I also saw this post on Facebook yesterday, and this fight is exciting. Manny Pacquiao always stay fit for him to box anytime even though he said that he is going to retire at boxing soon. Like always, of course I will bet on Manny Pacquiao to win this fight, age doesn't matter, I mean it's Manny Pacquiao, come on. For sure if his opponents gets cocky and underestimate him, he will pay the price in the ring like what happened to Keith Turman.

Heard this on the news and I don't seem to be that excited with this fight, there's a certain air in this match that I feel like it's not that good of a fight. I hope that he retires after this match because I feel like the longer he waits, the more he becomes a punching bag for new fighters as their rite of passage.

Is this really finalized? I am really confused because Manny's team has made all sort of announcements during the last two years and in none of the instances the fights got realized. I will be extremely happy if the proposed fight with Errol Spence Jr goes ahead as planned. As far as I know, there is still no official confirmation from the organizers (please correct me in case I am wrong). All we have is a Twitter post from the official account of Pacquaio. Normally they don't post a news article unless they are sure about it. So that makes me believe that this fight will go ahead as planned.

I believe that it is a big blunder for Pacquaio to jump in to the presidential elections next year. First he should serve people as a senator for 10-15 years and prove that he can do a lot of good things for the people. Targeting the most powerful position at this point is a bit overstretching it. In all probability, he is going to lose and if that happens his future chances will get affected as well (according to the opinion polls, he is nowhere in the picture). He is only 42 years old, and therefore I believe that it will do a lot of good if he has the patience to wait for another 10 years.

I reckon that Manny will win in the vote because of the Filipino community support on their fighting Senator. But it doesn't mean that it will automatically translate to a victory. I myself are going to vote for Manny and then put a bet on him to win by UD if the odds will be available in favorite crypto bookies.

True but i will not be voting Manny to win in the poll. I'm a big Manny Pacquiao fan but i will put my money opposite him this time around. Many said that Manny still has it to defeat boxers of Errol Spence caliber by i don't think the same. May be Manny can compete until the last round but i just saw Spence winning here as he has the youth factor that is a very important factor in a boxing match.

I think this decision of him fighting Spence is related to politics. This fight will be the talk of the whole Philippines thus rekindle his popularity amongst the Filipino people and at the same time earning some substantial amount of money as many boxing fans will buy PPV to see him fight for the last time.

Manny for sure will earn a lot of money and help him pursue his political ambitions for higher office.

He is still relevant in Philippine politics, don't get me wrong. If he decide to run again for senator, for sure he will win. For vice-president, he might win but for the Presidency of the Philippines, he will not win if the election will be held tomorrow or next month as he is not popular for that position.

Nothing to lose (considering no damage to his health) for him if he loses this fight and if he wins then the boxing world will be all praises for the Mighty Manny lol.

Fair point, and I guess Manny is still hungry at 42 years of age and really wanted to prove more in the boxing circles that he is still relevant in the discussion for ATG at welterweight division. So still a win-win for him, of course the money that he will pocket if ever he will run for higher office and then if ever he loss, will still be praises for taking this fight against a young and number 1 welterweight (personally rank him above Crawford).

That is a great thing. Many of the super-rich keep their wealth to themselves and they refuse to support the poor. Pacquiao is an exception and we need to admit that. But at the same time, his intention will be questioned now. He has stated that he would like to contest in the next year's presidential elections. Obviously a lot of his opponents are going to argue that these charity contributions are done so that he would get some positive coverage from the press ahead of his candidature. Politics, especially Asian politics is a sector without any sort of ethics or values and personally I would like Manny Pacquiao to stay away from it.

Maybe he didn't do a high intensity training but for sure he include exercise and other physical activities that can increase his stamina and other physical attributes so we shouldn't worried about that since the main issue here is his focus, Manny is politician now and his campaigns or other upcoming political activities can possibly bother him to focus on his upcoming fight.

Yes, and I will reckon that Manny walk around the ball park number of 140-150 lbs, good for the welterweight division, so he doesn't need to cut more weight. And then if he goes to training, we will see the body again of Manny, ageless fit and prime for another big fight in his career.

Of course he loves to play basketball so that will make him fit as well in those 2 years that he is not boxing but doing charity works and focusing on his job as a senator.

That's true. But I heard rumors that this can be Pacquaio's farewell fight. Since he is planning to contest the 2022 Philippine presidential elections, there is no more room for any fights after this year. So in case this fight goes ahead in August, in all probability it will be his last fight as a professional boxer. There is a chance for one more fight in November or December, but since there are no proposals I would say that it is going to be difficult to squeeze in another match.

Also, not all the money isn't being used to help the poor people, he has a lot of business ventures and I don't think that the help that Pacquiao gives is going to be enough because he is a Senator which means that he can make bills that will change the life of many people in the long-term compared to just giving money that will probably last around two weeks.

One of the reasons why he rejected the fight against Crawford was that it was scheduled to take place in the middle east. Pacquiao wanted his farewell match in Vegas. This year, there was enough room to arrange two fights for Pacquiao, but his team was too adamant about salary and other terms. Now I don't think that he will take part in any match other than the proposed fight against Spence. He will probably announce his retirement a month or so before the fight, and hopefully it will generate a lot of hype and revenue.

Good job for him but is that law really a big help for the people? I mean anyone can author a law but it's not so relevant to the present situation. I would vote for him if he has good academic records, but no offense to his supporter, for me he doesn't have that kind of achievement, there are a lot of brilliant politicians in the Philippines that are more deserving in the position.

Well we can't deny that Manny Pacquiao had shown a good fight against his opponent in his recent fight which happened almost 2 years ago but to be honest he is aged already, the resistance and immune system he has when he was a young boxer is not the same as what he has now. However, this game were still anticipating fight for me as i've heard it yesterday because I am a MP fan wayback then, we will see how this game goes on once pushes through.

You totally understand my point here when I was coming off to be overconfidence by some people which believe Manny age will be barrier in this fight and in reality it not always about the age but the dedication and the affection the fighter had toward boxing.
