T1 should win but i do expect competition from KC and maybe even a map win

More exciting match should be TL vc KC in the lower bracket next round,  TL should have won the second map but T1 things happened and it ended in a 3-0

KC would be favorites but honestly i think TL makes it super close and we go to a 5 mapper  Grin
I agree T1 is still the final boss of this bracket so they're surely winning the series. It just depends on how many maps they need to wrap this up, since they can always bring the circus.  Tongue

That's the matchup i'm expecting in the lower bracket as well. Despite TL's 3-0 loss against T1 they almost got that second map, but they stalled long enough for T1 to recover.

They were eliminated quickly during the group stages but that's a good participation for them. Maybe this time raven with OG could do end good. SEA doesn't much get love from gaben. Even SA is doing well, they only get one slot. It's either EU and China always being loved by Volvo. Anyway, the teams for TI2026 are now complete with the current prize pool of $1.6M which I think that Valve will later increase it through the commission from the dark carnival or maybe with another followed up event. Even topson is calling out valve about it.

I agree with everything you said except that i don't think SEA or SA deserve more love instead of China or EU. EU has been hard carrying the Dota Pro scene for the past 4 years. SEA has been consistently been placing bottom places at pretty much every TI, with the exception of that 23savage Talon team. South america once had 3 teams at TI. South America grew alot during DPC last years and even managed to put 3 teams being Hokori, Beastcoast and Thunder Awaken. After that, the Thunder Awaken team moved to EG, Beastcoast kind of disbanded with Parker, and the entire scene had to reshuffle, and it took a while to recover. This was TI2022, and since then it was Heroic trying to solo carry the entire region with very poor results with the exception of last TI. Now they finally have more than 1 competitive team after 4 years. So, i think 1 slot is deserved based on last years performances.

On top of that, if you knew the ammount of matchfixing going on, in the South American closed qualifiers for both TI and EWC, you would be disgusted. And i'm not talking out of my ass, i know from a trusted source. All i'm gonna say is that out of 10 teams, 6 were matchfixing.

Give 100%. 110% is impossible. Only idiots recommend that.

The first round of the MSI is going as expected, with both clear favorites quickly sweeping the series. Tomorrow should be more interesting, but it's hard not to see T1 advance in the qualification match.

No, there was TNC before which was an all filipino roster who beat OG with prime miracle and teammates on TI 2016 and there was Team Nemesis last TI 2025 but they got an early exit for being the first team IIRC to get eliminated. I think it's an exciting team to watch and it's just sad that the SEA region only got one roster because just like SA, these two regions should have that 2 slots because a lot of amazing teams have been rising there.
I recall Raven also used to play on Team Nemesis, but their roster didn't last long as they couldn't replicate the success they've produced at the qualifiers. As much as it sucks that our region only gets one slot, that's just how it goes since the current SEA teams are barely showing results that deserve an extra slot, and it's only getting worse as some of the best SEA players are getting picked up by EU teams.

I remember all of those teams that you've mentioned and yeah, they were once have got a lot of slots. I have no complain about China having three slots and for the EU to have that 4 slots. It's true that they've been carrying the pro scene for so long. But I think this time, we're seeing those aspiring teams that are proving themselves, it is that they have come short due to the limited slots.

It ended up being TL in the finals, but the 3-0 trend kept on rolling, crazy how not a single series went over 4 games. Today's final series was almost the same as what happened in round 1. Map two should've been TL's game to win, but they couldn't close it out in time while they had the tempo.

The bracket stage starts on Friday, and i'm looking forward to G2's performance since they're the only other team that could keep things competitive against the major region teams.

I do remember there being a problem with match fixing mentioned from several Chinese teams in the past but not from the South American side. Maybe only because they did get caught after those qualifiers were finished. So it wasn't such a headlined story.
If your source is so trusted then could you specify which of those teams were caught after their matches?

I don't think we even need to watch any more T1 games to conclude that they're in the finals. I'd bet they win, especially today to take advantage of the odds. I think it's impossible for there to be any surprises at this MSI. They'll probably stick to tradition.

Those teams and players who have been part of the 322 in the chinese region and proven to be part of throwing games. They've been caught and banned. And they have no longer any participation in Valve sponsored events. While for SA, I can't also source the news in the past that some of the teams there have been involved in 322. Maybe he's got the source to share here and we'll see.

These teams were not caught. They will keep doing this. Every match envolving these teams, had a script. Where it be finish a match under x-Minutes, map winners or even under x-kills.

The teams in TI qualifiers were:
Hokori
Red Hot Chilli Pibbles
Lindorfitos
RisingRage
Estar Backs
x5 Gaming
All of the teams above were matchfixing.

On the EWC closed qualifiers there was also
Team Dk
Zetta games
Chandogs (also cheating)

Chandogs on top of matchfix, were also cheating. There was also a rumor that Hokori pos4 "Asao" was also cheating, but i don't have actual knowledge of that one, unlike what i said above.

And yes, Chinese region was devastated by matchfix before. After DPC finished, Chinese and SEA region became infested with matchfixing. Some of those teams are still competing to this day because they were not caught yet. Some notourious examples are the guys from Direborn and Yangon Galaticos, that competed in this SEA qualifier. There's also an infamous stack of players that lost in open quals "cincai team". Those tier 3 tournaments SEA/China, that happen from time to time are 100% scripted. And right now, there's Nemiga matchfixing at EPL. This is why i stay away from betting in anything other than tier1 Dota.

Give 100%. 110% is impossible. Only idiots recommend that.

From what I've seen, I haven't seen any news about manipulation in qualifiers or championships recently, much less in South America. But I hope the source is truly reliable. Because saying that 60% of the qualifiers were rigged, I think something would have already been said about it.

And to have 60% rigged you would need one person or group to be organizing this crime, because how can two teams have a rigged match if both want to lose? Grin

You need to coordinate to have the decision that you need. And if this is what was happening someone would leak the information because you can not keep many people mouth shut

Those Chinese teams who got caught were heavily publicized and probably why we did not hear of these South American squads you have mentioned. Most of those names I had never heard of before so those of the Chinese orgs were more well known so it is more of headliner for the news sites that break them.

I do remember there being a problem with match fixing mentioned from several Chinese teams in the past but not from the South American side. Maybe only because they did get caught after those qualifiers were finished. So it wasn't such a headlined story.
If your source is so trusted then could you specify which of those teams were caught after their matches?
Those teams and players who have been part of the 322 in the chinese region and proven to be part of throwing games. They've been caught and banned. And they have no longer any participation in Valve sponsored events. While for SA, I can't also source the news in the past that some of the teams there have been involved in 322. Maybe he's got the source to share here and we'll see.

From what I've seen, I haven't seen any news about manipulation in qualifiers or championships recently, much less in South America. But I hope the source is truly reliable. Because saying that 60% of the qualifiers were rigged, I think something would have already been said about it.
If it's with China and some teams in Russia and SEA, we'd believe. But let's leave it at that because these teams that gets more engaged into these selling off their games are just reducing their opportunities to participate into the good tournaments. Like now, there's so much to it and the community are all in to support not only the TI but also the tournaments conducted by the Esports World Cup.

I don't think we even need to watch any more T1 games to conclude that they're in the finals. I'd bet they win, especially today to take advantage of the odds. I think it's impossible for there to be any surprises at this MSI. They'll probably stick to tradition.
For me, it's the other way around after watching First Stand, but I wouldn't count out everybody that easily since there are still a few teams that can pull off surprises against the better teams.

Also, here's my ticket for day one of the knockout stage. Keeping it simple with a double play on HLE sweeping TSW and the G2/TES series going at least four games.

Good call. I was hoping that maybe TSW could pull of the impossible and win at least one game, but they just didn't stand a chance. On the other hand, I didn't expect that G2 would pull off a reverse sweep. Caps even got a pentakill with Syndra in Game 3! Unfortunately, they will be facing HLE in the next round, so they would probably drop in the lower bracket and get a rematch with TES.

Right now I'm really excited for the match between T1 and BLG, especially with all the trash talk coming from Bin and Doran. Grin

As I said, I think T1 will be more consistent than BLG. But obviously it won't be a complete domination by T1, but I don't think BLG will be able to surprise as much, despite having enough material to develop some strategy. I don't think their game will beat T1.

I was wrong, they will most likely face the loser between T1 and BLG. Yikes! I think it would've been better for them if they had dropped earlier in the lower bracket.

The match just started and it was a banger 40 minute game already, haha. They went back and forth for a while and T1 came out on top, but I'm sure BLG won't go down in this series without a fight.

I also didn't see that reverse coming from G2, and I thought my ticket was done after that map two, but good thing they woke up in the next game.

I had T1 in that banger series, but unfortunately, BLG was ready to bring out their pocket picks in the final game.

Tactically, it's the better option so they'd avoid the best teams, but it's unlikely that most teams would think that way, and some would even prefer to face better teams so they could improve and catch up to them.

That game 5 was difficult to watch as a T1 fan, Xun was just stacking up the Kindred marks and Oner was so far behind in exp and gold. I think they messed up badly with the Trundle pick. If this was Worlds, they will pull off a legendary lower bracket run, haha. But right now I think either HLE or BLG are most likely going to win the whole tournament.

Who knows, right? Maybe G2 can surprise us and get an upset victory over HLE or T1. This would bring hope to EU fans once again, only for them to get knocked out eventually Grin

I agree, T1's plot armor isn't the same as Worlds, so I also think they'd finish at least third place and get eliminated by whoever loses in the upper final.

Who knows, right? Maybe G2 can surprise us and get an upset victory over HLE or T1. This would bring hope to EU fans once again, only for them to get knocked out eventually Grin
Even though it's unlikely, there's always a world where it could happen since they've done it before in First Stand, and the LCK teams suddenly failed to show up against them.

For day three of the bracket stage, I expect the LPL's second seed to end this series with a sweep at a minimum if they want to have a shot at having a good run in the lower bracket. I know TES always struggle with their international performance, but surely they don't slip up here.

Edit: Welp, TES just can't beat the curse and somehow lost 1-3.
