Tesla is actually setting up standards for other companies to follow thereby increasing the market volatility of bitcoin. In the nearest future other companies like Tesla would also start accepting bitcoin as a means of payment for commodities purchased and services rendered. The future indeed is crypto.

To fit in to the season of block chain harvest it would be pretty cool if everyone buys bitcoin on matter how small a quantity the can afford which indeed would appreciate massively in the future so as to meet up with future societal trends

As I understand, you can buy Tesla with Bitcoin only in US. I've checked Tesla webpage for UK and Belgium, and the only option to pay were EUR and GBP. Funny, that you can order Tesla just by using credit card, which I doubt has a that size daily limit.
Maybe this option is available in other, more cryptocurrency friendly, countries. But I think it will be like with PayPal - available only for US.

Bruh, in his tweet he has stated that bitcoin payment method outside the US will be available later this year, although I know that maybe elon musk is talking about a developed country or first world country that's outside the US but it's still outside the US since the regulation betweet each country really differ so it's not as easy as it seems since he's also dealing car in this case which considered as luxury stuff for some countries.

Sorry, I was inattentive. I saw that Tesla accepts Bitcoin, but havent checked his tweets below.
Tell, do I understand it right - it is only announced that Tesla can be bought using Bitcoin, and there were no real deals right now? So it is more like just an intention to sell for Bitcoin and today it is still impossible to transfer Bitcoin and get a car? (I dont want to go through all these order procedure till the stage where you need to pay for Tesla. Dont want register on tesla.com atm)

With current price volatility of bitcoin I don’t think it’s a good idea to accept bitcoins. Nonetheless it’s a welcome move for bitcoin adoption as mainstream payment method. More companies will jump in as price of bitcoin gets stable. Soon, other giants should start adopting as well, which should stabilize the price of Bitcoin even more.

Very good news for crypto users. It gives a positive vibe nowtime,  people will focus more than before and step by step BTC will go ahead. The decision of Elon will make the world easy for BTC those who banned BTC yet can understand the value or possibilities of cryptocurrencies. May be the world will be more familiar for BTC oneday.

I would say it is both good for Tesla and for Bitcoin. It is good for Bitcoin because now that Tesla accepts Bitcoin as payment since we know how popular Tesla is, this will attract more users in the Crypto industry resulting in massive adaptation. Besides, this will lead other large companies to follow Tesla and accept Bitcoin as payment as well. Moreover, I think it will be easier for Tesla to sell their cars in this way because it is very convenient. The benefits of tesla here is that it could be a direct investment in Bitcoin and this could possibly generate a bigger profit.

Not converting the btc to fiat? then they will keep holding the btc? Then how about in their financial report? how can they report their income or profit if the currency is not converted?
But well, i don't know is that great or bad idea for the company, since the stock price is really volatile. How if they experienced loss for selling the products just because the btc price decreases? Is there any way to prevent that? if not, then it might be bad for the company. And i don't think the management or investors may like that idea.

very correct thinking from you, that what you say in outline certainly makes sense. The company certainly needs bookkeeping that can record it if a purchase occurs, if a purchase uses bitcoin, of course, the amount paid using bitcoin needs to be immediately changed to fiat. otherwise, there could be a difference with the receipts provided because we know that bitcoin changes in price very quickly.

but for investment, it may still be acceptable because usually large companies also invest a lot in stocks and dollars. to seek profit in the future. so if changed to Bitcoin it is clearly more useful and more profitable. because bitcoin is a very profitable investment for the long term.

I don't know maybe the reason could be that they want to increase their investment into Bitcoin. I guess the number of people who would like to buy Tesla with BTC won't be even close to the ones who buy with fiat. Hence, they may want to add the income to their 1.5 billion-dollar investment. Otherwise, I don't see any better reason to keep it as BTC.

It seems to me that in any country, any tax return can contain information that a company or a person owns a certain amount of cryptocurrency. The state itself decides how to tax this asset or not to tax it at all. If there are no such laws, then the tax will not be charged. On the other hand, every person, as well as the company, has the right to sell their goods for any Fiat currency, as well as exchange goods for goods. Thus, if a person buys a car from Tesla using Bitcoin, then this can be perceived as an exchange of goods for goods. At least on the legal plane, this issue is completely resolvable.

yes, with Tesla accepting payments using Bitcoin, then this will make Bitcoin more popular and of course that will make a lot of people start to investing in Bitcoin, so the price of Bitcoin will increase very high and of course the price of altcoin will increase too, so we will get a lot of profit from investing in cryptocurrency at this time.

Many people were already very excited to hear that Tesla was thinking to add Bitcoin as a payment method. And now, it has come true and people can really buy Tesla with BTC. But still I haven't heard anyone who bought a Tesla by this way. Until someone buys one, I will have my doubts about whether it is real.  Grin

Just wait and for sure Elon Musk will reveal someone who used Bitcoin to buy Tesla car/s  it's not impossible since

there are many elite investors who are in his circle who also have Bitcoin assets, time will come and a transaction

will be there, additional advertisement for both side, Bitcoin to attained more recognitions while Tesla as company

will also gain it shares for more publicities coming from crypto investors.

This is one of the best news for Bitcoin. Tesla is like it is making a big effort for Bitcoin price to reach greater levels.  Grin  Firstly, they have bought huge amount of BTC (which is valued  $1.5 billion) and now they started accepting Bitcoin on their car sales. And they won't even convert it to fiat which shows they are intending to increase their investment.
Well, because in the first place --Tesla company is holding a lot of bitcoin, they want this because they understand that bitcoin is good for storing value and Elon Musk is a clever business that when it comes to money, he invest whatever he wants. That is included in his tweet that the bitcoin they receive will not be converted into fiat. So this is expecting that there could be a hype of bitcoin for the next few months. However, but for me, I will not buy bitcoin to pay Tesla immediately, I will store it and wait for the price to double and get Tesla for free.

It is the smart thing to do I think. Because it is very likely for the price to reach at least 100k dollars in this year. While there is a huge anticipation about it, why would I also buy a Tesla now?

Considering how famous Tesla and Elon Musk is all over the world right now, having bitcoin as a mode of payment will surely benefit both sides. Like for instance, as Tesla accepts bitcoin as a payment, they have all the capability to hold it and wait till its value grow more while bitcoin is gaining much attention since it is being recognized by a globally popular company. Afterwards, bitcoin will also be noticed by huge companies all over the world and as it gains attention, the demand for it will increase which will soon result on having a higher value and higher recognition that it has before.

After 3 years out of BTC I'm back and checking all file backups for any version of a backed up wallet and if I find any Satoshi in some hidden change addresses – maybe now I'm not only going to find some Satoshis but hopefully a brand new f'in TESLA …  Roll Eyes

While you are going deep into your treasure hunt keep in mind all the possible bitcoin forks you may also claim if you are in control of the private keys of the Btc you eventually find https://www.bitcoinforks.io/

Good luck with that.

PS: once I read a useful guide here in bitcointalk on all btc forks and  how to claim them but cannot find it now by hand.

Thanks & thanks for the heads up about all the forks.  Smiley

this news is bullish but it was inevitable after Elon Musk's publicly expressed interest.
I think the question now is not when will a new big tech company invest in bitcoin but rather which one?

does this include a profitable strategy from both sides between bitcoin and Tesla?
see now with this news I think the price of bitcoin will soar and the stock price of Tesla also has a high increase. So this is a great move for the second promotion

Tesla already has close to 100% unrealized profit from their first investment in Bitcoin (which was done in January 2021, for a total amount of $1.5 billion). So obviously if the Bitcoin prices go up, then it is going to benefit Tesla. Another important point to note here is that Tesla has announced that they are not going to convert their Bitcoin revenue to fiat currency. So eventually, their Bitcoin stash is going to go up further.
