Aurora may well have been handed a chance to win a major, and they mustn’t let it slip. That’s why they need to make the most of this opportunity and reach at least the final of the major tournament. In their bracket, there’s definitely a chance that a team capable of reaching the final could emerge. I believe they managed to beat BetBoom in a practice match, so I don’t think their opponent will put in a particularly strong performance – though things can change completely once we step onto the arena.

ESports seems to be so huge in other countries.  It is almost unexplainable to me.  I'm not sure why other countries have embraced this style of sport while in the US it is still considered a joke.  People would rather watch random streamers trolling people than competing in esports.  I'm sure there's a reason and it is probably a dark one, but I am still dumbfounded by the numbers I see of people watching these events.  It just doesn't make sense to me.  I guess I should be thankful I have better forms of entertainment available.
It is that there are still a lot of people in the US that don't see it as a competitive thing. This is only a matter of time when, when a lot of these streamers have already participated in competitive scene, that's when they will realize that just as the real sports and athletes earn money. They'll start to see the competition is real and the career is also genuine in esports and not only with athletes but also for the other back end opportunities that are in it.

Some bookies have them as the fifth-best team to win the whole thing, and the only team they have to worry about until the final is FURIA, so there could be a world where it can happen.

It's probably because there's a lack of talent in the region and at the same time, it's expensive to maintain good teams compared to other regions. Even some of the pros transitioned to streaming because the payoff is more or less the same, with the prize pools getting cut every year.

As it stands Aurora and BetBoom are very evenly matched on the first map of their match. But I believe they will find a way to win it in the end because they have been playing impressive CS this whole tournament so far.

Next match will be an interesting one when FURIA takes on 9z who have been the giant team killers all tournament long. But it won't be a walk in the park against this Brazilian team.

9z managed to beat Mongolz and qualified for the Major playoffs. 9z were drawn against some really strong opponents throughout the Major, yet they somehow managed to survive. Their performance in those matches cannot be underestimated, as they managed to beat Vitality whilst losing to Spirit by a narrow margin. It must be said that this is a disappointing result for Mongolz. It seems they will fail to qualify for the Major playoffs for the first time.

I think that now, Furia has a lot of material to study against 9Z. Mainly because Furia played three matches, won them all, so they only have that much information about the team. Meanwhile, 9Z played five matches, some of them very close. In theory, this should be useful to Furia in some way. They are committed to giving the major to Fallen, especially Kscerato.
As you said, it should be helpful, yes, but sometimes over-analysing can lead to losing rounds unnecessarily. Normally, FURIA should have won this match comfortably if the analysis had gone to plan, but the opponents 9z faced were strong; for example, he made life extremely difficult for his opponents in matches against teams like Vitality and Spirit.

The question of strong opponents makes sense. And considering that Furia likes to lose games that are easy for them, it's quite possible that they will suffer a lot and lose, but by a hard-fought 2-1, as usual.

Another quarter-final match is currently underway, and 9z have managed to win the first map against FURİA. The first map was Dust2, chosen by 9z, and they won 13–8. As a team, 9z played better, and apart from HUASOPEEK, the team were really good. Apart from yuurih, no one on FURİA played well on the first map. The map currently being played is Mirage, chosen by FURİA, and FURİA are currently leading.

An absolute cinema for the qualifying round the China region with Vici Gaming and Yakult's Brothers. It should have been a YB's qualification and they only have to end the game but they just can't. That's the real defense in there done by VG and  patience that's been seen on them. 93 minutes of the game and that's too long and exhausting. Mistakes after mistakes done by YB and that ended them with a gg push and this happened in the lower bracket for their other 1 slot. While the upper bracket in the China region made Team Resilience to qualify and they also beaten YB. It sucks for YB to get beaten twice on very important qualifying matches.

Currently, here are the qualified and invited teams so far;

Things looked worrying for FURIA when they couldn't string consecutive rounds in the T side of Mirage, and some of the rounds they won came down to seconds.

With the way FURIA struggled in the first half of the series, it started to feel like a 2-0 for 9z, but they eventually woke up and completed the reverse.

I only caught that last game and I agree it was an absolute treat to watch until the late game. VG's sniper keeps getting caught in crucial situations, but YB couldn't get the megas in time, and the big gold lead they had slowly lost its value. The Tiny was also shredding with the divine rapier during the high ground defense for their last barracks, and that's where it started to go downhill for YB.

No upsets yesterday in CS major but furia did get a scare after losing map 1 and being down in map 2

Spirit vs G2 starting very soon and odds look way too skewed towards spirit, i think 9z showed they can be beaten and G2 should have more experience with stage than 9z to make this a very close game

I had previously commented here that it would be a game where Furia would enter confidently but would get a scare. I predicted a hard-fought 2-1 defeat. But it ended up being a 2-1 victory. I hope they learn something and don't underestimate any team. It's important not to lose now.

Currently this match is in being played and each of these teams are settled at one map a piece. But G2 are giving Spirit a good game challenging their best player donk. Actually from what I have watched of them lately they have been playing their best CS all year so far.
Next matchup I am excited to watch are Team Vitality vs Team Falcons. They have been playing good CS ever since Karrigan joined the team and the best team have been letting their gameplay fall off abit since their back to back major wins.

The play that won the game was with XinQ's impale of 4 heroes. That was unexpected and even YB was surprised with that. I don't know what's on their mind when that impale of lion was already in cone(3 sides). I guess that if it's experience wise, VG has got more of it despite that YB has got kaka although he just came back and became rusty.

As expected the Vitality vs Falcons match was a dramatic quarter-finals to witness.
The second map was looking to go in the champions direction when it was some great skill by m0NESY to hold them at bay. It took them into the third map of dust2 to decide who was going to move on in this IEM semi-finals.

So now we have the remaining teams that will have faceoff against each other for today:
Aurora vs FURIA
Team Spirit vs Team Falcons

So now we have the remaining teams that will have faceoff against each other for today:
Aurora vs FURIA
Team Spirit vs Team Falcons
I'm leaning on FURIA and Team Spirit for these next two matches. Even though Falcons are improving, i'm scared they could get rolled by Spirit since their last meeting ended with them getting swept in the PGL grand finals.

Then, for the other match, i'm still suspicious about Aurora despite them and FURIA facing similar teams. Also, I think it'd be more of a banger to see FURIA and Spirit or Falcons in the finals.

I think that the Team Spirit for their dota 2 roster has now became stronger with their new coach, and that's no other than their former team member, miposhka. They already have the times that they've been with and even with the new other members, this is for sure going to help them with how they're communicating each other, it's an important recipe to win games.

What an amazing two days in CS major playoffs history, very hard to think of a more entertaining playoffs

Tomorrow we have the BO5 finals and falcons are slight favorites now.
Furia have had good score line but they havent really played anyone from the top 5 yet

While this falcons team have put under pressure time and time again this week

As much as players are hoping for fallen to win his last major before retiring, i really think falcons win this 3-1 or maybe even 3-0

I can't believe Fallen is back again at another major finals, this time with FURIA which tried their hardest for many years with no luck.

I haven't watched pro cs2 for some time, but I won't miss this series and I needed to say that here. Best of luck for the brazillian professor. Smiley

I had my doubts of ever seeing FURIA in a majors finals from the matches I have seen them been playing so far this year. Yet here we are with them taking down the favorites yesterday in Aurora and making it to the matchup today with Falcons.

My thoughts exactly, they hadn't had to play the likes of Vitality so they seemed to have the easier road to these finals than most of the other squads.
Fallen said he was retiring after this major? If they manage to win then I can see him postponing til the end of the season.

There are many who are saying this will be their toughest challenge against the Falcons but it will be not one to miss since we know FURIA have pulled off upsets in the majors before.
This just might be Fallen's swan song moment and it would be great to see him take the trophy one last time.

That's two coaches now for Spirit and the more brains, the better just like how Team Liquid operates with Blitz and Jabz.

As much as players are hoping for fallen to win his last major before retiring, i really think falcons win this 3-1 or maybe even 3-0
There's always a possibility for a FURIA win, but I also believe Falcons got this one with how locked in they've been at this major. 3-1 sounds reasonable, FURIA will likely at least take one map based on their map pools since Falcons are still vulnerable on Inferno and Mirage unless their shooting isn't on point for the whole final.

I had my doubts of ever seeing FURIA in a majors finals from the matches I have seen them been playing so far this year. Yet here we are with them taking down the favorites yesterday in Aurora and making it to the matchup today with Falcons.
FURIA were the slight favorites in their matchup against Aurora, but I can't blame you for doubting since they've been somewhat off before the major. I assume they're saving their strats back then, and now they're cashing in.

I wasn’t expecting the Falcons to beat Spirit. Karrigan really managed to make his mark here. With this victory, he’s added yet another Major final to his record. Although sh1ro put in a good performance for Spirit, it wasn’t enough for them to win. The Falcons are likely to be the winners of this Major tournament.
