This has got to be the only active non-mobile view having a** forum left on the internet!

Love this site, and the members in it. It's absolutely the best forum I've ever been in...and I've been in A LOT. But boy is it painful to be here, having to pinch and zoom and move the entire screen left and right to follow the line you're reading. Just not ergonomical at all. I find myself coming here to read, participate, share...but no more than 3-4 comments later, going "Ugh!" and leaving the site.

Site admins, developers...What'chay'all waiting for?! How can we (I) help?

I think this probably belongs to the meta section.

It doesn't really bother me, although I rarely write from my cell phone. When I enter from my mobile it is only to read and although I recognize that it would be better to have a mobile version, I don't think it would make much difference (maybe later I would change my mind in view of the facts).

Bitcointalk is doable on mobile, but it sure isn't the best. People have simply been too spoiled with great mobile UX that I don't really blame them for having complaints.

A new forum software in the works (for years already though lol), which is supposedly a lot more mobile friendly.

Having a mobile platform for bitcointalk would be nice but isn't it harder to post through phones, and the pictures sent in this forum would be hard to ratio in mobile. Though all disadvantages has advantages which people can access the site whenever and wherever they are so it might really be good.

And I second the comment of @pokerplayer that this should be in the meta.

This has been asked so many times before, but I don't think that it will ever happen. I am an old school forum user so I don't mind not having mobile version at all, but in order for bitcointalk to stay relevant, it will need constant influx of new users, and younger generations are used to mobile versions of sites.

Well I think it is a good one to have but not that necessary at all.
I have been using this forum for more than 4 years now and most of the time I am posting or reading through my phone and it doesn't bother me at all.

I really don't think it's the age. It's more of the fact that most of us here are computer geeks and do most of our stuff on a computer(not on a smartphone).

I understand the need of the younger generations who want some modern design in the first place, but I think the content is what is much more important - because what would be the most modern forum without people who visit it and give it a certain quality. Personally, I have nothing against the forum as it is today, but I hope (like most) that the new forum will come to life as soon as possible, and that it will finally become mobile friendly - because since I have been on the forum there have been dozens of such questions and requests.

Although we have several older members (the oldest is now about 80 years old - Jet Cash), most are under 40 though - but to you, it’s probably a category of old people

How much are you willing to bet? It can be easily done using a trusted escrow. In my case you'd lose it but I don't know how that could be verified, unless I recorded a video showing an ID. Not that I would want to reveal my real identity either.

OP, did you miss this thread that's still on the first page of Meta?  And did you miss all the other ones that are buried deeper within the pages of the same section?  Point is, this has been brought up and bitched about many times before, and I don't think another thread on the matter is going to sway Theymos's opinion or move his hand to act. 

And as I've said in a few other threads that deal with this forum not having a mobile-friendly version, I agree that it'd be a great idea to have one--but there's nothing much we can do about it since we don't have control over the forum.

I've been hearing that for so long that I've begun to doubt whether I'll see the new forum software in my lifetime.

I use the site a lot on my phone & it’s not a problem for me. If you’re using any decent, modern phone then it shouldn’t be too difficult. The only thing that’s a little annoying is multi quoting.

OP is missing lot of things.

• Newbies - Read before posting
• [Guide] Searching effectively. Please read and apply searching to find many available answers.
• The forum is mobile-friendly enough and it does not actually need a mobile app. As a text-based forum for discussions, mobile app does not solve anything. Typing on your keyboard will be much more easily, faster and more convenient than on mobile devices.
• If only for reading, web browsers are friendly enough to read

Good to see you want to help the forum even you are agreeing to pay for the development of mobile views and apps. But sad to see even you haven't bothered to search related thread herein meta. It's always good to participate in an old thread related to the same topic rather than create a new one.

For me, I don't feel any problems during use this forum on my mobile phone. It's pretty cool that we can use all the features in a mobile phone as well although it's quite complicated. This topic has been discussed many times and we haven't seen any positive responses from the admin. So, I don't think it will happen in current software. Not sure if this implement comes with new software as mentioned above posts. The forum has enough funds to build a couple of apps, but admin still not responding.

I doubt that there is so many member who are above 50, definitely not majority here. I would like to bet, but without KYC there is no way to prove age .
Personally, I make most of my posts here using mobile and I wouldn't say that I have bad experience. Offcourse, things could be better, mobile version would be good to have, but I can't complain

An app is not necessary at all. Now we're in the modern era, a responsive site is the norm instead of having to download something in addition. Lots of themes make that mandatory.

I do not think that you will find quick solutions to this problem so you should strive with some of CSS's code to make the site more Responsive.
