Congrats to HLE, the MSI finals wrapped up with HLE edging BLG out in a full five-map series. When BLG won the second and third maps, it looked like it could've ended 3-1 again, but their drafts were just harder to execute in those last two maps. People were hyping up BLG's golden road, but the expectations were too high when it only takes one LCK team to lock in and ruin the streak. So the teams that are in danger are VP and OG which are playing right now and I think OG only needs to win the 2nd map despite VP won the map 1.
VP somehow got away with a 2-0 win to eliminate OG, unreal how they can draw against the better teams (Yandex/1win) and crumble this easily against teams they shouldn't be losing to. BLG was simply incredible. It was a great game, but I honestly never expected anything from HLE. After BLG beat T1, I already thought it would be theirs. But they didn't give up that defeat easily, it was truly epic. That said, T1 wins the world championship, once again.

Seems that the odds are showing who the sport books are backing to move on in the matches being played tomorrow. Here are the matchups during these single elimination rounds to advance to the playoffs: Liquid vs Xtreme Gaming Rune Eaters vs Virtus Pro LGD vs MOUZ Vici Gaming vs PTime Have one betslip who I think will make it through this round and yeah I went with the favorites:

Yeah, I was surprised that OG lost to VP twice because this team looks like they're not good at all when I've watched some of their games. They was able to eliminate them and that ends OGs run on the EWC. Too early. And VP has got that 1v1 tiebreaker against LGD, and LGD won that. I was wrong in other teams going in the playoffs. Team Spirit is not there yet and it was the top 1 of each bracket who gets in to the playoffs.
Their drafting was just weird, it's like they brought it on themselves. Team Spirit is at least doing better, but they need to be more consistent against weaker teams. At least they're facing Liquid/Vici, which I think they should beat since neither of them is any better. BLG was simply incredible. It was a great game, but I honestly never expected anything from HLE. After BLG beat T1, I already thought it would be theirs. But they didn't give up that defeat easily, it was truly epic. That said, T1 wins the world championship, once again.
Same, I didn't have any confidence in HLE after they barely beat LYON, but they stepped up at the right time and capitalized on BLG's mistakes. I can't wait for the EWC in the next few days, since we mostly have the teams from last year's Worlds.

I think this should be a 1.7 odds at least for Liquid. This will be a battle of mediocre Dota. Whoever is less worse will win. 50-50 in my eyes. I think LGD is the only "safe" bet out of these 4 matches. But even LGD was pretty disappointing in group stage. But mouz is way too trash to even be competitive.

I don't recall seeing any comments about it here, but 9z won their first major LAN tournament, the XSE Pro League 2026, against PARIVISION in China. But apparently there are already rumors that Try might leave the team and go to Legacy.

Think many of the big name teams in CS2 have members on their rosters still on summer break. Haven't heard of this tournament so it must be new and it being in China it would of flew under the radar for most who operate at a different timezone. But it is a good win for 9z because they were rising in the performance from what I remember in their last one I watched and gaining this major title will only increase their confidence to win the next one. Thought the next major tournament would be held during the Esports world cup for CounterStrike which is in a couple of weeks.

Unbelievable and embarassing how VP lost map 2, with such a clear draft advantage. This team truly deserves to lose at this point. The ammount of individual mistakes and clear misscommunications was through the roof. This team is disbanding the moment their run ends, hopefully today. Aurora waiting for the winner of this matchup, watching these noobs play:

I've bet on Liquid for one map and I think they can do it but if it's with hunger to win games, I can see that Team Spirit is on that form. I thought that they're going to win it because from the early game, they do well on team fights. As for disbanding, I do think that it's just a matter of time, these individual players are good but I guess they have to let go of lulba. Playtime vs Vici gaming rescheduled due to an "integrity issue"... Interesting.
With what I've read, the players of Playtime said that their org wants to do some sabotaging of the games. Well, that's not surprising since they're sponsored by a casino. Some says that it's about the doom bug, I wonder what's the real score of EWC management for the integrity.

There was an update came out an hour ago with DarkMago and their coach Vintage being suspended in EWC. No wonder the betting lines are still down on their match with VG and it would suck if the case is actually match fixing. ESIC has provisionally suspended Juan “Vintage” Angulo and Oswaldo “DarkMago” Herrera from EWC26 and all ESIC Member events pending an ongoing integrity investigation.
These are interim measures only; no final finding has been made.

LYON gave them a run for their money in the lower bracket finals, and that game 5 against BLG was so intense. It was good to see that they've made some adjustments with their drafting. This is such a huge achievement for both Zeus and Zeka, being the first ones to win all major League of Legends tournaments (First Stand, MSI, Worlds). A bit sad for BLG though, they were so close but it still wasn't enough. Next in line would be the Esports World Cup 2026. The group stage will start in a few hours, time to place your bets! I'll be taking the favorites, although these are only Best-of-1 matches, so anything can still happen.

Like i said before, south american Dota is cooked. People didn't believe when i said 6 out of 10 teams in TI qualifiers were matchfixing, and 7 out of 8 in the EWC qualifiers. There it is.
When news broke out, i was told by my source it was the coach Vintage, but i didn't know about Darkmago. What a stupid piece of shit. Matchfixing at the biggest ESL tournament. His career is done. To me, this is the nail in the coffin to south american scene. When 95% of peruvian players are controled by chinese mafia, there's no hope.
Edit: Aurora just got dumpstered 2-0 by RuneEaters. I did not see this one coming. What an upset.

And since the teams apparently weren't very prominent, like 9z itself, or the Chinese teams that usually only have appeal in Asia, this championship ended up being pretty underwhelming. But it shows that 9z is preparing well for the second half of the year!

I've seen the news, good bye to darkmago's career. He's no longer viable as a teammate and the orgs will definitely get far away from him. I think this is the right time for parker to come back, he's one of the best in the SA and he can play mid and replace darkmago despite that he's got an attitude. Edit: Aurora just got dumpstered 2-0 by RuneEaters. I did not see this one coming. What an upset.
RuneEaters qualifying to the playoffs makes them the darkhorse of this tournament. I have not expected this as well. Although they've won my bet for them by having at least one map against VP.

He matchfixed in both qualifiers for EWC and TI. He was one of the players in those teams i mentioned.

The first betslip I put up for this EWC did win only because those favorites did not mess around and just did the business. Really surprised with the coach and player getting suspended though. As we were just talking about matchfixing happening in dota and then it occurs on the biggest stage of the year for all to see. Talk about major exposure and the will result will only be that more crackdowns will happen.

Maybe I think K1 can do a come back and play in the mid. I can only think of wisper as the most versatile player in the region. Probably also Valve sponsored events will ban darkmago and vintage. If proven that the others are also part of the ploy, that's going to be an ending of their careers. They're just rising and yet this issue came.

He plays for Amaru. He just couldn't qualify to any tier 1 tournament. And he will never play mid. That's completely out of question. I agree with the take on Wisper and go as far as saying Wisper is by far the best player in South America. If you remember, in the past, midlane was always a problem for South American teams. South America was blessed by very talented carries, decent offlaners, but very poor midlaners. Pakazs, Parker, K1, Wits, Yuma on carry. Wisper, ILICH, Sacred, Frank for offlaners. And then for mid there was SMASH, Chris Luck, Darkmago, TaiLung, 4nalog, Slatems. 2 of those midlaners were matchfixers. And ChrisLuck/4nalog are just mediocre. Midlane has been a problem for SA for years.

Yesterday, MibrLos defeated Lyon by a resounding 2-0. After losing to HLE and JDG respectively, the teams faced each other and Lyon had no chance. The final score was 29-51 for the Brazilian team. But I think the Brazilian campaign ends definitively today at EWC 2026; yesterday, Fúria was eliminated right at the beginning.

Astralis announced that NEO is their new coach. NEO is one of the key figures in the Polish CS scene and most recently served with FaZe Clan. Astralis signed him, and I think we can say this is a significant move. With these two roster changes, Astralis will start to regain its former form. I don’t think they can achieve success with their current roster, but starting the changes with the coach is important for them.
