After reading this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5311851.0 I got curious about people who died from heart attack when winning a huge amount on lottery and I'm quite surprised that there are so many documented cases about this situation. And will give you only pic so its up to you guys if you want to read all the articles that you can find on google, just search "lottery winners who died from heart attack". I feel sorry about their situation since instead of being lucky they turn out to be the most unlucky person by the time they hit the jackpot since they die without enjoying it.

Both Australia and New Zealand's lotteries (run under licence from their respective governments) have already taken the tax out pre-draw, so for example say a Power Ball Game has a $50 Million Dollar first division, then that's what you get - $50 Million dollars.

You can specify who gets a share, but they aren't taxed (and neither are you). If you do nominate people to receive a share there is of course cash transaction reporting to the Tax Office (which is a good thing as they then don't ask questions where you got the money from).

It's kinda rare to see a lottery where the tax is taken out before the draw occurs as most of the lottery I've seen are taxed after the winnings. There are options on most lotteries where the winner can either take all his or her winnings in one payment or be paid in a series of amount of time where the taxes are paid differently. The tax if you'd like to receive all your winnings is just one take or payment will a huge amount which is almost half or sometimes half your winnings unlike if you choose to be paid in a series amount of time where the tax is almost nothing.

Anyway, sounds like things that would happen in very controlled societies. I'd probably withdraw the money physically and send to the relatives/others.

It is not that simple. Irrespective of the source of the money, you can't just give it to your friends or relatives without any tax liability. The recipients need to pay "gift tax" on the amount received by them, and in most cases this tax is on par with the income tax slabs. So it is not just double taxation. Sometimes it can be triple or quadruple taxation. A bit unfair, if you ask me.

I think the body needs to be strengthen and be in good working condition in order to be able handle shock effectively otherwise people should be more careful with things that could shock them or others.  Lots of things could weaken the body gradually in life, more like how certain cars are built to handle certain level of shock but get weaken as they age.

Yes, it is about how we can take care of our healthy, so we do not get any disease. If we are healthy, when we win some money, we will not get a heart attack, and we can enjoy the win money without any problem. But many people forget to take care of themselves, and they are susceptible to the disease, even for the minor illness. We learn from other people, so we have something that we need to prepare.

Surprise and too much excitement. If you have health problem the chance that your heart will fail is very high, most of the time those who died with heart attack are people who are not aware with their physical conditions.

People who are not taking health seriously just living a life without noticing that there are already some malfunctions inside them, hitting a jackpot really surprises you and bring too much joy where your heart unable to handle it.

Actually not a will power but different emotional condition since there are people who are soft about those surprising events that can trigger any uncontrolled emotion and there are people who are stable condition which can settle all those things and just burst there emotion once they receive the sudden blessings. And I will put those people bad emotional condition who died from heart attack since they will not come unto that situation if they are in good shape.

Stories about people passing out when they win a big amount in the lottery are pretty common but the fact that people can die by winning the lottery is something that I find incredible, most likely those people already had some kind of heart disease but at the same time this show us how powerful the mind can really be, they got so excited over the win that it is as if they had exerted themselves physically in a significant way and their hearts could not take that anymore and died because of it.

Have you clicked on any of those articles? Looks like none of them died from a heart attack or anything similar after hearing about their jackpot win. Yeah I think so too, winning a jackpot and becoming a millionaire overnight is completely life changing. There is no way you can control your emotions in that such an event. Also after winning so much money we can just enjoy life, there is no need anymore to control our emotions as we already won.
