What is the best Sport to bet on ?

I think it is defined by the amount of data, which can be gathered around a certain type of sport, rather than personal preferences, like many mentioned here. What if you admire a very unusual sport, and, due to this, it's practically impossible to find some useful info and, in addition, not a lot of sportsbooks offer it and, thus, you can't choose the most preferable odds.
My best choices are NFL and NBA. I've heard many times that people also place bets on College Football, but I've never tried it, I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Actually it's indeed Basketball and Football will gathered most mentioned since they have different teams, players as well categories involved that attract many supporters. There are also different event made for them unlike in some sports whick only happens once in a while when they do a game. Now even there is Pandemic some league or matches continues to play despite some changes they will encounter.

Deciding on what best sport to bet on I think depends highly on your knowledge and familiarity of the sports itself. I 100% agree American Football is profitable and somewhat ok to bet on. NBA would be my second recommendation because of props, good lines. NFL and NBA are also two of the most liquid betting markets, so their lines are significantly structured.

There are also value in underdogs in NHL. Esports is also a booming niche in the betting scene.

Yeah esports got me considering profits compared to any other sports in my more than five years of gambling. I do not have any specific reasons why esports got me good profits whereas normal sports weren't. Because I am watching and I am interested on both of these sports events at the same level still predicting in esports is somehow feasible for me for some hidden reasons.

I guess I have bet on more than 8 different sports as I am following all of them. Probably, having interest on more sports must be the reason why I am not profitable in real sport events.

You have to at least have some experience playing the eSports that you are voting so you can decide which team is going to have a higher chance of winning. It is more better because there are clear favorite teams so you know where to put your money and it is really difficult to root for a team you know isn't going to win.

Not really, it's not like you can like all the sports there is. I find MMA much better than Boxing because you can use almost everything that your body has to win. NFL is just glorified and wimpy kids Rugby with all that armor. Golf for me is just standing and swinging, much like baseball but the ball is not flying at you.

Hmm, betting into eSports may be a little tricky especially if you have little to no idea on what team you are betting one.

Personally, I have gambles most of my resources into eSports and a huge reason for that was my addiction towards computer games. I was able to analyze every team and their picks, see their recent matches, and their win-rate against certain teams so I could at least increase my chances of winning. But if you do not have any prior knowledge as to the game that you are betting on, it is like you are punching your fist in the air and hope for a win.

I watch a lot of snooker and I think I know the sport quite good, but even then it is not always simple to bet on it.
My ROI is only slighty positive after a lot of bets. Quite often surprises happen, especially in the smaller tournaments.
One thing I have learned, I only place bets on the winner (no handicap).

There is just more games during the regular season and it's always unexpected to see the outcome of it. I agree to you that many of the teams are into experimental during the regular ones and  there are also more roster changes that happens.
That's why if you want to bet seriously too, you can take advantage of that season unless you only want to bet during playoffs up to the finals.

I am just kind of curious if anyone has done any research or has any opinions on which sport they think is the best sport to gamble.  I guess I'm looking for both opinions and hard data.

Personally I bet on NFL Football the most, followed by the NBA, MLB, College Basketball and every once in a while I'll bet on a big Soccer ( football for you Euros ) game like the Classico.  For me, Football by far seems to be the easiest sport to bet on.  Baseball and Basketball are too random and their betting lines tend to be a bit more confusing.  With the NFL only having 16 games vs MLB with 162 and the NBA with 82..It seems like there is much less of a chance for an upset or sloppy game vs the other two where the regular season simply doesn't mean nearly enough.

Just curious what you guys think..

Personally I prefer individual sports over team sports when it comes to sport betting, the reason is that when it comes to individual sports you can watch way more closely the performance of the player and draw more accurate conclusions about the outcome of the match, when it comes to team sports there are many things that can intervene that make it way harder to predict which is why you see more upsets on team sports than in individual sports.

Tennis has only 1 disadvantage for gamblers - small amount of matches. If you open any betting page, football section would be one of the biggest. Football matches happens probably 24/7 all around the world. While in tennis there are 1-3 games per day. Of course you can bet on some low level league/players, but then "more predictable" rule stops to work. Btw, snooker can be same successful game for betting as tennis.

IMHO, the best Sport to bet it on is the Sport where you're interested into and have enough knowledge about the game, the association, the players, and even the coaches. These knowledge maybe enough to let you analyze match ups and mitigate the possibility of lossing even betting against the odds.
NBA has been a good betting for Sports for me, simply because I can bet like 3-5 times everyday as there are usually 8 games and 16 teams are playing everyday.
So, when you lose from the current match, then maybe you'll win from the next one. Or win them all, worse lose them all. That's the nature of gambling anyway.

I guess the time will come soon when bets on Tsitsipas can make sense in regards to the odds. Really curious to see how the French Open will go. I think this year Djokovic has a very good chance to beat Nadal although both performed pretty bad in the last tournament. Even they can have a bad day.

Isn't it the same with esports as it is with any other sport? You have to be into it and have at least some clue in order to understand what you are actually doing!

I don't know much about esport, but I know much about soccer, so what is the best sport for me to bet on? Soccer of course! If you know a certain sport very well that is probably the best sport to bet on! You can always gamble on others sports you don't know well just for fun, but that might not be the "best sport to bet on" for you in the literal sense.
