is there way to flash the SSD while installed in the miner with out having to take out the SSD? When I plug the SSD into PCEI in my desktop it will not recognize the device

That's because it's a Linux filesystem and not a Windows one

fix for this error is to flash the MICRO SD not the SD. 1tb SSD is for node storage only. can buy SD adaptor so can flash from windows with balena etcher thanks for the help

Great deal! The stock power supplies are rated for 200watts and in turbo mode I was seeing 201watts in turbo. Isn’t this bad? I thought you’re supposed to leave a 20% buffer so that you’re not maxing out the psu? I tested these units on a 750w psu as well and if you abide by the 80% rule, you’ll need higher than an 850w unit if you’re going to run more than two units. I don’t recommend running these at max settings. I don’t live in a cold climate and these got really hot fast! 75C and the room was hot. I went from 12.5th/s in turbo @ 800watts to 14.5th/s at 1050watts for 4 units (two 750w psus). Each unit saw about 266wats at full speed.

A note for anyone looking for another PPLNS pool. The apollo is a fun piece of hardware and works great, but better to verify than just blindly trust! After testing the releases of the miner binaries ( 64 bit v. 1, 32/64 bit v.2) and showing they can submit high enough difficulty shares to find a block, Kano's Pool will now allow them on the PPLNS side and not just solo.

I have two batch 2 full node systems and I can no longer run a node on either because the ssd error light comes on and the systems don't boot up. I was able to get one system to boot months ago by removing the drive. The other system was refusing to boot even without the drive installed the error light was coming on. After I removed the ribbon cable for the ssd from the controller it boots and mines again.

Does the stock PSU offer any leeway to OC the hashboard? Mine is practically at 2 weeks uptime, seems to be very stable SW, looking forward to the bitcoin apps you're working on. Is the miner's hashrate supposed to match the slushpool's hashrate on the Apollo Dashboard? There are some discussions above regarding more powerful PSUs but keep in mind potential thermal issues. The miner and the pool rates will never exactly match. The miner hashrate changes constantly as does latency between miner and pool, the rate of the pool's UI updates (5 minutes for Slushpool), and so forth.

If you follow the 80% "rule" Yes, this is what I was asking about. Is there a 90% rule? The mining HW is all new to me. Mined BTC on my discrete GPU many years ago. Looking to understand the HW limits. My unit's temps are relatively low and consistent, is there more juice that can be squeezed with the stock PSU I already have before buying a new one? Thanks!

It's 80% for reasons of long (way before crypto was a glint in Satoshi's eye) painful experience. There are tons of examples of "not quite enough" PSUs (especially see the older Goldshell Doge Mini burnt connector issues) being bad news. LeftLane10Under replied to your earlier PSU post and provided a bit of clarity on temps and hash rate about 4 posts above. Specifically: I don’t recommend running these at max settings.
