It can be both, though; I'm using bitcoin as an investment tool and as a coin that can be used without paying taxes and to replace conventional forms of payment.

So, in some ways, bitcoin is there to make some people rich and prosperous because market forces such as supply and demand exist.

If you only keep bitcoin until now, you will make a lot of money, so theoretically, bitcoin is making you rich by gaining income.

Those who have invested early or working with Bitcoin from starting are now millionaires(the one's still holding their coins) with freedom so they are enjoying both the benefits of Bitcoin which is :
1)Freedom from any centeral authority of chian and having complete control of our own funds
2)Profit gain with 50-60k% returns which is huge number

So we can't say Bitcoin is only used as decentralised currency because many are using it as investment tool as well.The twin winklevoss brothers were first Bitcoin billionaire as they invested in bitcoin from the compensation ($65 million) they got from facebook.So it's all about how you use Bitcoin as it has gained different meanings over 12 years of period.You can google the list for Bitcoin billionaire and you will find many names in Forbes list also.

Although Sathoshi has created Bitcoin with aim of first fully decentralised currency that runs on trust system or concesus mechanism of POW but he is also holding 1 million Bitcoin not only with the aim of freedom?He is among Forbes list of Richest person on planet and that because of bitcoin only.So it is how you use it.

I also think so that there is a problem with money, namely, that money simply loses its value and it is not very profitable to save money now. I chose this strategy, I just make money and spend it on the necessary goods for life. I also spend part of the funds in cryptocurrency and keep BTC and some altconiv. It is difficult to say what exactly will happen next, but at the moment I believe that I have chosen the right strategy.

That's very true, if I put all of my fiat to savings account last year, and kept saving 10% of all my income towards that and kept it going up and up and up that would have resulted with nearly 10% return this year and that's a damn great thing by the way, that's a great increase in the fiat world, nobody makes that kind of return in nations like USA or UK and whatever, but you know what the inflation here is?

It is nearly getting to 50%, they will not tell you this, they will hide this from you and official places will say like 15-20% at max, but the reality is 50% and that's why all of my money became useless. What do I do with crypto? I make 5x more with it, that's the reason why I love saving up bitcoin.

Of course that was always the purpose of this experiment from the get go.  To bring financial power back to the individual.  It has morphed into a scammers haven but if you wade through the sludge crypto is as promising as anything else in this world today

Those "get rich real quick" mindset has been going on since Bitcoin pumped to $100 in 2013 and it has been going on till now. Honestly, majority of the people invested in Bitcoin sees Bitcoin as an investment tool that could make every holders rich. I don't usually hear like they're using Bitcoin to buy product or pay for service so Bitcoin could grow it's adoption as a currency used for everyday transactions, I know there were people loves doing this, but there's like 60%-70% (my mere calculations) who has been invested just to hold.

Anyway, the OP title is correct. Bitcoin has been created to make us free from traditional baking system and any third party companies when doing transaction from another person. Becoming rich with it is just an incentive for trusting this technology.

Bitcoin is made for having an alternative currency for fiat currency, as what your title has said, bitcoin wasn't created to make you rich, yeah Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't have the intention to make us rich from bitcoin because its value at its very first launch is very cheap but now a lot of things have changed and a lot of people are now rich because of bitcoin. well, since getting to know crypto, I think I've gained some freedom in the economy. My thoughts is that bitcoin is just a medium to help you become rich or financially stable, in the end you are the one that needs to utilize those tools given to you, what I mean by that is you do have bitcoin but you don't know what to do next so you are just stuck into hodling only which isn't helpful if you want to get financially stable. In general, I agree. Bitcoin is not about wealth, not about accumulating money. It's about opportunities and freedom. It is a digital analogue of money that expands our capabilities. I believe that Bitcoin was created for a lot of things, whatever opportunity you see there, it’s good to take it , if you’re going to be able to get rich through bitcoin then you should make sure not to miss that kind of opportunity.

A lot of people have gotten rich through bitcoin, and their life has changed for the better, so it’s not bad if that’s your target to achieve.
