What is AvI (Avatar Intelligence)?

Thanks to technological advancement, AI can do more and more incredible things. As early as 2011, IBM's supercomputer Watson defeated two of the best human players, Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings, in a trivia show called "Jeopardy!" In this competition, Watson scored higher than the scores of the two players combined.
      
Watson's knowledge was not coded into its memory. Instead, it had educated itself by reading Wikipedia and several other encyclopedia websites (all natural language source materials). However, Watson didn't need to read through all web pages as a human would. After reading one page, it might have already reached itsconclusion that, for instance, the probability of Argentina winning the World Cup is 36%. You might also read the same page and conclude the probability is 80% because you are better at reading comprehension. Watson, on the other hand, compensated for its disadvantage in reading by absorbing way more source materials. It has an excellent Bayesian inference system that could integrate all the indexed information to reach a more reasonable conclusion, which takes little time.
 
Bayesian inference systems have played a crucial role in the development of AI since. Whether it’s AlphaGo or ChatGPT, we can see a glimpse of Bayesian inference in them. These AI technologies have expanded our horizons, enabling virtual worlds such as Web3 and the Metaverse.
 
Today, when we talk about the Metaverse and Web3, one fact we cannot ignore is we are all carbon-based organisms and cannot live forever in a virtual world completely detached from reality. We need a way to exist in the virtual world for longer than our physical existence, or even indefinitely. There needs to be a solution that turns the virtual world depicted in the Matrix films into a reality, which brings us to AvI (Avatar Intelligence).
 
 

                                      



AvI stands for Avatar Intelligence. While traditional AI focuses on training algorithms to achieve abilities like those of humans, Avatar Intelligence aims to recreate the Matrix films by uploading our consciousness to the network or building a program to replicate the thought patterns of users. This means that each person will have a unique digital avatar in the Metaverse or Web3, which can perform various tasks independently under users’ authorization. This will be the ultimate use scenario for Web3.
 
Avatar Intelligence vs Mind Uploading

Before Matrix proposed the concept of Avatar Intelligence, another idea that is quite popular is Mind Uploading.
 


                                      


Mind uploading uses brain scanning and conjecturing to simulate the brain’s state in computers. The computer will simulate how the brain processes information and how the entire neuronal system works to generate a level of awareness like the human brain.

Mind uploading sounds great, but there are two problems:
 
Problem One: Scanning
      
The first step is to recreate the interconnected state of all the neurons of the brain. To do this, the brain has to be sliced into pieces a million times thinner than a slice of orange. Information from the brain is stored in every nook and cranny of the physical connection among neurons. Their size, shape, and the number and location of the connections are all relevant to the information we are trying to retrieve from the brain. We have to obtain all these data to create a computer simulation of the whole brain's neuronal state.
 
Cutting the brain carries high risk, and even if there are users who agree to have their brains sliced into pieces, it would be difficult to perfectly reassemble them back to their original state. Thus, it is difficult to imagine this technology being widely adopted.
 
Problem Two: Neuron Simulation
 
If we want to create a computer that operates like the human brain, it must be able to access all stored data in a short amount of time, which means the data have to be stored in RAM rather than on hard drives.
 


                                      



In our experiments, if we try to store data collected from lab mice in RAM, it would require a storage space 12.5 times that of the largest single-memory computer (a device built for storage rather than processing) in history. Not to mention that the human brain contains roughly 100 billion neurons, which is as many as the number of stars observable in our galaxy and a million times the number of neurons in a lab mouse’s brain. This difference is even wider when it comes to the number of connections, which is equivalent to how manygrains of sand there are in a one-kilometre long and two-metre deep sand beach.
 
To further complicate matters, we don't even know how much information the human brain can store, not to mention what it would take to transfer such information to a computer. We need to transcode the information first and keep it in some kind of storage for computers to access. Any errors in this process would be fatal. If we don't know how much information needs to be stored before the transfer process begins, we may use up all storage space before the transfer is finished so that the information sequence may become damaged and unusable. Furthermore, since this is the equivalence of uploading someone’s life, we must have at least two (if not three) backups. Otherwise, the consequences of losing such data could be catastrophic.
 
All this is to say that in the short term if we truly want our digital avatars created in a swift and convenient way to explore all the wonders of Web3 and the Metaverse, we must enlist the help of AI, and thus Avatar Intelligence.

Technical Path of Avatar Intelligence
      
In light of the difficulties of Mind Uploading, AI offers us a glimpse of hope in a new direction. Semantic Pointer Architecture Unified Network (Spaun) is a masterpiece by a team of theoretical neuroscientists from the University of Waterloo in Canada led by Chris Eliasmith. Although Spaun only contains 2.5 million virtual neurons, far fewer than the 86 billion in the human brain, it is capable of processing large amounts of information and performing simple arithmetic and basic reasoning. This provides a completely new solution to the fundamental problems of Mind Uploading. AI algorithms are similar to the human brain in that they are opaque boxes whose contents are totally unknown to us. However, we can train an AI software brain that will deliver the same reactions as the human brain would when stimulated by the same data input. In our current simulations, the resources required for such an AI model are far less compared to Mind Uploading.
 
 
In order to behave like a human, the software brain must also acquire basic human behavioural patterns, as well aspersonalities, memories, emotions, beliefs, attitudes and values. This can be achieved by creating a mind file and writing a mind algorithm. By sufficiently training the mind algorithm, we will get a user’s Avatar Intelligence.
 
 

                                    



Given what we’ve already achieved with AI, it's only a matter of time before a brain simulation software will surpass the complexity of human brains in psychological, perceptive and spiritual aspects. In its ultimate form, Avatar Intelligence will consist of two core parts: one for data collection and one for data processing.
 
In MATRIX 3.0, the brainwave data of users will be collected, and a personalised dialogue assistant will be built using a pre-trained method based on the current semantic pointer architecture unified network, utilizing personalised sparse data. This is done by adopting an encoder-decoder framework and using a pre-trained language model to initialise the encoder and decoder. Property embedding is added in encoding to capture rich personalised features when modelling conversation history, and an attention routing mechanism is built in the decoder to integrate the target personalised properties into the decoding process.



                                    

 
 
Using multiple attention paths will enhance the training result. Each path will have a certain feature source, such as the target personality, chat history or previously decoded tokens. A dynamic weight predictor will be established to measure the output of each route so that each target feature’s contribution in the final output will be balanced.
 
The current semantic pointer architecture cannot simulate human emotions, but it has replicated many quirks of human behaviour, such as a tendency to only remember the beginning and the end of a list of things. With how fast technologies are developing, future iterations can definitely make the impossible possible. scenarios, the emergence of AvI will play a very important role in the MATRIX ecosystem.
First of all, AvI requires a large amount of decentralized computing power to support it, which will bring widespread demand to MANTA. At the same time, AvI will generate a large amount of data, all of which will become important digital assets for further development of artificial intelligence on MATRIX. More importantly, the generation of these demands and values will bring huge demand to MAN, further enhancing its circulation and playing an invaluable role in the overall value enhancement of the MATRIX ecosystem.

[Sercan] : Matrix AI Network is working with TBEA at OBOR, China's largest project, to provide predictive maintenance technology for large machines used in the startup's infrastructure projects. Matrix uses IoT to create a predictive fault alarm system for highly advanced maintenance that can save up to $1.5 billion in maintenance costs each year.


[Sercan] : On the other hand, Matrix has also partnered with TBEA (Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co., Ltd.), a Chinese technology company specializing in the manufacture of power transformers and other electrical equipment. offers AI technology to TBEA, which will significantly reduce costs while guaranteeing The two companies are working on a pilot project to create a completely unmanned coal mine using 5G, IoT, AI and robots. Matrix is building the blockchain network for artificial intelligence and data collection in this project.

②What exactly are the differences and advantages of Matrix 1.0 and Matrix 2.0 solutions?


[Sercan] : The Matrix 1.0 blockchain platform is the first AI-optimised blockchain platform. Low transaction speeds, lack of security, the complexity of usage, and squandered resources are four key concerns in blockchain that we address with AI technology. We built a public blockchain platform that is both functional and reliable.


[Sercan] : The Matrix 2.0 constructs a blockchain-based AI economy based on data, computer power, and AI models. As every month, CEO Owen Tao answered questions from the community. Get ready to hear insights on the latest developments and future plans of the Matrix AI Network directly from the leaders themselves. You can find the transcript of our Matrix February AMA session below.


Eric: Good morning, my fellow Matrixians. Today is 24th of February and it's time that we make a video for our February AMA. And as usual, we have our CEO, Mr. Owen TAO to join us. Okay, so let's make a big applause to welcome Owen to join us.
 
Owen: Hello, community.
 
Eric: I trust you heard a lot of applause from your end, right?  Okay, so a lot of things that are happening in the crypto industry. First of all is the narrative about the artificial intelligence. And then the second is the story about Hong Kong as the crypto power. So a lot of things about the crypto industry, not just within the crypto vertical, but also in the mainstream media.
 
So I think both are good for us because we meet both ends. So number one is, of course, we are the AI. And second, our foundation has been in Hong Kong since day one. And even I myself is in Hong Kong. So yeah, I think that's why KuCoin, when they have the new Hong Kong tech in the exchange. So our main is also there. So I think that's a good move. And also recently we just reacted the Japan telegram group and we have a partnership with KuCoin to host AMA. And then I think next week we will have another AMA with KuCoin targeting the Middle East countries. So just stay tuned with that.
 
Eric: And without further ado, and I don't want to keep Owen waiting, we will start the AMA questions right away. So Owen, are you ready?
 
Owen: Yeah.
 
Eric: Okay, good. So first question is, I think it's coming from a follower from Vietnam called Kiennt. Can MAN use more centralized exchange and when? Because MAN use its own chain, can it add to decentralized exchange as well?
 
Owen: Yeah, for the first part, we are working on it. I think maybe we hope we can be listed on more and more centralized exchanges as we can. And we are working on it. I think maybe in the near future, you will find we will be listed on some more exchanges. Please keep on watching, keep your eyes on us. And for the second part, we haven't developed our decentralized exchanges on our mainnet because as you know, for exchanges, you need enough liquidity and traders, then you can support one decentralized exchanges. So if you want to use that, I think maybe you can use our wormhole to cross on the Binance Smart Chain or something else we would like to add into our wormhole. Then you can add MAN in the other popular decentralized exchanges on the other public chain. Yeah, that's my answer.
 
Eric: Okay, so speaking about decentralized exchanges, I would elaborate more on this part because I am actively involved in this one. So we have got the proposals from a couple of centralized exchanges, and we are integrating with one and discussing and also in discussion with other exchanges as well. So that would be good news for you. So just stay tuned for that. So yeah, when Owen says it's in the near future, we do mean it will be very soon. So that's good news.
And second question from the Batuhan. The question is like this, Dear Mr. Owen TAO, so my first question is what inspired you to build the Matrix AI network and what makes it different from other blockchain? In this question, what makes it different from other blockchain? I think we do have an article on this part and we can send you the link. So Owen, why did you start the Matrix AI network?"
 
Owen: Yeah, the thing is before we started the Matrix project, our artificial intelligence team just won a champion in a world AI game. So when we looked into the blockchain industry, I think we can use the artificial intelligence technology to make this block, make blockchain better. So that's why we started to do the Matrix. We want to use the artificial intelligence technology to make the blockchain maybe safer, easier to use, faster and more public welfare. That's why we started to build the Matrix AI Network.
 
Eric: Owen, I think you forgot to mention about you are a fan of the movie Matrix itself. And that's why we have 3.0. That's why we chose this name.
 
Eric: That's good. So everything is kind of planned since day one in terms of the vision. So that's why we started the Matrix AI Network and we named it as Matrix.
 
Eric: So the second part from Batuhan is How does Matrix AI network ensure the security and privacy of its users and what measures are in place to prevent from malicious activities on the network?
 
Owen: I think, in my opinion, if you want to keep the security, the user security for the blockchain industry, I think the most important is your consensus on your mainnet. That's the base of the security. So we have created a new consensus. We call it Hybrid PoW. In this consensus, we have used some new artificial intelligence algorithm to make the whole net more fair and more security for all the users. And also for the assets of the common users, we have used some more advanced different security algorithms for the users. So I think we can make the user feel more safe on our mainnet. And in the future, we'd like to add more security functions on our mainnet. So we'd like to keep all of your privacy data and your site security safe.
 
Eric: "Just to add on to what Owen just mentioned, for this hybrid consensus mechanism, it's not just about security. It is also a way in terms of energy friendliness. So we do have another article elaborating why we use this hybrid consensus mechanism and its applications in real life.
And the third question, I will go on to Haha001. Haha001, I think this is the third time that you submitted your question and thank you for your submission. And the question is like this. Are you planning to integrate with other different blockchain technologies to expand our ecosystem?"
 
Owen: "Yeah, for this, I think for this question, I will talk about the work we are working on. Yeah, for right now, we haven't done something to integrate with other different blockchain. But what we are doing now is, as you know, we have a MANTA system. So it's a decentralized artificial intelligence computing platform. So I think maybe in the next part of the blockchain, I know other people are talking about Web3 or something else. So in the future, I think maybe for Web3 or something else, we need artificial intelligence technologies to support them to do more things. So that's why we need more and more, more and more computing power, especially for decentralized computing power. So we'd like to make our MANTA platform into an open computing power platform. So everyone, not only on the Matrix AI Network, from all kinds of the blockchains, users or developers, you can use our computing power. So that's how we work with the other different blockchain ecosystems. So we support our computing power to all of them. So everyone uses our MANTA system. I think they also can improve, increase the needs of the MAN coin. Yeah, that will make more benefits to our ecosystem.
 
Eric: Hey Owen, since you are talking about MANTA, do you think we can create a video to illustrate the steps, how to hop onto our mainnet and the detailed steps in order to rent these GPU powers? Are we going to do that?
 
Owen: Yeah, of course, we are working on it and I think we will release it to the community as soon as we have finished."
 
Eric: Okay, good.
 
Eric: Yeah, I think that's good. The video will work better than the test version of the guide.
 
And further to from Peter, How do we intend to achieve the integration of user brains into Web3? So I think this is about our 3.0 blueprint, Owen.
 
Owen: "Yeah, let me explain that. If you have seen some article about our 3.0 plan, you'll find that we are not going to integrate the user's brain into Web3. The thing is we want to create a new kind of intelligence, we call it avatar intelligence. It means we will use some chips to get your brainwave data and also you need to do lots of things to maybe talk with your avatar intelligence, something similar as the ChatGPT. Then you will get avatar intelligence in Web3. It can do lots of things instead of you when you are offline. That's what we are going to do in the 3.0 part.



Eric: "Sorry, Owen, to clarify, the question is in what ways we can integrate the brainwave of the users. So the answer is a user needs to wear some sort of gadget so that they can transfer their brainwave and then through our AI algorithm, they can train the avatar and especially for the avatar intelligence. So that's a physical way. And then the second way is through our MORPHEUS, which is like a CHATGPT. And by chatting with their avatar or interacting with their avatar, the avatar will know more about a personality of a user. So there are at least two ways. So number one is through the brainwave and then the second one is through the chatting using the Morpheus. Am I correct?"
 
Owen: Yeah, you're right.
 
Eric:  Okay. Exactly. Yeah. So then let's move on to BudSpencer469. So yeah, He has been worrying about Professor Deng. So I think it's time that we address this question for Bud Spencer. Hi Owen, what exactly is Professor Deng's task in the vision of 3.0? And are his students also involved in test or processes?"
 
Owen: For the vision of the 3.0, we have two parts of the main work. The first part is that we will get the user's brainwave data. And yeah, this is the first part. And second part, we need to use the artificial intelligence to train your avatar intelligence. For the second part, Professor Deng is in charge of the second part. Right now they are building the AI models for our 3.0 to help make the user build their avatar intelligence and also for the training structure part. And also we have mentioned that we will restart the intelligent contract product. And also Professor Deng's team is working on it. Yeah, that's my answer.
 
Eric: So yeah, this is the intelligent contract back in 1.0. So Professor Deng is still working on that. And aside from that, he's actually involved in the avatar intelligence training using different algorithms, models, etc. So yes, he's very active with us for the 3.0 and likewise his students.
And I think your second part of question, BudSpencer, that you didn't write is, aside from Professor Deng, will we have more experts to join us to realize this 3.0 vision? And the answer will be clear. Yes, yes. Right?

Owen: Yeah.
 
Eric:  Good, And then our Honorable Satoshi MANato has some questions for us. The first question is, Can you talk more about the avatar vision of 3.0? What's the purpose of this avatar intelligence, so to speak?"
 
Owen: Yeah, at first the purpose for this project is we want to make the movie Matrix into reality. Yeah, that's the purpose. So about the Avatar intelligence, because we know that maybe the web3 or the Metaverse will be the future, but we will meet some problems when we are thinking about them. The first one is that we can't always live in the virtual world. Yeah, because we need to eat, we need something to do.
 
So for us, maybe the Web3 or the Metaverse come to the real life, but we still need to spend lots of time in the real life. So if you are not online, also you can't join all the activities in the virtual world. So I think if we want to create more values in the web3 or the Metaverse, we need to increase the time we can stay in the world. That's why I think we need one avatar intelligence for us to stay in the virtual world, because it can help us to do lots of things. At first, it can do some things when we are offline.
 
 And also, if we want to, you know, the web3 or the metaverse, the ability for you to seek data is very important. But if you are human, you can't do that. But if we use the artificial intelligence technologies, we created an avatar intelligence of us, it can seek all kinds of data and in one second, it can deal with all of them. So it can improve the facilities for us to stay in the virtual world and create more value for us. So I think that's the value of the avatar intelligence. 
 
Eric: So in short, just to create a digital twin of yourself, and then this digital twin in the virtual world can create a lot of values, for example, by looking for data or information, just like Chat GPT, a personalized assistant that can work for you and save you from a lot of work and then you can save the time and then put the time to more quality productions or your personal life.
 
And when Owen is speaking of the Metaverse or Web3, I think it's more about the Web3 because Metaverse is just an application scenario. Imagine your avatar is in our application, for example, Twitter, and you have your avatar in there or any social space. And this avatar exactly match you with your personality, of your thoughts. And there will be an interesting way to interact with other users and also to integrate with the platform itself.
 
 I mean, the apps itself. So it would be open up a very interesting space. And I will give you another example. I'm not sure whether this will be the end product or not. Say, for example, if you have the brainwave and then you are watching some sort of advertisement or TV and that the brainwave will present a true signal of how much you like the advertisement or like the program itself.
 
Because nowadays for advertisement, the most common way is to lock the cost per click or cost per impressions, etc. or even they can see your eye movement and then to determine whether an advertisement is effective or not and then push for more similar ads for you. But if you are using the brainwave when you read information and they can precisely lock down your true reaction to those and this can be for more effective targeting parameter settings for advertisement or even for programs. I mean, the TV programs or anything that require your true reactions, then that will be something really exciting and interesting.
 
So yeah, I mean, the application scenario is not just in Metaverse. It can be used in a lot of scenarios and that's why there's a huge business potential in relation to the digital avatar. If I remember it is around 528 billion US dollars. And there is a second question coming from Satoshi.
 
When the project is ready, what can we do in avatar intelligence and will there be new people joining the team for the avatar project? I think we can answer the second part. Will there be new people joining the avatar project, joining the team?
 
Owen: Yeah, we have recruited some new guys and also the most important, we have found some new partners to do this project together because as you know, we need some experts in such as neuroscience or something else to help us to build this big project. So yeah, we have some new people and the most important, we have some new very powerful partners in the next step.
 
Eric: Yeah, that's good. Yeah, I think Owen just mentioned it very clearly. We do need new experts or team members to join us and we will have these people because these are the fundamental technology to realize our 3.0 vision because it will lead AI. So we have Professor Deng and his team.
 
And the second part is about neuroscience and we do not have right now, but we will have very soon. So just stay tuned for the update. And then go on.
Will a brain chip be used for this project and can it work with Neuralink?
 
Owen: Yeah, at first, we will use the neural chips to collect our brain wave data to create our avatar intelligence. So yeah, yes, we need to use the neural chips. And for the second part, right now we can't work with Neuralink right now because we have different data standards. But I think maybe in the future, if we have used the whole neuroscience industry, have used the same data standards, I think maybe we can have more cooperation or something else we can do something together.
 
Eric: Yeah. Okay, Owen. So in this particular topic, there are two types. One is invasive and the other one is non-invasive. Invasive meaning you have to inject a brain chip into your brain and then non-invasive will be sort of just like wearing a gadget on your head or on your hand. So this question is more about injecting a chip into your brain. So is this something that we are going to do? I just need to clarify because as far as I understand, there will be legal implication to that. I mean, injecting the brain chip. So that's why we adopt the non-invasive part, which is by wearing a gadget at our hand or at our forehead, things like that. So which is the one? Eric: Hello, Matrixians. As you all know, we started at the beginning of December and released our MATRIX 3.0 roadmap. In this roadmap, the Neuroscience is the most basic, and it is also the most important new technology to complete a direction we proposed in 3.0. Then our Chinese name is actually a combination of transliteration and meaning of the English name. Then we are actually a high-tech enterprise incubated by Tsinghua University, established in 2019, so our company mainly positions itself in the Brain-Computer Interface system, or in terms of technology development of neural interface systems. We hope to use our own team's advanced integrated circuit design technology and biomaterial preparation technology to empower our Brain Science and Neuroscience frontiers.

Eric : What do you think about blockchain technology? What innovations can it bring to the brain computer interface BCI?
 
Jackson: OK, blockchain technology was already known to everyone about 10 years ago when Bitcoin was just launched I am relatively familiar with the software industry I am a fan of blockchain technology I think the biggest charm of blockchain technology is that it can be a relatively free community or world foundation It can be decentralized There is no big company or force to control it or own it So, as a foundation for the future world I think blockchain is a better model for the future of the world As for what it can bring to the brain computer interface (BCI)
 
I think these two technologies are different in different fields But it is very likely that, as I mentioned in the introduction of our company I think blockchain technology and brain computer interface technology (BCI) will be the foundation of the technology of the metaverse Or these two technologies can be combined to bring something to the virtual
world or the metaverse
 
 
Eric : This is my humble understanding Not humble, Jackson
 
So basically, blockchain technology and brain computer interface technology (BCI) can be the foundation of a new life experience I will ask another question next.
 
You know that Matrix is mainly about artificial intelligence and then use artificial intelligence to drive the blockchain In 3.0, we use the Neuroscience to combine artificial intelligence.
 
My next question is about artificial intelligence and brain computer interface (BCI).How do you think these two aspects can be combined Or what can AI bring to the technology of brain computer interface (BCI) Or how can these two complement each other?
 
Jackson : OK, this is a good question It is also a question that is highly valued by professionals In fact, the so-called brain computer interface or neural computer interface technology is not that mysterious, It was invented about 100 years ago.
 
For example, the signal recording equipment of the heart or brain is actually an early or primitive stage of neural or brain computer interface In the recent 10 to 20 years we have found that the collection of neural signals or the transmission or control of neural signals gradually enter the medical field that we can understand.For example, we may have a treatment for Parkinson's disease. This is the field of sending or controlling neural signals .And there are many other things we can see recently.
 
For example, there is a technology of neural interface that allows paralyzed patients to manipulate some fake limbs or mechanical hands to perform some actions Or through
this neural interface technology it can let paralyzed patients surf the Internet or some so-called brain or heart reading technology that allows you to know what you want to say without opening your mouth and then type the content you want to say into the computer screen and so on
 
So why in the recent 10 to 20 years the so-called brain reading technology or heart reading technology or some technology that uses the mind to manipulate devices has been gradually developed?
 
It's because in recent years our ability to process computers and software algorithms have made considerable progress especially in model recognition which is the artificial intelligence
technology you just mentioned has made a big progress The development of these technologies can assist our neural interface and combine the two to be able to collect the signals we used to know but didn't know how to interpret and interpret them into a more effective pattern In this way, we can make the existing neural interface or brain reading technology to rejuvenate it So the arrival of artificial intelligence technology can expand the boundaries of brain reading technology and make it do more interesting things
 
Eric : So by using AI algorithms or algorithms we can take some data that we couldn't grasp before and read it through AI to make the old neural interface more applicable That's the understanding. Then I will ask the next question
 
Using neuroscience technology to strengthen artificial intelligence technology how can we strengthen the application of AI? What is the role of AI?
 
 
Jackson : I don't know if I understand it right Are you asking what areas of AI development can make the neural interface more applicable?
 
Eric : Sorry, it's the opposite What we just said is how AI can make the development of neuroscience Now I will say the opposite How can our neuroscience make AI strengthen its own technology or increase its training or increase the learning ability of the machine?
 
Jackson : Okay, there are two different directions The first direction is the direction of combining AI from the perspective of the neural interface
 
For example, we have some AI robots or AI models or algorithms When we put them independently on the machine what they can do is not necessarily what we humans need in our daily lives When we combine them with the neural interface they can expand the ability of humans in their daily lives I can give an example For example, the previous AI could perfectly manipulate a robot just like Alphabet But the previous AI could not help a paralyzed patient to make a perfect movement like Alphabet because our AI could not implant it on a human But last year, there was an article in EPFL that they used the technology of a neural interface to connect the human's brain nerve and our computer outside In this case for a paralyzed patient through the AI and model recognition algorithm deployed on the computer outside they can know the intention of the brain to control the body and it can also calculate the instruction of body control to stimulate the spine to make the paralyzed patient able to get some complex movements like walking or climbing stairs This can be seen as after the neural interface and AI are combined what AI can do and what more it can do So AI itself can be seen as a translator or an automatic translator What can it do and what scenarios do we need to use the function of the translator So without the technology of neural interface the paralyzed patient cannot benefit from the development of AI model recognition technology With this technology the translator can lose the connection between the brain and spine of the paralyzed patient
 
After the translator the brain data can regain the connection This is the first direction I mentioned The second direction is a little bit different from the traditional neural interface technology This direction is called brain data calculation Through the study of the physiological mechanism of the nerve we can develop many chips for brain calculation The brain calculation chip can calculate more like the brain rather than the traditional computer CPU.
 
With this kind of chip the calculation of the technology of neural network can be improved or improved In many scenarios of model recognition the calculation efficiency can be better than the traditional architecture. We can imagine that in the future there is a possibility that we can connect the neural network of the machine with the human brain through neural interface.
In other words, the two can be a common body to complete the calculation or some tasks
 
I know a typical application Someone thought when we are doing some tasks that need quick response For example when we are doing some difficult tasks or combat missions What is the thing that humans are not good at doing?
 
It is to make my intention a very precise operation For example, when I do special-purpose flying I need to control the two planes to turn in different directions before they collide to complete a beautiful pattern What humans are good at is I know which way I should turn and I know when to turn But humans are not good at turning the direction of the direction
I know and the time of the direction into a precise mechanical operation What AI or artificial intelligence is good at is to complete a specific command and a precise operation But what AI is not good at is to judge the timing and the action pattern
 
For example, Tesla or other autonomous driving technology can complete a car with a specific speed, angle, or path But it may have some problems when it comes to identifying
obstacles and causing some accidents What humans are good at is identifying obstacles But the braking or turning may not be as perfect as machines and often cause over-turning and side-turning If we combine these two, humans are only responsible for identifying and issuing a static command in the scene while machines are responsible for completing a precise mechanical operation In this case, we can improve the efficiency of our operation and reduce the possibility of accidents In this scenario, the combination of AI and human intelligence will be better than the two

Next, I want to ask When we use AI and human intelligence will it cause some problems in privacy or ethics How to face or solve to balance these problems?
 
 Jackson : Yes, there are problems But I feel these problems are not caused by the combination of AI and human intelligence We are in the era of the Internet or the
virtual world We all need to connect with the outside world through the Internet or AI or virtual world This will cause some problems in privacy After we use AI it will not cause some
problems in ethics like the Internet service held by the tech giants in the future I think the solution to solve these problems is to use the technology of the blockchain or the decentralized network as you mentioned and the encryption technology to help us to fight against the virtual world and the AI to help us to fight against the big brother
 
Eric : Everyone has the same idea so we can all agree Next question In the context of the whole neuroscience research what do you think the shortcomings of AI?
 
You mentioned it just now Can you talk about the shortcomings of AI in the context of the neuroscience?
 
 Jackson : In the context of the neuroscience in the context of the neuroscience in the context of the neuroscience the biggest challenge is the high demand for hardware For example we humans can't recognize a train In this context the human recognition or a white billboard is not very efficient But if we use the current AI or neural network it needs a lot of hardware and a lot of power and a lot of early training In the process of actual work it needs a very powerful hardware and a lot of power to complete the calculation This is actually different from the general biological recognition The second point is we still think that we are still discussing the problem of the current AI The logic of AI is not very clear and they are sensitive to certain interference and they are sensitive to certain interference and they are easily defeated by some special countermeasures For example some countermeasures for model recognition may give two different results for two pictures

You may only be able to access some basic information If you want to be able to communicate information through your thinking it is impossible. But with the technology of neural interface you can communicate your thoughts and emotions to the virtual world or the metaverse. Maybe your experience will be better than before. This is my personal understanding I don't know if it is true Eric, you are more professional in the web 3.0 or the metaverse. I am an outsider So I think like this For example, the patient who is paralyzed can use the neural interface to control the outside world through his consciousness or thinking. For example, if we are integrated into the virtual world of web 3.0 we definitely want to complete the interaction or control with the world I always have to pick a keyboard or a mouse. So I think if you want to completely virtualize the world how to open the bridge between the virtual world and the human consciousness will be a barrier. The technology of neural interface may be a key or a means to open the barrier

Sercan: Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be here! My name is Sercan and I currently serve as the Head of Community at Matrix AI Network. I'm grateful for the opportunity to participate in this AMA hosted by MEXC and the NA community.
 
My passion for blockchain and artificial intelligence has led me down an exciting path, where I've gained a wealth of experience in community building and workforce management. Having worked in these areas previously, I was drawn to the Matrix AI community due to its focus on these innovative technologies.
 
Since joining the community, I've become increasingly involved and have had the honor of serving as the Head of Community for the past two years. It's been an incredible journey, and I've gained invaluable insights into what it takes to build a thriving community. What project is this? Could you please introduce your team and financial background to us? What’s the story behind it?
 
Sercan: Matrix AI Network is a cutting-edge blockchain project that brings together the power of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. Our vision has not changed since the day we were founded. Inspired by the Matrix film, this project founded in 2016, the team of young professionals set out to design a functional and reliable blockchain platform with the help of AI technology. The result was the Matrix 1.0 blockchain platform, the first AI-optimized blockchain platform, which solved key concerns in blockchain technology such as low transaction speeds, lack of security, complexity of usage, and squandered resources.
 
With the Matrix 2.0 blockchain-based AI economy, the platform is self-evolving with aggregated computing processing power, safe data management, transparent data sharing, and access to an ever-growing set of on-chain AI data, models, and applications. This allows for endless possibilities and a new era of innovation and growth in the world of technology.

Sercan: Our primary objective for the second and third quarters of 2023 is to achieve Phase 1 Roadmap Milestone 1, which involves several tasks such as upgrading our blockchain platform, developing a customized Smart Contract Module, and establishing a distributed storage structure for brain wave data. Additionally, we plan to create a minting and authentication system for brain wave data NFTs and provide access to upload brain wave data.
 
As we approach the third quarter, we will start preparing for Phase 1 Roadmap Milestone 2, which is expected to be completed by December 1, 2023. Our goals for this quarter include connecting with a third-party semantic recognition module, transitioning phonetic and semantic recognition to standard languages, and testing open access to computing power. We are also developing a cross-chain settlement and access system, creating ports for cross-chain use of computing power, and planning to launch the first application for brain wave data analysis and preliminary modeling.

Sercan: Our project, Morpheus, is an Alpha initiative similar to ChatGPT, which showcases the remarkable infrastructure of the MANTA platform for large-scale language model training. Morpheus aims to provide robust support for high-capacity training and computing, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI and creating exciting new opportunities in the field.

The team includes AI experts, who will be responsible for developing the algorithms and machine learning models necessary to interpret and process the brain signals captured by the EEG. Additionally, the team will also include experts in neuroscience, who will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to capture the brain signals and validate the AvI models.
 
Collaboration with scientists will also be a key part of the project, as it will require a deep understanding of brain function, as well as the development of new technologies for capturing brain signals. Overall, the Matrix 3.0 project is a highly challenging task that requires expertise across multiple fields, but the team behind it is well-equipped to handle the job.

Since the launch of our mainnet in 2019, Matrix Foundation has provided manual swap support for ERC-20 tokens to mainnet native coins. In January 2023, we ceased providing manual swap services to prevent manipulative trading and protect the interests of our community.
After much effort, we have partnered with Jehol Capital Foundation, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency foundation with two years of experience in the industry, to take over the operations and investment in the Ethereum-related ecosystem. Jehol has extensive operational and investment expertise in the Ethereum ecosystem, and they will be taking over the ERC-20 MAN tokens to expand their operations and investments in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Eric: Hello, Matrixians! Good morning,good afternoon and good evening.

So it’s time that we run the AMA for the April. Today is 27th of April. So as usual, we have our CEO, Mr. Owen TAO to join this AMA. And this time, just like the March one, we will conduct this AMA in Chinese.

So Owen can speak more friendly with more details, so that you can get more insights from him and understand more about what we are doing and why we have been doing like that. So without further ado, let’s start with the first question.

The first question is from CryptoAlex7. Now we turn back to the language of Chinese. The first question is from CryptoAlex and it is about Morpheus. TAO, please tell us when can we test our Morpheus? Because everyone is looking forward to our own version of ChatGPT.

Of course, our Morpheus is not for ChatGPT to compete with it. It is for our own purpose in our 3.0. So please, Mr. TAO, tell us about the Morpheus test.

Owen: OK, thank you, Eric. First of all, we design Morpheus not to be a tool like ChatGPT. In our 3.0, Morpheus will have some important functions. For example, when we generate this avatar intelligence, in addition to the brainwaves, we also need a tool based on a large language model to collect some of the user’s personal thinking and combine them with the brainwaves. In addition, we can also use it in the future to generate some personal virtual characters in our 3.0, to enrich the world of the universe. This is one of the original intentions of our design of Morpheus.

We are still doing some internal tests and adjustments. As you can see, we are already collecting volunteers from the community to participate in our tests. So yes, we have a plan to launch our test version. But we are still working on some adjustments. I expect to finish it in one or two weeks and open it to the user. But we don’t have as much support as OpenAI for computing power. So we will definitely have some number of people for our user tests. We will adjust, optimize and upgrade it later. This is our current plan.

Eric: So we will launch the test in two weeks. We will also adjust the number of people. We will announce it to the community through an announcement. This is the first question.

The second question is from Angel Maria. This question is about what Matrix can do in social media or online communities to solve some problems. Please go ahead, Mr. TAO.

Owen: Okay. First of all, the main contribution of Matrix to the future of social media or online communities is probably from our 3.0 part. First of all, whether it is Web3 or the original universe, we cannot live in the virtual world all the time. So Web3 or the original universe has its own social media. Our avatar intelligence can replace us to process some information or generate some content.

Secondly, this is also what we have been thinking about in the recent Morpheus test. Whether it is the original universe or Web3, it has a big difference from the physical world. In the physical world, we have 7 billion people in the physical world. In the virtual world, the difference between the virtual world and the physical world is that we have 7 billion people in the physical world. At the same time, we have a border in the physical world. We are as big as the Earth. We have some space in the ocean. The land is for humans to use. The biggest difference between the virtual world and the physical world is that people in the real world cannot be online all the time.

The second difference is that the virtual world has an infinite space to expand. So from this perspective, the virtual world is much more open than the real world. So, in addition to the users of the physical world, it needs a lot of artificial intelligence or robots to play various roles and provide us with various services to fill this world. Normally, robots in games cannot fully meet our needs. So we need some robots with independent thinking or personality. At the same time, we need robots with strong reactions and interaction. This is what we thought about when we were working on Morpheus and 3.0. This is still under exploration. In addition to creating our own avatar intelligence, we also have the opportunity to create third-party ones.

For example, I can use my favorite actor, for example, I like Julia Roberts. I can use her image and personality to make some adjustments to my personal preferences to train some digital humans. In the future, there will be a lot of digital humans to fill the space in the metaverse or the outside world. I think this is very valuable. This virtual world will be more possible and more interesting. This is what we are exploring now. I have talked about online communities before. The most important thing in online communities is the common Daoist organization. We can’t participate in all kinds of Daoist activities in real time. If we can use a way of thinking that is consistent with our values, we can deal with a lot of things that may not be so important.

We can also make the governance of the entire community more orderly and form a decentralized community that is not limited to the Daoist community. This is what we are exploring now and what we may be able to do in the future in this field. Thank you.

Eric: Mr. TAO, you mentioned something interesting. How can we use Morpheus or 3.0 to make social media more interesting? This is a very interesting point. You mentioned that you can learn from other celebrities or certain people. You can learn from them. This is similar to what we are doing now.

For example, ChatGPT. When you enter the prompt, you can also have a similar function. You can use ChatGPT as an AI scientist or a chemistry teacher or a certain role.

This is also what we express in text. We can also use our own Avatar Intelligence, our AVI, and then use Morpheus to realize this interesting avatar game or a very independent person who has been trained. This is different from text. Next, let’s move on to the third question. It’s from redbit4234. How can Matrix solve potential problems including data ownership and governance? How can we ensure that users have their own data in their own hands? Owen, please.

Owen: Let me think about it. Let’s divide this into three points. First, we have realized most of the functions in the 2.0 version. First, we need to solve the problem of data ownership and governance. This is a very simple function for the blockchain. When we upload data, the blockchain will identify the data ownership by means of a time loop. In fact, when we trace the data ownership in the future, we can do it in the earliest principle. The data ownership of the first person to upload the data is the first person’s. This solves the problem of data ownership and governance.

Second, in order to avoid the easy copy of data, for example, if we store the data on Alibaba or AWS, the engineers of Alibaba or Amazon can see all of our data. This is a hazard. They can easily copy our data. So, after we solve the issue of data ownership, the next most important function is to store the data in a distributed way. Now, Matrix has deployed our own IPFS network.

We hope to find a more mature third-party network to support our data storage in the future. After all, professionals do professional things. For example, Filecoin is not yet able to meet our needs. So, we have been using our own IPFS network. After our data is uploaded to the IPFS network, each node only has a small part of the data. It can’t see all of the data. So, it can’t use the data. So, we avoid the risk of the data being copied. The last and most important point is to separate data ownership and usage. To achieve this goal, we need two very important technologies.

The first technology is distributed computing. Yes, MANTA has already realized this function. By distributed computing, for example, if Eric wants to train an AI model with my data, then my data will be divided into many parts and used simultaneously on different machines. For Eric, he can’t get a complete copy of my data. So, Eric can get a complete result but not my data.

This is the first point. It is very important to use a technology that uses distributed computing. Above this, we need a more important technology that uses privacy computing. That is, when each node is computing with our data, it can’t see my data. Although my data is divided into many parts and computed simultaneously on many nodes, the more perfect solution is that in addition to distributed computing, we need to do a layer of encryption.

That is, when each node is computing with my data, it can’t see the complete data. We haven’t achieved this yet. We will gradually explore this in the future to improve this function. From this perspective, we can ensure that the user’s data is first, authenticated on the blockchain and is safely stored in distributed storage.
