is there someone holding  bitcoin from early 2010   when the price is around 0.01 and still not selling today?    just wondering?
Everybody thinks that if they bought bitcoin in 2010 they would also be holding today and would be super rich, I have been around longer than most people here, I have been here for a long long time and I have met with people who bought bitcoin under 100 dollars and I have met with some people who bought under even 33 dollars, but I have met one single person who "mined" 10k+ bitcoins for nearly free, on very very early days.

Why I said "mined" because he had few computers sitting at home doing nothing so he just mined with them and didn't want to spend money on it.  After all these people I met, do you know what's the common thing between them is? They all sold before it was even 10k dollars, they sold at around 1400 dollar peak times mostly, but they sold under 5k for sure. Do they still have some? Most of them have zero, but some of them have about 1% of what they used to have, so I can tell you that even if you bought at 2010, you would have sold already.

Anyone who is still holding btc since from 2010 till now have really fought through a huge temptation over the years to still retain the amount of btc they bought long ago,
Or some of those who are still holding since 2010 can niether access their wallet because they can't find the p/key, because am finding it hard to understand what will make someone to be a die hard hodler  Grin, those people should be awarded for having so much courage.  Cool

I have a friend who has more than 1000 Bitcoin, and his private keys were on a pendrive, and the pendrive burned, he has had them since 2009 when he claimed them in a faucet, he did everything to be able to enter the pendrive but He never made it, I think he already gave up, otherwise he would be a millionaire, I don't know how he can fall asleep every night with that, but now I think he already has.I no longer believe that he can recover them, I believe that at the time he did everything possible to be able to access them, and without his private key his only consolation is that he is not the only one who has lost such a fortune, there are many more who have tried to recover the private key but it is really impossible.

I wonder if when quantum computing is implemented it will be possible? however, I don't think that even with quantum algorithms they can access and decipher those codes. Satoshi Nakamoto thought of everything, many discussions have been generated around this, and they have concluded that quantum technology will not be able to decipher them.

With bitcoin being a very big thing today, one may opt to ensure his/her safety first. So there's a high possibility that no one will publicly declare that they were pioneer holders out of their concern for their privacy. And I don't really see the point of telling people that you are a pioneer holder anyway so there's that.
True Bitcoin has reached a unique height today Bitcoin is now very popular with everyone How to move forward Bitcoin will be a symbol of confidence for everyone Hopefully Bitcoin will go much further

yes i think you are trying to highlight the profit. But think about other side also security, patient ..etc. If we are trying to hold for a long time, my recommendation is we need to use some good hardware wallet like leger nano. Unless it will be a risk by holding like that.

I wish I was one of those people who have been HODLing a great number of Bitcoins.  Grin  I would get very rich by now. We all say this actually. If Bitcoin didn't reach these levels, we weren't gonna say something like this.

Maybe there is or maybe not, and if there is, I don't think it will be transparent because in my opinion this is personal, especially in large numbers of bitcoins that will be kept secret, maybe because they don't want to take risks, from crime if it is known.
So whoever they are or all of us with different bitcoin holdings will be kept secret, so even if there were, we wouldn't know.
and according to the news there are some people who have had a very large amount of bitcoins from 2010 or so but forgot the password.

I firmly agreeing with your statement mate, for sure there is someone who had been an early adopter of bitcoin that has a strong belief in bitcoin and patiently hodling his token for a quite long time and in fact becoming a millionaire for him is truly rewarding. Good to know for those who have kept their private keys and being able to access their wallets but there are also some other cases that other cannot access their wallets a a number of bitcoin token in their wallets left unaccessible.

Don't just wish, do it, it's not too late to invest and hold, some investors are successful by just constantly buying a small amount of bitcoin until they accumulate a decent amount and they have a good value already based on the current price of bitcoin, and for sure bitcoin will still rise in the long run.

There might be few people in our forum holding good number of Bitcoin from the early days. In y thinking right now our forum will be having good number of users holding more than 5 bitcoin which itself a big thing compared to the total supply to the entire world population. Myself had a thought of holding 21 bitcoin, but it looked expensive few years back and now the past looks like an opportunity.

For sure those people who are still holding bitcoins from early 2010 will not declare that they still have lots of bitcoin in their wallet for security measures. It could be a very big amount already once they sell their bitcoins when the market starts to recover again.

Satoshi was probably one of them. He was the first person behind bitcoin and he did take advantage of accumulating more bitcoin when the price was still very cheap. But for a middle class person like me, i might be a billionaire by now if i was able to hold bitcoin since 2010 and sell it when the price is surging.

Forget about the past and make a difference in the present. You might say the same thing if you don't know bitcoin starting today and you don't continue your accumulation on it.
Everyone is going to be rich with patience and proper understanding in the market as they hold and buy bitcoin. While bitcoin hasn't reached more than the all time high, do what you think is right right now and that is to own a single bitcoin.

I don't think there's anyone holding from 2010 who hasn't sold to date. I think that every human being must have lust and fear, and when someone feels they have made a lot of profit, they will definitely sell what they have and are afraid that the price will return to a small number. but in my opinion, someone starting in 2010 has been familiar with bitcoin and trading up to this point, I'm sure there is.

I know a couple of guys who got their first coins in 2011. Right now, they have less coins when compared to me. It is hard to avoid the temptation to sell at least some of your coins, when the correction phases happen very frequently. There is always a fear of Bitcoin plateauing and then gradually going down. This was the case especially in 2015 and 2018, when the exchange rates plummeted by 80%-85%. It is hard even for very experienced users to refrain from panic selling, especially when they hear such rumors.

I applaud your openness by publishing if you have a large amount of Bitcoin, perhaps this expresses your satisfaction at having managed to hold a large amount of Bitcoin.  but if it is too transparent to be published it can backfire for you because it can easily invite crime to hack into your storage wallet

is there someone holding  bitcoin from early 2010   when the price is around 0.01 and still not selling today?    just wondering?
There may be but rarely. Long-term investment is indeed very difficult, especially for a period of 11 years, 5 years, the possibility of a lot of temptation. But I'm sure there are still people here who have invested for a long time. So making their investment now makes him a young retiree thanks to his patience.

It's definitely rare these days holding your coins eifor such a long time. Bullish seasons have come so most of them have been tempted to sell because of the huge profits that are waiting for them once they decide to sell their coins.

But not all of them. Some have been very patient to keep holding their coins until it reaches a very high value. Either they are making it for the sake of their retirement in the future or they are just not contented yet with the current price at the moment.

11 years hold is a long time, at 1 cent and now around $34k is an amazing thing, I bet it only happens to 1 in 1 million people, first time I bought btc in 2015 for $210 and held almost a year ago selling for $450.

At least in your case, you got $450 per coin when you sold them. For me, I received just around $220 per coin, when I sold a part of my stash in 2015. I don't have much regret, because I had purchased the coins in 2012, for an average price of $10 per coin. And also, there is no point in holding on to all of your coins. Because you need to sell them at some point and also the new investors may find the prices too unaffordable if no one sells them. In my case, I sold them when the prices were very low. I would have been in a very good position if I held on to all those coins.. but whatever happened just happened and we need to move on.

Holding on for 11 years is certainly not an easy thing, the temptation is also very much of course,
just imagine if in 2010 we already have bitcoin and sell it at this time of course we can buy everything Grin,
in 2015 you could say the price of bitcoin is still cheap if we compare the current price

Temptation is only one part, sometimes a little bit of inattention about bitcoin's value and fear at key moments also make us abandon the decision to hold because I heard a lot of stories about bitcoin pizza and some computer engineers sold their hard drive and it contained a large amount of bitcoin, just estimate such numbers and after more than ten years, a lot of misses, instead of a stroke of luck. A decade where so much has changed for bitcoin, believe we're old and just reminiscing about the past and a little regret

And there were others who have also bought during the earliest and probably have sold when it's worth a buck or two. We'll never really know how massive our investments going to be in the future and this is the reason why HODL until you are satisfied with your profit.

Of course there are people who are still holding them. This website shows top Bitcoin addresses that have been dormant for at least 5 years. This includes addresses from 2010. Obviously, It's hard to distinguish the addresses whose owners could have lost access to those that are still accessible but among them, I believe there are people who are still faithfully holding their coins.

Yes, I also think there are still several people that are still holding them. However, due to privacy and security reasons, they will not disclose their identity in this forum or even in different platforms. You wouldn't want to be targeted by the hackers if it were you, do you? They certainly have plans for long term that's why they are still holding it. Surely, these people know how to plan, play and strategize.

Although for sure, there are many people that already sold a portion of their fund during the year 2017 when bitcoin was really bullish. I can't blame them though. After all, we have our own personal reasons why we sell our assets.
