What is your opinion on the subject of "money & happiness"?

Interesting study in the OP, but too conventional.

IMO the people who are not happy with nothing won't be happy with everything neither. Yesterday I went for a walk with a friend of mine when suddenly an old indigent with some Gandalf beard appeared on a rusty bike, with his dog running full throttle, and Deep Purple max volume. You can imagine the scene, epic.

I don't think many people on a Ferrari and a bimbo would be much happier than him. Somebody should measure it scientifically but I would be surprised if the man in the expensive car won. Happiness is subjective and with the proper self control I think that you can modulate it, even when consumer society has teached us otherwise for decades.

Happiness is a subjective thing and money can be a source of it for many people, we just don't want to admit it because we were conditioned to believe that wanting money and saying that money for you is everything is a bad thing. For me, as long as my needs and occasional wants are fulfilled by money till my death, it's enough for me to be happy.

Because, in reality, we all have different preferences, and each person is unique, there is no such thing as a universal definition of happiness; it is highly subjective. Not everyone needs expensive things to be happy; we all have our own tastes, experiences, and lives; some of us are already content with what we have and can enjoy life with it. We can't really compare each individual's happiness, which is one of the aspects we differ from one another. I want money but money doesn't make happiness, the only reason why I like money is that it's the pathway to reach my true happiness.

I have the same view on the subject, there are people who just can't get enough, they won't be satisfied with any amount of money. I've mentioned before, as long as my needs are satisfied and I'm able to save a reasonable amount of money, I'll be fine.

Yeah, there's no need to lie to yourself to make other people feel good about the existence of money. Because actually we need money in different portions. It all depends on basic needs.
And if someone always follows additional needs such as a car, iphone12, luxury house, rare toys, etc. believe me it will lead to greed in a person.

well, I might think that's not entirely true. some people who also have abundant finances are also involved in things that are not wanted and are not happy. I think the key to all of this is being grateful for what we have. however, as long as we don't have debt, and are grateful for the finances we have, as long as it meets our needs, I think it's enough to make a person or a family happy, even when they don't have as much money as Elon Musk or other rich people.

Yes, Money helps us to buy things that we like, helps us solve many problems in life.  But not every money will make you happy, sometimes happiness does not depend on the material value that money brings, it is important to know how to cherish and appreciate the life you have.

in the 21st century, money will matter to everyone. you won't be happy being homeless today because everything you do involves money and if you can't provide for your family it really couldn't make you as a whole. you won't be happy when you got evicted from the house you live in for several years of you and your kid's life. many families today move into their parent's houses because of this pandemic crisis.  the effect of having no money is that you are not in control of your life and that's depressing for a man.

In this realistic world, money bring happiness though it is not always, sometimes emotions and relationship matter over money, but to have a basic living and fulfilling the demands its all money which is required to live and have a good life. More can say we are living in a materialist world.

Money imposes limits or open doors in your life depending on how you have disponible. So it's a fact it will influence on your mood and I believe to tell the opposite is a lie. Everyone wants to dispose of an enough amount of money to fullfil their goals and achieve their dreams and if they aren't able to do it, a feeling of failure will take control of them, influencing the mood.
Of course there are also some people who can't get enough of money. The more they have the more they want without limits, being always in a bad mood, because nothing can satisfy them. That is an extreme behavior that shouldn't be misunderstood by the common financial difficulties and their effects on mood faced by most people in the world.

I remember a few weeks ago that I stated in another thread that, for me, 1 million would be enough money to be happy (it is more or less the money I can expect to win in the rest of my life working, so why shouldn't it be enough?) and very few people understood my point of view because, apparently, it is very little money...

right money is a basic need in life, not having money means we are close to suffering. right money is a basic need in life, not having money means we are close to suffering. Reality wise, there are people who continue to live without having money,
those who are residing at the very rural places they are good eating vegetables and some of their pets,

or they are fishing or haunting wild animals, are they contended and happy with it? we can't judge them as they are  okay living this way.

No offense but your statement applies most for people who knows the value of money but not in general.

There is a popular opinion in the locale that "A man who has money doesn't easily get angry or offended, lol". This statement goes the other way as well, that "A man who doesn't have money is easily offended by everything and everyone".

Still depend on the person involved because there are rich people that the money already gets entere their heads so they are having difficulties in understanding others.

Money can buy everything but not Love so it is an artificial happiness and not the real one.

I agree that money can't buy anything there are things that doesn't have a value or more valuable than money because of the memories.
And of course the real happiness and love like what you have said,
I remember something I don't know if I read or heard it somewhere but it goes like,
"Money can Buy you a bed, But not a Sleep"
"Money can Buy you a House, But not Home"
Money can Buy you Books, But not knowledge".
So yes money can't buy anything based on those words and it really gets into me.

The same relationship and emotions you made mention, I believe you know that money controls them. An average lady would want to associate with you once they know that you hold some bitcoin.
Trust me, not just lady but everyone around you would want to associate their self with someone who can bring something to the table and that's why your last statement is so correct. Materialist world that we all now live in.

If our situation is poor, we definitely want to be like rich people, anything can be bought in the poor's mind, and it's only seen from the outside, we don't know the hearts of the rich who are depressed because of their many tasks and life demands.

All of them returned to their respective efforts to get the treasure. We know, to be rich we can't just laze at home and just play games on the PC. I also believe that the richer a person is, his brain tends to be more stressed than people who play PC games. (not for game streamers)

It would not be wrong to say that most people trade their time, thought and energy for money. But the amount of money depends on luck and creativity of each.

Personally, I believe that before enjoying life, a person must have a closed need for survival. 
If you have nothing to live on, you have no money, then it is difficult for you to enjoy life because you are in a stressful state of survival.

Money and happiness complement each other. Whether it is now or before, happiness needs the support of money, but money also needs happiness. Money can be our happiness. What is happiness? My subjective thoughts are good health, a happy family, and financial prosperity. In fact, happiness is sometimes just a state, and happiness is the satisfaction of desires. Without sufficient financial capacity, you cannot get any satisfaction, and your desires will not be satisfied. Are you still in a happy state?
