Which device is much used for the purpose of gambling these days. Before covid-19 people kept moving without restrictions and the lockdown around the world have made lot of changes in everyone's life. As a result the usage of Mobile devices for the purpose of gambling have decreased and the usage of desktop and laptops have increased. I'm stating this based on friends around me and not on any data gathering. Sorry if things were wrong.

Through this thread lets share the device thats been used by you for the purpose of gambling. My 90% of gambling activities were on Mobile devices. This has given me lots and lots of memories. Whenever I pass some region I remember the loss and the place associated with it.

Aroud my region there is a beauty salon. Crossing that I remember I made an expensive haircut here, because I lost $2000 through gambling while waiting for a haircut. Another one is a hospital where I lost some big amount in the premises. Once lost while waiting for withdrawal from ATM. The biggest and the most remembered is my home where I lost that massive loan amount of about $9500. So, gambling has given me more memories.

I usually like to gamble on sports from my laptop. I can check out multiple sites for odds and compare them side by side easier on the laptop vs mobile. My main wallet is also only connected to my laptop and not my phone.

Where did you get this? It's kinda impossible that the usage of mobile devices recently was decreased, growth of gamblers using online gambling for me will also result of an increase in usage on mobile devices and desktops/laptops too, it's already given, either of these two, both increased.
Most of the people for sure these days have smartphones compare to desktops/laptops.

Just curious here. Do you gamble when you are at work?  If you are traveling, I think the most convenient way to use is your smartphone. But me, since I only gamble when I am at home, I use my laptop. I prefer using laptop as it has bigger screen as compared to if I use smartphone. These days, I think, a lot of gamblers are into smartphones, just for convenience. Because even if they are at home, they can bring their phone anywhere without much effort.

I'm comfortable when I use a laptop or desktop, that's what I like when I'm in the right place. Yes, the screen size does matter and not all of us have good and clear eyesight it varies as we get older. Although you can zoom in and out the screen for the mobile device but for me, I only use it with the situation I've mentioned and I'm not always on the go. It really relies on how comfortable you are with any of those you prefer.

Bigger screen are much preferable by me since there are certain features nor sides cannot be access by mobile phones that's why I choose always to play on desktop when playing on casinos. But case will be different to on sports betting since phone is enough, we don't need any more clicks and we can bet using single click only.

I'm more a laptop person when I'm gambling. I don't know I'm not comfortable with my phones, I guess I'm old school when doing my sports betting, I have multiple tabs open to check the odds and my bets and then opening other sports sites as well. Most sites have terrible mobile interface and the inconvenience of a small screen when comparing odds is just something I try to avoid whenever possible. I use a laptop and compare odds across multiple betting websites before submitting them. I do sometimes use a mobile phone when on the go to check odds but I do usually place the bets on the laptop. I think this depends on the type of site though as I would only use the combination of the above if it was for sports betting. If I was looking to get a game of poker in it would most definitely have to be on my laptop.

You could take a look at the total downloads of apps that are on the app store and see how many downloads there were this is probably the only way to gauge how many people have downloaded and at least considered using the site with their phone. There will probably be private surveys done by betting companies to better tailor their experience to the user but I doubt they would publish this information for free.

The generation today is using phones all the time, they even have 2 to 3 phones with them while commuting the train. Even the homeless does have an iPhone to use just to browse the internet and just about everything on facebook.  There are reasons for using desktops and laptops but most of the people today somehow are comfortable using phones already even for gambling because its much convenient and you can bring it anywhere.

I used my laptop and then my mobile phone and Ipad for convenience sometimes. I guess it depends on what we are comfortable in the end. I see guys some play with their mobile phones specially slot games. But there are guys that I know who love to bet and play using their laptop.

So I guess to each it's own here, the same when doing our trading. So as long as you are having fun and getting the most benefits out of our gambling activity, it doesn't matter what devices we are going to used.

Laptop or computer is better than mobile devices since you can basically do more with it and it is more spacious compared to a phone, not to mention that you can't really trust the scan of your phone for threats compared to a laptop or computer but the best thing about mobile is that it is portable compared to both, so I guess that both have some benefits.

I myself use a desktop but fr, if you have the funds, even with a desktop, you'd honestly opt to use a laptop/mobile since it's a lot easier to bring with you around, plus, you can choose a location to play in that can probably soothe yourself. I haven't left much due to the lockdowns here and there, but there was an instance where I was able to leave and stay in a pretty good cafe for a few hours, so I started playing. Had some fun even though I lost.

Most of the time I use my laptop/desktop because the experience is much better compared to mobile/tablet, it takes more effort when you go from one gambling site to the other and sometimes you get logged out from the site every 10-20 mins when you tab out just to check another casino. I mostly agree that it will be on mobile device since it's handy to use and wherever you go you can take it. I never tend to remember those memories especially if it's a lost one moreover it will only get more regrets and it will never change the fact that it happen. I would also opt for this one if I wouldn't get robbed in my city when I am using an electronic device in public, I wouldn't really risk it and with desktop, you can be sure that it is safe because it won't move anywhere at the least my home security is good.

I do play neither of the two as long i can deal with my gambling activity with a bigger screen rather than on a mobile phone which the user experience isnt really that great
and also with processing power where generating some of heavy animations on some sites is just a piece of cake on a desktop than on a mobile.

Well, as you said people has been controlled from going outside because of the pandemic, and the very reason why we have enough time to sit on our desktop computer or laptops.
Most of us here will find convenience gambling through a laptop or desktop computer because its much easier to navigate the gambling website than in the mobile website environment, plus mobile data internet wasn't stable (depends on the location) in my country.

I've used a desktop for so many years now that the idea of playing games on a mobile phone feels odd to me - it's a bit too fiddly and makes it way easier to misclick. I tried it on some free poker apps and found it was a lot more difficult to control the bet slider with my finger on the small surface area of the phone. There are even functional differences as well, having played on a popular piece of betting software on the PC I thought of giving the app version a try but it was missing important bits of functionality - even small things like being able to see table statistics or chat history by glancing in the corner is so much easier than having stuff hidden away. Those are without a doubt some big losses but if you can afford them then that is not a problem for you or your family, I can say that almost 100% of my gambling is done through my desktop computer, I do not really like to gamble in mobile devices because the screen is simply too small and I am afraid I'm going to make a mistake and then lose, and as we know losing when you gamble is already hard enough but losing because you misread or failed to click what you wanted is going to be infuriating.

We are only more flexible in terms of interfaces when playing on computers for me this is the best compared to smart phones, but if we use smart phones it will be simpler wherever we want to play gambling, so the tastes are always different and they want in safeguarding which one to use.

That is why I provided a tablet which is very convenient and handy while you are not at home. Basically what you can do with the laptop and desktop today can be done with smartphones already. I'm even trading my coins on binance app with my phone switching tradingview app and Binance app. Playing on a dice site or sports betting can be done as well since I have tried it on stake.com.

Yes, that is right. If you want to have less size, you can use Tab which is not too bigger than a mobile phone. If you do not have anything to do using a laptop, you do not have to carry your laptop everywhere instead of using a mobile phone. I use desktop becasue of it resolution and nothing more becasue the mobile is easier to handle comparing to the desktop. Some website bookmakers do always create alongside the desktop version with their lite version suitable for mobile phones too, so, my preference still be desktop because of resolution, you also go multiple play or opening many tabs for the purpose of comparison between different bookmakers before make the final decision.

Yes it's easier to carry around but for many games it's not easy to use. Small screens and touch screens are not designed for this use case, moreover if you move out of the network signal coverage while you are playing you can lose your game round and your stake. what model is your laptop . actually most laptops has a wifi in them , you can tether your phones connection to your laptop and play there  .

I find that apple has a very good interface as well as a strong fundamental layer. But you can not compare what does not exist yet. Because of the legislation and their policy, it is hard to develop an app on OSX and IOS which prevent gambling industry to flourish on this operating system. Moreover, I feel like Apple is a big centralized empire which collect our data in a more dramstic scale than any other os. People who are favor with being anonymous or at least good with data will definitely do not choose this OS over Windows.

There is such an opportunity, but it's not mainstream yet, which is why only a few casinos offer that opportunity. I've heard of PokerStars VR, but didn't have experience with that, unfortunately, because they only support Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets.
But the reviews aren't that good so far, many players experience glitches, loss of control, etc. Also, some games, like poker, take a lot of time and I imagine that spending 3-4 hours with a headset on might be very distracting and exhaustive.
