No, that's not exactly for me. Money is important, but I really pity people that only work for one single purpose - earning money. Living from weekends to weekends, dreaming of a holiday. People spend the majority of their lives working, thus, to live happily and enjoy every day you need to do what you love to do.
I will never quit my job, no matter how much money I've got because I enjoy it. I can't imagine how people can live otherwise.

I understand that if you really love your job even if you earn less, you will not just leave it in exchange for money. But most of the people nowadays prefer to be their own boss and works at their most convenient time and place. If i can earn huge profits from the previous bull run, then why not? I'm not saying that i don't love my job because of quitting but i always prefer to have my own business even before and let it grow with my own skills and strategies.

"Goldman Sachs banker quits after making millions on cryptocurrency" - That's the headline on one of CNBC article

Quote
~ Aziz McMahon, Goldman’s managing director and head of emerging market sales in London, quit after making millions of pounds from a bet on the digital currency ether, three former employees at the investment bank told CNBC.

~ McMahon is believed to have cashed in at least £10 million ($14 million) worth of cryptocurrency, the sources said.

~ When approached by CNBC, Goldman Sachs confirmed McMahon’s departure but declined to comment any further.

I purposely left out the coins he bought and profited from because it's irrelevant. The guy must be earning big already given his former position but it took investment in cryptocurrency to quit his job.

How about you? Do you see yourself quitting your day job after this current bullrun? I hope you make enough to start with a business of your own.

I am 64. If the run fully dies off in 30 days or so I would certainly stick around.

But if this lull is the equivalent to the Jan-Feb 2017 lull in 9-11 months
we will be over 320000 a btc
eth will be over 18000
ltc will be over 5000
doge could hit 2 bucks.

those numbers would likely get me to retire next year.

My health is good.
I had a good year this year.
But it is not millions and millions of dollars

People have their own preferences when it comes to living their life. Some will really not quit their professional work even if they have enough money to put up their own business because it is how they feel contented in life. They are happy what they are doing. Whereas, some want to be their own boss, and strategize on their own to make and create a living. I guess, we just respect our personal preferences. As long as you are not harming anyone, you can move forward with your life the way you want it to.

I chose to stop working for someone else if I managed to make a big profit from crypto, but like you said most people want to own their own business.
So the working time can be adjusted to what we want, and it's very fun without having to follow other people's orders. Therefore, my main goal is
to invest in cryptocurrency, so that I can  get a very large profit and be able to retire early from my job. I do want to spend as much time as possible
with my family, therefore it is very important for me to be able to make a large profit from investing in cryptocurrency.

We are all targeting the same thing on where we do make ourselves rich or financially free with cryptocurrency investment and this is why majority of people here are aiming for that goal.

We do like to quit out into our job but not all would really be given out the chance for that opportunity to happen. It will always vary on how someone would smartly handle out their

crypto investment and we know that not all would really be giving or able to get the things that they do aim for.In my side, I don't see on quitting because I haven't still able to

hit my target but who knows that later years I would able to achieve that.

When you can live comfortably by quitting your job and focus on crypto, its your choice. WE all have different priorities. There are so many ways to make money out of crypto like staking or mining only.  I'd probably do my business still but this time I'm the one selling my own food shop and bring along my kid to learn as well while still do trading and participate in campaigns here.

I cannot say I will quit my job, but I fear I will need to quit crypto after this bullrun because manipulation levels are reaching sky and I cannot resist it. Quitting your day job due to crypto is possible only when enough profits have been fetched out of it during the bullrun. But I suggest that anyone, who successfully earns a fortune from this bullrun should stay away from crypto in bear times and wait for consistent dips to buy at older areas.

Obviously not! I have learned a lot in this forum in believing in bitcoin we must also recognize that we are a community with great defenders who do not give up bitcoin.
Weak hands will always be there but those who pursue an ideal there will be with bitcoin forever.

Not in my case, because I don't have enough invested by far. If after this bullrun I had $15M in profits, yes, I would quit. Another thing is that after a vacation, I would continue working but in a more investing facet.

There are so many people getting rich right now that it's almost unbelievable--just think about anyone who had 1 million doge from when it was worth a fraction of a penny.  They now have more than most people have in their retirement accounts after working all of their lives.  Crazy.

You’d have to have invested, at minimum, hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to have made enough to retire peacefully, and I doubt it’s all that many people in that boat.
Nowadays, I kind of wonder about that.  See my example of the doge-illionaires above, and think about all these professional Youtubers making big bucks for making videos.  There's so much money floating around right now that there likely are a lot of young people with enough money to retire immediately if they wanted to.

I read that doge is incredibly concentrated in a relatively small number of addresses, so I don't know how many people exactly are "getting rich" off doge, but I wouldn't put the number very high. I also doubt anyone shilling crypto on youtube makes very much money. You need to consistently get millions of views to make a good income.  Also, none of them really say anything insightful.

There seems to be a bit of misunderstanding but it's my fault for not making it clear. When I said quitting day job, I was referring to the fix 9-5 job where you work for someone else like the banker in the OP. I didn't mean to say you quit your crypto investments/trades or activities that generates income. It's more about being your own boss and/or working on your own terms (flexible time).

Wait until you hear stories from those who bought another meme token inspired by Doge in 2020 and held on in 2021. A ~$20 turned into a million. At least that was the case before Vitalik started dumping millions that were sent to him by the devs.

I don't know what to think of myself when i feel so fucking envious listening The Pharmacist quote about all the youtubers and influencers getting rich from shilling crypto. Then i feel a sense of relief when someone points out that they probably aren't so rich. LOL. I could really use some perspective here from those of you who haven't "made" it, the way apparently every Alt-coin trader and crypto influencer seems to be making it.

I mean, here we were trying to think that how things will be in the long run and how saving little amounts of Bitcoin over a long time would probably set us for life. Along come the people throwing in 1 BNB on SHIB INU and surpass your net worth when CZ lists it, LOL. I mean, good for them, but this surely isn't a good experience.

Personally, the bullrun didn't made much of a difference to me. I definitely have more than i had earlier but no moonshots. Just a lot of hard work trying to wrap my head around concepts and becoming part of some fruitful communities, hoping that they would amount to something more than just meme nonsense.

Unfortunately I don't have enough coins to make any substantial profit. I mean even if you bought 10 bitcoins back in the days for 1 USD, you would have 500,000 USD now. But is this really enough to quit your job and retire? I feel like we need more money than that in the long run, especially if we have a family and kids to take care of. If we already have a house with mortgage and some other savings it might work. But what do we do if price drop?

It would be really great if the bull run went high enough to where even starting a business of your own would be unnecessary.  I think the ultimate dream is to be able to invest in the businesses for your friends and family in order to get them out of the rat race or to have enough money to spend all your time giving it away like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.  Starting your own business is no small feat either though.  Especially if you're able to do it with something you love.

I've quitted my job since 2017 for crypto only because my monthly salary is just 100$, not enough to feed myseld and crypto gives me more than this in few weeks and months, that's the nature of a country that's poor and crypto is the perfect rescuer

I know this is not the best decision or thing I have made, but since this bullrun I have already quit on my 9-5 to focus entirely in cryptocurrencies. Then again it has immensely helped me get by these past few months and as long as the bull runs, I'll stay out of employment because it really stresses me out. Then again I know this is not going to stay forever so I am always ready to apply for a new job once the bear comes in.

Nope I don't really see myself quitting on crypto because it is my source of income maybe even if I get a real job I would still continue on it.
I see it as a way for me or us (my family) to get out of poverty or have a better life.
I would continue to invest on it and earn from it as much as I could.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I could not make enough money on cryptocurrencies to give up everything and open my own business, so I continue to work in crypto. But there are certainly those who have already made good money and why not cash out their profits? Personally, I did the same. It so happened that I am more eager to get real things, but since it is difficult to make money on these things now using traditional methods, I have to work with crypto, which of course helps a lot. However, you need to understand that there is risk everywhere and in crypto as well, so you need to correctly set your priorities and goals.

The question is.. did he quit his job or was he given the option to quit, before they fired him? You cannot work for a Bank and then profit millions from their arch enemy. Banks have tried their best to convince people and the regulators that Crypto currencies was a scam and Satan from Hell.... so why would they allow someone to work for them, when that person is profiting from the competition.

If I had the money, I would create a Bank just for the Crypto currency community. It will be the ultimate FU to the Banks if they close Crypto currency users Bank accounts and then having them joining the Crypto "friendly" Banks and giving the Banks a finger!   Wink
