Yes although giving yourself a moment to get an overview about the dynamics of the market can't hurt. I am not talking about months, but maybe one or two weeks just to get a feeling about the overall sentiment would be good in crypto I guess. In this case I might have set the goal to buy once Bitcoin drops below $30k.

Bascially, you are right of course and if you are disciplined enough you can go with dollar cost averaging and you can't do too much wrong anyway. I now though that hardly anyone is extremely disciplined and patient (myself included). You'd rather shove your money into Bitcoin today than tomorrow as it is also a fun investment. The good old roller coaster as we all know it.

The term "golden opportunity" is also extremely subjective. For someone who is looking to turn his money into 100x, Bitcoin is probably not going to be the right choice.
