I got my guesses right. I went for Prates and Chimaev. Regarding the main event, Chimaev's performance was beyond words. It felt like a training match; he did whatever he wanted, going in and out, and leaving his opponent completely disconcerted. DDP couldn't do it.

Dricus was definitely outclassed in this fight and only at one point did he show any opposition with a potential takedown but this was near the end of the fight.
If the matchmakers want a fight to competitive then they have to put him up against other wrestlers since I remember he had good opposition against Burns and it didn't look like a training or sparring match.

I think the next fight should be someone who fights more on the feet. Because if they put someone who fights like him, it will be a boring, very close fight, which will go to a decision. It should be something similar to DDP. But it's obvious that at some point someone will beat him.

As for this upcoming fight night, most of the names on the preliminary card are not familiar and only recognize two or three on the circuit from Vegas.
But still seeing some fighters on the main card is worth a watch.

RDR may not also succeed in defeating Khamzat, unless he could land hard strike of Khamzat if not Khamzat will still win trying to submit RDR. I was rooting for DDP that fight thinking he could land a strike since he is well rounded in either ground or standing. But it didn't stop Khamzat charging and then taking him every time.  Khamzat will stay as a champ for a long time.

The cage interview was funnier, he already annoyed Dana right in the cage.

I think the amount is basically for scoring as mentioned here, and besides, it may not hurt, but 500 strikes in 25 minutes is 20 strikes per minute. That's a lot, and even if they didn't count as points, the opponent would be shaken, either by pain or by taking so many hits.

I think the next fight should be someone who fights more on the feet. Because if they put someone who fights like him, it will be a boring, very close fight, which will go to a decision. It should be something similar to DDP. But it's obvious that at some point someone will beat him.

Doesn't matter, Khamzat will not let anyone to fight on the feet. Dricus is like a M1A2 SEPv4 Super Battle Tank and he couldn't do anything against Khamzat. If Khamzat keeps this style, every of his fight will be boring but if we bring him a high level wrestler (which I don't know who is in his division), then the fight will be interesting. It will be very nice to see Khamzat VS Makhachev.

Those strikes were very light and insignificant. It was a very boring fight, it was basically hugging of two men. That might be good for Dricus Du Plesis but I didn't know if Khamzat was into such things I'm joking of course but it's really very boring to watch hugging of two amazing fighters. In the end, the most important thing is to win but it's also very important how you win if you care about the audience.

This is not going to be easy fight for prediction like the odds suggest, Zhang is a huge favorite for bookies and he is in great form, but Johnny Walker is just waiting for his chance to comeback winning.
Walker have a good reach advantage and I think we can see big surprise in main event if he survives first few rounds.
This odds are crazy, but I think total over 1.5 rounds are worth taking.

I don't think the fight was boring. There were a lot of takedowns and repetitions, as they were using the same strikes. I agree that it was repetitive, but it wasn't boring, as they were constantly escaping the strikes and trying not to just stand still.

I don't think the fight was boring. There were a lot of takedowns and repetitions, as they were using the same strikes. I agree that it was repetitive, but it wasn't boring, as they were constantly escaping the strikes and trying not to just stand still.

It was a very dense skill fight were both opponents tried to win where they are best at at unfortunately Chimaev knows his grapple game like no one else and it was just a matter of minutes until the winner was declared but it was not a boring fight at all.

What I didn't like from Chimaev was the disrespect towards UFC and Dana after saying that belt doesn't mean anything for him and he wants the money and that will put a black spot in his further career.

I'm sorry for such a dumb question from a huge UFC and MMA fan but I don't really know this. Aljo was Champion recently who protected his belt many times, why does he fight on fight night instead of the main event?

I think its a win win situation for Dana/UFC anyway, china fighter wins they can market UFC and him more in china and get people interested

Because Aljo lost his last fight and Dana White was just waiting for him to fight against so to put him on a Fight Night card. And you can tell from the very start he was not happy about it.
For a non-title fight being 5 rounds he vented his frustration on his socials about it when he was introduced to it on his contract. Getting paid the same for three rounder at the full five.
The UFC CEO hates him all from back when he said he did not want to fight Merab because they are friends. That should not be an excuse to not take a fight when the call is made for you to take fight.

On to the latest Fight Night in Shanghai:
Johnny Walker doing Johnny Walker things at the beginning of his fights.
He landed those two calf kicks that just ruined Zhang's leg where he couldn't stand anymore.
Then in the second round it was over by ground and pound.
Good for those who believed in Walker taking down the Chinese opponent in his own home country.

I think he needs to improve more but I want to see if he can compete with other fighters on top level.

Yeah, 3.90x for Walker to win the main event but to win by KO was 6.40x so even at juicer odds.

The card was pretty good with several upsets and liked the two elbow knockouts.
On my UFC acca I had five fights with all favorites to win and only the main event ruined it.

Watching Walker's fight, I really thought he would lose. But he was well controlled. He still has a lot of room for improvement, but he's showing improvement, at least compared to his last few fights. The UFC needs this kind of fighter, one who sells pay-per-views and improves with each fight.
