within a decade there will definitely be many events that will occur, so it is difficult to predict this. in the future ethereum may no longer be the number one dapp platform. or in the future the ethereum network is considered to fail in overcoming scalability. or in the future ethereum POS is not very profitable. or even worst case all crypto including ethereum is banned. we don't know what the future holds, and all of this could affect prices. it could be ethereum can't make new ATH, and every year they have a repeat. fell below $200, and slowly climbed back up to 1k.

it is all a small part of the bad possibilities that could happen in the future. And if you look at it from the positive side, let's say the bullrun and altcoin season happen every 4 years. from 2017, 2021, and later in the year 2025, and 2029. in the next decade there will be a 2x altcoin season waiting and that will all create a new ATH. and every altcoin season that occurs ethereum increases 2x. so it means that in 2025 ethereum will be worth more than 2k and at the end of 2029 1ETH will be worth more than 5K.

This is a safe prediction I think. An increase of 1x every that's going to pass although we knew that Ethereum could pump as much as it can just like what it did last time.

Ten years is a very very very long time in crypto. 10 years ago bitcoin was taking its baby steps, there was no ethereum, not even litecoin I think, maaaaybe namecoin as the second biggest one if I am not wrong which you could mine along with bitcoin because they were mineable at the same time. So, that means in 10 years we could see a lot of different things in crypto, specially a lot of changes in the rankings and all the new ones.

Look at polkadot for example, it didn't exist a year ago, today it is in top 5, I have been around for nearly 8 years now and I even don't know what polkadot is and never checked it and it still managed to break into top 5, which means anything could happen. Maybe in 10 years time Ethereum will be 20k? Maybe it will be few hundred at best because better things came out until 2030? Who knows whats going to happen, we have no idea.

@ipanks, Ethereum is a decentralized network based cryptocurrency and it impossible for it to lift up the price by itself though this is something done by a centralized coin team.
With that been said, after ETH2.0 second phase which is the final phase is successful I expect ETH to worth a better price for the miners is said to be guilty of a dump in the price of the market sometimes.

ETH 2.0 is already in testing phase which developed to resolve the high gas fee hopefully it would get succeed in next few months. Everything is possible on cryptomarket and since ETH is the top altcoins, this can be more possible. ETH still need to improve their system and also need to solve the higher gas fees transactions. Yesterday I have made a transaction and from time to time saw that Metamask offered me to pay +120$ as a fee for a quick transaction. That is an average monthly pension of a Russian pensioner, somewhere in deep of the country. If it continues like that, Ethereum will be dead in a couple of years.

I think the main idea is that to share your own thoughts and see how many people agree with you and make a decision based on that. It is not to ask advice from a person who knows it very well but more about sharing ideas to see what is mostly thought about.

By your analogy we could say that this is more about how a ton of weather forecast channels all get together, all share their data, and everyone who uses line of logic says something and people decide based on that, if 100 channels with 100 different weather data get together and 90 of them says there will be rain tomorrow, it is not 100% guaranteed that it will rain, but you still take your umbrella with you just in case anyway. This is the same logic, if 100 people were asked what will happen to eth in 10 years and 90 of them says it will go up, you might just hold to your ETH just in case.

We'll see. So far, Ethereum is getting close towards the $2k price range. Fees are soaring like crazy because of the "De-Fi" hype. If people keep pouring money into ETH, prices will only go higher in the upcoming months. And if developers continue to "roll out" new network upgrades, mainstream adoption will rise like skyrocket. Ten years is a lot in the crypto/Blockchain space. Many new and exciting things can happen, leading Ethereum towards new ATHs. If ETH hits $15k in a decade from now, then early adopters will be able to reap lots of profits. Who knows how big the ETH ecosystem will be by then?

I wouldn’t be surprised if ETC isn’t the dominant ethereum chain in the future. Here’s why...

1. Code MUST be law when being used at such a high level of technology. (Voting, securities registration, self executed contracts, etc...)

2. Economics are sound with the 210,000,000 hard cap (now 210,700,000) to account for the 51% attack supply increase.

3. 24 hour Trading volumes are consistently > 100% total supply. How? It takes 10k (Coinbase) to 80k (kraken) confirmations currently to confirm. That’s a HUGE disincentive to day trade or make use of ETCs low tx fee.

4. DCG currently has 12,250,000 in the ETCG trust. That is 10.5% of circulating supply. Someone owns those coins, and they are spoken for at a rate 4x the ETH held in the ETHE fund.

5. The banks and conglomerates who invested HEAVILY in the EEA in 2015/2016 will, in my opinion, not stand to be frontrun by a bunch of “bitcoin come latelys” who want to get exposure to this space but have a hard time parting with 300$ to get 0.00something of ANYTHING. The majority of ETH “investors” I talk to think that ETH is an anolog to bitcoin.

6. Think of the fraud and malinvestment that the ETH chain is riddled with. It seems like only 6 months ago there was a new defi “hack”/exit scam every 3rd day. That's certainly true, mate. Ethereum was never meant to be a store of value. It was meant to be used as "gas" for the computation of smart contracts (decentralized applications). There's a reason why developers didn't establish a hard cap in ETH's supply since its creation. Right now, prices are rising to the moon because of the hype surrounding crypto/Blockchain tech. Everyone has a different opinion on what ETH will be like, but I think the most realistic approach is not to look at the past but to look at what some of the other things have done. For example, I believe we will not become from 9 dollars to 2k dollars type of increase once again, that would be 400k+ per ethereum or something and I doubt that would happen.

However I think if you look at decent stocks and gold and stuff like that you will realize that reaching about 100k is not impossible, reaching 50k is actually quite achievable as well. So in 10 years, I am sure (can't guarantee it) price will be 50k+ and that will probably result with people who go "I wish I bought at 2k price" in the future as well because that is 25x return and believe it or not, having 25x return in 10 years is actually quite amazing. $10k per ETH is way too much, in my own opinion. The ever-increasing supply of ETH will prevent this from becoming a reality anytime soon. Even if it reaches $10k, it will go down the drain faster than you could ever imagine. A more realistic price would be $2k - $5k per coin within a decade from now. And that is still ridiculously expensive. For what I know, ETH's popularity is increasing at a fast pace. At the same time, development is surging towards new heights. There are many interesting projects built on Ethereum that are gaining traction in the mainstream world. Projects like Uniswap, Aave, Compound.Finance, and Curve.Finance are in the spotlight right now. The last time i checked the market value of ethereum were at $1,200 and it is higher enough compared to the time i remembered its value when i first landed here in this platform and getting know more about cryptocurrencies. It's market value didn't flactuate that much unlike bitcoin but all i can say that Ethereum were more better than any kind of altcoins. eth never runs out of power because eth still continues to operate but eth just experienced a technical issues and that stops it from growing further for a while but as soon as this issues were addressed eth can get to that destination that some of us wanted but i agree that 10 years might not be enough to reach the said price .

It's true that ethereum won't get into that price level until solving the current gas fee problems, but it's just temporary IMO. As long as bitcoin's on the action and alt season isn't finished properly, etherem might hit $3k pr more within this year instead of having high gas fees as DeFi hype is still on track. TBH, it's now totally depend on the success of ETH2.0 , especially on the implementation of sharding chain. Though good news about ethereum might pump it into half of those high price target.

There is no straight answer to this question, The answer is hidden behind " How fast Ethereum Developers team will be able to deliver ETH 2.0 which is being delayed again and again. I am afraid the current situation of Huge Gas and Transaction fee has forced new/old projects  projects to switch to Binance , Heco, Dot . ADA and many other networks who are offering better service at very low price. It actually did lost momentum a bit, not a lot but a bit. During the last bull run, binance managed to go from 40 dollars to 340 dollars whereas ethereum was moving from 1.8k to 2k, that was it, and when the crash happened binance was still waaaay above what it used to be, it was insanely high, whereas ethereum dropped to negative to 1.5k, so basically ethereum already lost some of its momentum to binance and there is no rewind of that.

I have to say that unless ETH manages to drop that fee structure, we can even eventually see ethereum losing its place in second rank because of how terrible the fee's are and that is when we will actually start to do something. Right now, there are many alternatives that are superior than Ethereum in terms of transaction capacity. There's nothing stopping ETH rivals from getting increased adoption in the mainstream world. What they lack is developer interest, as most developers are still relying on ETH for their own creations. It's why ETH is still the #1 platform in the world, even with high fees and slow transaction confirmation times in play. That could change in the future if ETH doesn't scale in time. There is not a single person on earth that can make a decision on what will happen 10 years from now with 100% precision, it is obvious that we are going to have to live in a situation where we will have to live with just predictions and guess and assumptions because that's all we have. It is world's second largest crypto currency today but with lot of competitors like, Polka dot, ADA. are taking Market share of Ethereum as they are much faster and less costly. How many people actually believe Ethereum can overtake Bitcoin to become the leading crypto? I do not see it happening.

I am also a bit surprise that they are actually believing that ethereum will overtake the current market value of bitcoin which is a $1,600 was too far from realistic of $52,370 bitcoin price today. It's a tough challenge for the blockchain team behind the ethereum how they can manage to overtake bitcoin.

$10k is no question as we're about to see it go to $2k

I will be glad to see ethereum hitting a new ATH of $2,000 rather than thinking how it would overtake bitcoin coz in due respect to other this thing was too far from realistic.

Well it's very difficult to predict what will be price of any crypto in coming days and it's impossible to predict with certainty the price of ETH after 10 years. My own guess will be in coming years the way things are going Eth may reach 10k.

If we want to make sure ethereum will surge in price in 10 years from now, we need to fix the ethereum most problem : high gas fees !!. If it does not fix in two or three years from now, i doubt people will use ethereum again in the next 10 years, most likely they gonna move to ada or BSC or DOT.

I would say $10k in a 10 years from now if the therium will always still continue increase the price and must better to keep some etherium and buy some more different altcoins because there is a chance altcoins will be followed by etherium for increasing the prices. But sometimes we dont expect it would be drop much the price and we all know it is part in crypto to drop the price and high so we dont need expected on that.

well, I am quite happy to see how enthusiastic people are responding to ethereum. Personally, I also aim to get back into possession of ethereum, and keep it for a long time. however, I also believe Ethereum's price can reach that price, even without a boost from bitcoin. however, the $ 10k price tag is likely to be achieved within the next 10 years.

the hype of this year are the defi and the nft but despite all the good or bad news that will come eth will hold out as one of the main altcoins for a long time, in my opinion in a short time it will be able to reach even $ 20K

$20k for eth is that a lot. It has to achieve $10k first before which is going to be the threshold first. But looking at it getting to $2k should be the main priority.
NFT is still on the craze and going to be the fuel for ETH to make those prices be reached.
