm!

but I am thinking about what to do with the money I took out:

  • Put it in a less volatile investment, as a long term safeguard
Is this what you want ? or just carried away because of the Idea that after a Great Bitcoin pump then surely altcoin season will come?
Quote
  • Reinvest it in BTC as soon as the price drops (it eventually will, but when?)
If you really trusted Bitcoin (obviously you have proven that with 8000$ "FREE" money) then why not re invest since the volatility of bitcoin now is really showing off.
Quote
What's your opinion? Thanks!
Practically i did this with the 35% of my Holdings but not Bitcoin instead altcoins that i sold and enter the funds more to my Bitcoin holdings.

That is right. Before we decide to invest in the crypto, we should know and learn many things to know which coin can give us earning, learning and analyzing the market that will help us know where the market will move.

~snip~
Possible but if there's no correction that happened after you sold your assets, the chance to fomo's is very risky since you'll be forced to buy with much higher value.
If that so, I suggest that he wait for a while because after the price rise, the correction will come again, and sometimes, the price can be down too deep below the price he sells before. So he can have a chance to buy the coin at a low price.

~snip~
Safe way of investing in a long term process. Keeping your assets inside a safe wallet and not to look on it for longer period of time will allow you to manifest decent to huge profits. History will just repeated itself. Keep calm!
Stay calm will be important, especially to hold the bitcoin in the safe wallet for a long time. We don't need to check the market too often because our purpose is not selling bitcoin in a short time. We will keep bitcoin for the next years and only selling bitcoin when the price is rise higher.

If no longer confident of reinvesting it on bitcoin because you already have it and the initial amount you have isn't going to be used in the future, what you can invest is to look for another asset that you think is good for you in the long term. It can be in the crypto market again in the form of altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin, BNB, and other altcoins.

And in traditional investments, stocks, bonds, p2p lending, paintings, gold, precious metals, and other assets that appreciate instead of depreciating. You have a lot of choices and I think you are doing it correctly because you will not spend that money you got initially on things that are unnecessary.

From the little experience am having in crypto when investing or trading is better to always take your profits and you can reinvest your capital or you can reinvest your profit and remove your capital, when trading or investing always make sure your capital is safe don't just leave both your capital and profit there. After taking your profit you can reinvest in another coin later and don't always fall in love with a coin.

Hi all,

In the past weeks, I have sold some BTC, and I have my initial investment (about $5000) out. Which means that everything I have in BTC now (about $8000) is "free". That is fine, but I am thinking about what to do with the money I took out:

  • Put it in a less volatile investment, as a long term safeguard
  • Reinvest it in BTC as soon as the price drops (it eventually will, but when?)

In the first case, I have secured my initial investment in the long term, so I won't need to worry about it, but it also won't make much more for me.

In the second case, the potential for gains is much higher, but I still risk losing my initial investment. I don't need the money now, but I would feel sorry about it.

I plan on keeping what I have left in BTC for the long term. My question is purely about the initial investment that I took out again.

What's your opinion? Thanks!

Compounding your profits to make your capital even way more bigger is ideal but the question is, would you able to do so? Not all would really be that capable on making good trades
and making it some constant good or positive results.

If you can able to do that then why not on reinvesting those profits to make it bigger? It will depend if you do really need to pull off those profits for whatever reason you do have.

Its your choice and as long it would really be benefitting you then that would matter most.Every one of us does have goals and preference towards on the profits they do make.
Some decide to re-roll or re-invest and some will really be securing it.

The strategy to use depends on you or something that could you think could work in your situation, most people just buy bitcoin invest in it, and then come back after a few years to see if it has a good profit, they pick that method because they were just not the kind of daily trading guy or they are busy to other work so its the best strategy for them.

And then there are people who buy bitcoin and then sell when the market price is high and then reinvest in bitcoin again when the market price dump for a higher profit.

Probably waiting for a few years might not be worth it compared to daily trading where you could already get your profit, if you don't really need the money, for now, it's better to just invest your money for long term investment. But you could still risk it selling it and then put it in a savings account where it could earn a good interest and then take it out and reinvest again when the market is dump again.

That is a really good idea for you to be able to keep earning, that is depending on you how much you take and how much you will invest since it is your own money. For me, I want to reinvest all of that to have a bigger income in the near future. I don't need fancy things as of now, I can buy the things that I want in the future if I got to make my money bigger by investing in a particular altcoin or even in bitcoin. I don't know how to do day trading, but I might just buy some of the tokens and will hold them for a long time.

I would reinvest but we will be asking the same question; When?

For sure Bitcoin will be having a time that the price is low which also means that it would be a great time to reinvest. Although the chances of it happening are there, we don't know how low and when it will be that low. Despite all of that, I would be reinvesting because for sure, Bitcoin will be having a profitable price in the future.

We invest to make money. The same way we make money to satisfy needs. You're already in profit to an excess $8,000. It's good you have already taken out $5,000. If I were you, I will split that money into 3 and use a quarter of it to give myself a treat. Take yourself out and celebrate that success. Catch a glimpse of life for life has no duplicate. Then plough back the ⅔ into buying credible alts with less market cap. That way you are certain of more profit.

why not do both . divide your initial imvestment , 2500 goes to stable investments for long term and the rest half would go on less stable investments so that you still have a chance to take profits in short term .

if you succesfully take profits i guess that is now the time to allocate some funds for your self for the future , store this funds in a safe or in a bank . by the way nice profits tho , congrats . this proves that having a good capital really  makes you earn good amounts of money

First of all, you have to keep your Initial amount while using the gain, you might not know what may happen next so whether Bitcoin will keep falling or rise by so doing having some few effect on your balance, as for the investment, it would be good to consider performing staking program maybe in Binance exchange where you could be getting return periodically, but this is solely depends on the type of coin you wish to undergo the staking, potential coins are preferable, what's your take on this.

First of all, I want to congratulate you on your earnings, investing in bitcoin is such a great thing to do but about what you are planning to do then maybe the good thing to do for now is to wait until the bitcoin price goes down. The price of bitcoin is still high so it is riskier now to buy and invest it. You should also set a plan, you don't need to invest it all, try to divide it by two invest and convert t real money to the other one.

If I were on your position I think I would just take it and spend it on what my family needs but if you already have all the things that you needed and all the bills are covered then just reinvest it in crypto.
We don't know when is the best time to reinvest or when would be the lowest time for Bitcoin again so for me just spread it out in alt-coin and reinvest some portion in Bitcoin to hold for a long term.

It all depends on one question. Do you need money right now? In this case, feel free to use them. Overwise, its better to reinvest your profits

Conventional wisdom places the number at around 30% of profits - with some people suggesting as high as 50%. The actual amount varies but the secret is to reinvest based on an actual strategy as opposed to a set amount/percentage. Each area of your business will need money but you need to maintain a delicate balance.

<snip..>

Diversify your investments by allocating your money into different investment mechanisms available.

While investing in bitcoin may be profitable due to its high volatility, there is always that possibility that the market may crash and its price may significantly decrease without any given notice. I do suggest that you keep the profits and re-invest your initial $5,000 until it profits again.

I also think it's ideal if you invest your money into stocks and bank notes. Focus always on long-term in order to at least maximize your profits. I learned this by experience where I failed to invest into stocks and its price suddenly increased after a few years.

It all depends on the OP's need to reinvest it or not. Waiting for the lowest time is the thing to do. But before that is done, it is better if you manage these funds as well as possible. Don't invest everything in altcoins or pass it on over multiple altcons. Better to use 50% of the funds to enter and wait for the price to drop. The remaining 50% reserve fund will be very useful later when the market continues to bear, so you can buy at the lowest price again.
