A third match would come if he wins and Inoue wants to take back the glory from him. But before thinking about that, we'll get to know if there's a 3rd one after this match.
I've heard that he has said about his retirement and that's very likely after this match but then again, we don't know if that will happen and everything is up to him, win or lose.
If he wins this fight, I doubt that Donaire will just hang up his gloves. Yes, he has nothing to proved but boxers are still to go for that one last fight in their career to see if they still has it. And with the belt and as a champion, he will simply thinks that he need to defend it as least 1 time and say that it is no fluke winning it against the Monster Inoue. So he won't retire if he wins.
Well, that's all that we assume but we'll never know what to happen until it's able to happen and he wins this upcoming match. Just a few days to go and we'll see the greatness of these two.
It's possible that he just wants to leave a legacy if ever Donaire wins so his retirement is being ended by a win and tie while taking the belt out of Inoue.
Donaire is still 39 years old of age which i dont see if he would really be retiring if ever he would beat up Inoue on this upcoming rematch and if he do still knows that he could still make money for a possible or likely a trilogy

so its out of those options for him to do such thing if he do sees on why the heck he would retire for an unfinished business? but well all those things could be possible or could be done if ever he do win this upcoming fight

but if not then it would be closed completely that Inoue is better than him.

This is why this upcoming match is an interesting one for Donaire's part. It will be like determining factor if he will retire or not. Just look at Pacquiao, he tested himself up to when he will hang up the gloves. Their mind and heart may have the desire to fight, but their body is already saying enough. Few days from now, and we will see what's in it for Donaire here. Can he outlast Inoue this time around? I am putting small bet on Donaire here just for excitement of watching this match.

I think even in the event of losing this match, Donaire will still fight at least 2-3 fights before hanging his gloves. If he was able to repeat the same damage he gives to Inoue then it means he still has that power to pulverize an opponent but it's just that Inoue was able to top him.

I can't compare it to the status of Manny Pacquiao when he retires because Pacman has lots of activity while doing boxing at the same time. When he faced Yordenis Ugas as a replacement for Errol Spence Jr., Pacquiao have lots of activities on his hands and did not focus on boxing especially when he exchange tirades with Pres. Duterte about those corrupted officials in the government were in the end, Pacquiao wasn't able to support his claims. There's an ongoing case too that Pacquiao is facing during this training.

Donaire on the other hand is focused on boxing and a bit of entertainment but not as hot and trendy as Pacquiao did. That's the reason I believed that in case Donaire losses here, he will still fight.

If donaire focus in this fight for sure he has still have to prove to us that he can be the champion again. Not the same in manny pacman pacquiao situations and yes you are right that mate pacman is not 100% focus in that fight because of his work in the Senate here in the Philippines and also swapping of his opponents in the near fight is a big challenge because pacman study every move of spence how to counter it and how to enter but sadly moment when ugas replace Spence and another take time to study the movement of ugas but pacman run out of time. But in donaire situation I assure that he can win 100 % focus and there's no swapping of opponents.

I don't think that Donaire will stop to fight or retire if he losses to Inoue. As you have said, 2-3 good fights still left in him. We just don't want him to be a damage good though before he retire. He need to preserve his health. And it gives up excitement to watch this fight because we are eager to see what steps will Donaire be doing to win against Inoue. Donaire is one of those boxers that have a good boxing IQ so for sure he has new strategy in this fight.

Seeing from the first fight, it's a shame that Inoue didn't fall there so he won in the calculations but in this case it was clear that Donaire would not want something like this to happen again and would force him to take down Inoue directly.
I am in the same boat as you in this case even though it will be difficult to happen but I still believe in Donaire now

How could it be a shame while that fight became fight of the year? Donaire's fans is not ashamed about that lose and they are so proud on what Donaire shows that's why we see a rematch between them because their last meeting is so good. Although he didn't knock off the japanese but as you can see Inoue also struggle and we see bloods flowing in his face. So for sure we can see a big revenge for Donaire because its time for him to pick some good shots to revenge on what Inoue do to him in their last match.

Donaire lost but he was the only fighter that gave Inoue a tough challenge. If we will check Inoue's fights, all of the fights are easily won by him, but during the fight against Donaire, we saw how Donaire exchange punches on him and Donaire also hurt Inoue, so we cannot underestimate Donaire despite he is not anymore on his prime.
The problem is that Inoue is currently in a very good condition, even now he is quite excited about this rematch.
Inoue sometimes does something out of the ordinary and indeed sometimes there are some punches he is very dangerous.
One thing to watch out for from this fighter is his left hand which is the main hand and of course this will be very difficult to anticipate considering that Donaire currently rarely meets left-handed boxers.

Expect surprises from him, Donaire knows how to adjust and with the time that has been provided to him for conditioning his skills,

not just the health, but also those possible strategies that he has in mind to use while fighting Inoue. I'm also excited to see how

he will counter those solid attacks from Inoue and how he will try to execute every chance that Inoue will give him during this fight.

However, we need to be realistic and see that this fight is not going to be easy for Donaire, Inoue is a real monster, so we can also expect some major adjustment from him in this fight.

I agree with that, though his mind is willing but his body would not be able to endure against a heavy hitter and a faster boxer.
I won't judge him now, but as soon as he lose the fight, I like him to announce his retirement.

Donaire will be 40 years old this year. It's already old for a boxer.

For sure Donaire considering all of this but for now lets not talk about his last fight because their upcoming fight is the one been hyped up by his fans around the world.
I think it's better for him to fight in exhibition fights as he can still make money with that, but it's less risky.

This would clear up other doubts if Donaire did win. apart from him being able to get revenge after a few years ago losing like you said this will be a trilogy that is very worth watching.

Actually in this case I'm still pretty sure with Donaire now despite Inoe's strength from this blow it can still be anticipated if he continues to be beaten but maybe this will be a little difficult

I would be so happy if Donaire will win the rematch, he is not expected to win as he is a heavy underdog, but Donaire as what we've seen in the first fight, was really giving Inoue a hard time, and that's why I like about him because he has a heart of a Warrior, he never gives up and he can intimidate Inoue with his style of boxing which has a good accuracy.

I also see his highlights and he got an impressive knock out win on every opponent he face. Only Donaire able to make his face so bloody and for their last fight performance for sure this is one thing been consider on why they have rematch so hopefully the same on their part 1 we can also see a more entertaining match because for sure Donaire is in revenge mode on what happen to him on their last match.

That was a tough fight by Inoue, he was not used to that kind of outcome because most of his fights are one sided fight which was dominated by him. I like to believe that this rematch will be more interesting as Donaire will not waste his effort, he will find a good opening for a possible one punch KO.

Although he won by unanimous decision, we can still see that Inoue was having a hard time beating Donaire. Inoue himself did not underestimate Donaire, his start was not as aggressive as his previous fight, so he understands that Donaire has the power and the quickness to hit and hurt him.

This rematch is good, Inoue is still the favorite that's why betting on Donaire gives a very attractive return.

The same goes for Inoue as he's also in an excellent condition after defeating 3 boxers after their first encounter and he is indeed excited for this rematch as well. Now, he is taking some steps to close their fight for good and think about moving to another weight class. Nevertheless, Inoue and Donaire will make this fight more interesting as both boxers have improved better.

Donaire's legacy has been cemented already, win or lose against Inoue. Of course it will add greatness to his resume if he beat Inoue. But it doesn't change a thing that in the last decade or so he is one of the best, holding championship belt from 4 different weight classes. He is even in the record for being a champion in 3 consecutive decades, 2000', 2010', 2020. So that alone put his name as one of greatest fighter we have. Filipino Flash, with one if not the best left hook in boxing even up to this day.
He's aiming for that and it's like his pride will be stepped in if he losses to him for the 2nd time around. Well, we're going to see how he's going to beat it as it's like a promise to himself and not to everyone that he'll win this time. We're all counting on him and we want him to beat Inoue and alas, they're tie and both had experienced the belt. No doubt about his records and the past but this time, it's different from there because he's beaten for the first match and this is a rematch that he shouldn't miss because if he losses, no more rematch.

Donaire has indeed a lot of accomplishments as a fighter. But perhaps this will be the biggest stage for him to win against a very tough opponent in Inoue.

He said in his interviews that he admits his mistakes on the first fight and promise that he won't the same mistakes again. Not sure what those mistakes are, but maybe he is too reluctant to engage before he is afraid that he will be caught coming inside with an overhand right from Inoue. But now Donaire is extra motivate and will take this challenge and go for a win.

Even if I'm not mistaken in judging this Donaire can be said to be one of the toughest opponents for Inoue because it's rare for him to fight like that, his face is crushed and he's even cornered in a few rounds.
talking about speed Inoue wants to maximize it more because he knows Donaire is an aggressive boxer and indeed it is very fast so he prefers to wait for that time

That really happened on that fight, that's why some people thought it's a contestant for fight of the year award.

By the way, if you are looking for the odds, it's already avaialble now, with a huge market.

Donaire to win +400
Donaire by KO +580

Wonderful odds. I'm really expecting odds like this. I don't really care how strong Naoya Inoue is and I can disregard all technical analysis pointing to him to win on the match as I will support my fellow countrymen. Upsets always happened even though the majority will say it's not likely to happen in this match.

Simple as that, if they believed Inoue will win and Donaire has no chance of upsetting the monster, then place a bet for Inoue with low odds. Donaire with the right timing will find a hole to connect his counter punch that might result in fatal damage like what he did during their first match.

Interesting take by Carl Frampton in this fight, he thinks that Nonito might have a change to pull an upset.
Quote
“Inoue has got serious power, but Donaire has got a good chin and he has the ability to take shots and fire back. I would not be surprised if there was a shock on the cards in Japan.  From the first fight, if anyone is going to have learnt and made the adjustments, then it’s Nonito.  He’s been around this game a long, long time.”
 Source

Frampton beat Donaire though, but they becomes friends. Carl retire last year after his one side lost beating from the hands of then champion Jamel Herring. So I guess him going with war with Donaire, he knows what the Filipino can bring in the table in this fight.
