1270901 so, 127, as in the private class A? os is it 1.27.09.01? 12.70.90.1?
I was under the impression it was 127.0.90.1  Wink

ahh, imagine that. listed as a Japanese addy here; http://iplocation.pythonclub.org/127.0.90.1.html

edit; before you get all autisticy on me. I know the 127 block is reserved for loop-back.....  still weird that entry is there with a recent date of jan. 4th 2012 apparently on that site, all 127.*.*.* are in Japan. =)

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

But she just said "Oh I know that IP!"
Which of course, it the slightly more fundamental problem, the idea people would recognize IPs and be able to match them to individuals.  Then again, this wasnt a show about TCP-IP, so who cares.

Wait what? Oh stupid me, I thought 127.0.0.1 was in a /8, I guess it is not.

That is cool.
Could someone please identify the block which contains this so those of us who don't have a full copy of the blockchain can verify it online?
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/14358031?show_adv=yes

It's in the CoinBase.

Can you ridiculous autistics stop complaining about the ip address being wrong?  That's the kind of shit that causes SA to create a 600 page thread about you.

It seems to have had the desired effect.

From the article:

Quote
Apparently, Bitcoin is actually a real thing, invented by someone with the possibly pseudonymous name of Satoshi Nakamoto. I was totally ignorant of this phenomenon until I googled it after the show, and the discovery makes me sympathize with Alicia when she tells Zach, “This stuff makes me feel so dated.” Executive producers Robert and Michelle King must have anticipated this response from their audience, because the episode does, in fact, play rather like “Bitcoin for Dummies.”

I missed it.  Sad  Anywhere to watch it online that doesn't involve breaking the law?

http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_good_wife/video/2186658794/the-good-wife-bitcoin-for-dummies

If CBS doesn't hate you/your country.
Thanks.  It wasn't on there when I looked, but I got sleepy and went to bed instead of continuing to look for a place to watch.  I'll check it out this evening though!

Probably because Facebook and whatever the equivalent of FactSwim is are trademarked, and can't be used without corporate authorization and all that BS.  No one owns a trademark on "Bitcoin", and let's hope it stays that way!

Amen to that.

I did wonder why they bothered to change the logo on the bitcoins for the spoof commercial they had though. Likely just to avoid any 'potential' issues in case there ever were to be any? Which at this point, there are not.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

edit2; If I am reading right the IP to first relay it was Deepbit's.

edit3; It appears to have been 'found' by Deep's IP as well. So Luke signed the transaction but deep found and relayed it? really not sure here.

in the same vein they use the word of the actual "internet" and not something like "interweb" or "worldnet".
