I don't mind if that is PoW, PoS algorithm, what I am looking for a certain coin is if that really has the potential.
Many old projects that are worthy of an investment which I prepare rather than searching for new projects that mostly are just scam. Knowing that the old coins are more sustaining, could give us a big chance to make money unlike what we see for new projects. Though we can never make assurance at least our chance is high, that I put into the account in choosing them.

I see this problem is really much simpler, for me in any field there will be new products created and if not competitive enough, old products will be left behind. yes you're right, so all that was replaced from the development of that project. so if they continue to develop their platform and provide new innovations, I'm sure even if the coin is old, it's still worth investing in.

even tokens from old projects that used to be very cheap and not many pay attention to can also get their glory in the future.
I see that there are projects such as BITSONG and Adbank that have been running for a very long time for platform development. even their tokens used to have no value or just a very cheap value.

Some of old coins are still popular . as long as you choose the right one. like litecoins. monero. but if you want choose a coin like that I myself prefer coins2 that have much more potential and have smart contracts option because nobody know might be someday they had new feature that will impact their community like eth . bnb . polkadots . cardano .

You never know. We shouldn't just say like "It is an old coin. It won't make me a good amount of money.". Being the oldest or newest is not the most important criterion. The condition of the project is the most important.

Seeing the question asked in OP, it depends that whether OP indicating all the old coins or all the old popular coins.
I can easily say that if you invest in BTC, ETH, doge , LTC , then surely you will get profit.
These are the coins that never gets old and always chance is there to give you profit.
Now if you invest in a old coin whose marketcap is small, then almighty can only save you from losses.

I haven't heard Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark though. Or probably I read it somewhere but I guess it didn't stick or I didn't get intrigued about it.

Anyway, upon searching it, I do remember the logo of the coin though. Being a pioneer on it could prove that it has it's factor on becoming like BTC or something. It can but I'm not sure if a lot more people would want to buy it though.

The idea of minting the coin isn't bad though. Maybe you can earn those coins instead?

If the old coin is litecoin, dogecoin, dash, monero, I will surely buy it because those old coins still can increase and increase following with bitcoin price increase. Maybe this time, those old coins do not give much profit to us, but if we invest in those coins for the long term, it could give us the profit. But if the old coin is Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark, I will think twice to invest because I do not see the project still good to invest. That cannot be avoided old projects will be copied but not just copied but will be improved, in this way the project or cryptocurrency will continue to evolve into a better coins I think it's part of improvement we should not be surprised that new coin or project will come after the DeFi and NFTs.

If a coin did not show a good rise despite the bull season and the team is not working, it does not make much sense to invest. Without a good community, the project can no longer gain value.

I don't think it's a good idea to invest in old coins, the old coins that missed this round of great bull market may not survive till the next bull market.
Of course, there are always surprises, might be some old coins break out in the bear market or stand out in the next bull market. But the probability that you happen to hold this old coins is very low.

I mean Bitcoin and Ethereum are also "old" coins and of course it's still worth it to buy those. There are also a lot of coins in the top 100 or top 50 region that are around 3 years old or even older like IOTA, Dash, Monero and Waves and i would say that all of these coins are also still safe investments as they are all still actively developing and improving their product.
I guess you thought about old and small projects. This questions is harder to answer and you really need to research the projects before you invest if they are still active if they still have a community or if it is just a dying project that slowly but surely moves down in the market cap ranking since years.

old users. If you're truly looking for old coin try to find in among the top market caps, they are safe for long term won't get delisted out of the blue.
But some old coins also have done some successfull branding so you should look into that as well I guess.

Yes, am in support of people buying old coins provided the buyer has faith and trust in the coin. Do not buy a coin because of hype but buy it because you are convinced that the coin is a nice coin with solid foundation and team members. Buy the coin and let it stay for long term. That is the only way you will get to make profit from it once its demand increases.

This market is like a competition. Those who are strong will stay and those who are weak will go away.
In this case, those coins who aren't popular right now for some reasons will be the ones that will go away and those strong ones will stay.

Although I believe that there are some old coins who has a better technology compare to the new ones that are coming up right now, its the community of the coin that matters at least for me. Its sad but we must accept that there will be coins that will rise and there will coins that will fall. Now to answer the question, buying old coins is worth until now but as an investor I'll prefer those old coins that are still in the top 100 right now rather than those at the bottom ones.

Depending on the use case of the coin and how the teams promote the benefits of their coin. If they keep to developing new product and follow the trend of market, they will be survive from the market, because the interesting of the project increasing. Let see old coin of Cloack coin, the price still in the bottomed although the market on bull market because the don't have others products that interest to see. With high competition on the market, more altcoin can be dying.
