Yeah right, with friendly games the odds is really hard to predict especially with ML, but for OP's strategy just my two cents since it's friendly match both opposing teams are not putting that much pressures.

Just my personal opinion though still unpredictable in anyhow. Maybe if that works for OP as he mentioned most of the time, if I were him I'll stick on that strategy and enjoy.

From OP, i believe that the context of this discussion has been limited to soccer alone, so i speak in that accord.It is a real gamble to bet on friendly matches because unlike playing in a competitive space, players sometimes lack motivation to give their 100%, coaches take it as a time to try out new strategies and also test the players they have on reserve.
The situation is even worse when there are very little or no spectators in the pitch to cheer. It is also easier for there to be the case of match fixing.

If you must bet on friendly matches, a tip from me to you which is not a must for you to take is that you do not bet on the whole game at a go, break your bets into two and bet on the first half first, then follow to place your bet in the second half after watching and analysing the first.

The friendly match is relatively focused on interesting points, the expertise and professionalism of both sides will not be high even if one side is far superior, sometimes the score will be sorted and even the match will last longer than desired to serve the purpose of charity donation or attracting funding. The goal has not mattered in terms of winning, our betting has also become a donation activity, most of the odds on friendly matches are just to provide more environment for gambling addicts to satisfy their mind

Betting on friendly matches without any pressure is a bit risky in my opinion. With odds of above 2.5 I would consider betting on the underdog. The stronger team will likely never bring their A team and usually let's the substitute players play. The purpose of these friendly matches is to be entertaining and not about winning. I would expect the underdog to win more of these games, or it will be a draw at least.

It depends on the nature of these friendly matches, if those matches are part of the preparation for an international tournament then you know that both teams are going to take this seriously so you can still bet on it as if it was a serious match, because it is, but if this is not the case then I am like you and I will be very afraid of betting in any of those matches as teams are more relaxed and even if their starters play they are not going to bring their best game and the result will become unpredictable.

There's no harm and too much pressure in betting with friendly matches, though it should only be a minimal amount involved since it's hard to predict who will gonna win. It is just like merely supporting who we think will win unlike if it's not friendly matches we can see the pressure and each team will strive harder who will win we can base it on their past performances.

No, I say ... no betting should be allowed on friendly matches. I have seen some Rugby matches in the past where the opposing teams left tackles for fun and laughter in friendly matches or they will ask a non kicker to kick for poles.

We might still end up loosing even after choosing the right team with best players. I have lost around $1000 on IPL cricket match. But really gained some in the beginning which really pushed me to go further with huge amount.  Its really at times hard to predict. We might have predicted something but what happened might have been at times surprising. At times its based on the luck I would say.

It's not balanced when we have to bet between the two forces who have a level of quality in terms of play. Simply put, between countries against clubs, it is clear that it does not benefit both parties. Friendly matches are not too serious to bet on. because winning and losing are the main points of it all testing how strong they are in dealing with high-class players from various countries who gather in one football club. While the accumulation of country players only rests on players within the country itself.

Not really that much interested on betting with friendly matches yet i cant really feel up the thrill at least and also you can really say that showing off their true potential or skills

Not sure how friendly matches in soccer do for gamblers but for boxing and such events, these friendly or non-official games are terrible. Recently a fight happened between Mayweather and Logan Paul where I felt Logan won but because there were no judges to score the fight, there was technically no winner and I wonder what happened to the bets that were placed on the fight.

Yeah, and they might sub some players to give them some game time and nearly all the game is random because there is no eagerness to win from both teams. I remember watching some friendly matches and they don't even take overtime seriously like the ref will blow the whistle as soon as the time is nearly over.

Most of these friendly games aren't predictable, and most of the time players are just enjoying the game. They're not serious so the risk is very high compared to serious games.

Some people still like to accumulate, the accumulation can also be positive and won but the more the accumulation the more the high chances of losing. But I do not still see any wrong in accumulating 3 matches, though the chances to lose will increase because as one match lost result to the nullification of the bet, I prefer just a single game in a week.

In theory friendly matches should be as competitive as any other game, you might even find newer players trialing for the team to see whether they can stand up to the pressure - in which case they are likely to fight harder to impress. However it is a bit of a catch-22 because friendlies might actually seem more acceptable to "rig" if such activity was going on. I remember watching blatant cheating by two basketball teams in the Philippines who were both trying to lose, so at the lower levels of football this certainly seems like a possibility and friendly matches is exactly where cheaters might try to target if they want to ease their conscious a little. To be honest, any decent bookmaker is well aware of all the odds and make even limit the over/under possibilities automatically if they see such trends.

Good observation and I think the reason for this is most teams don't usually field their top guys to play some of these friendlies because they know players can pick up injuries which could cost them a title chase and no one wants to take that kind of a risk with friendlies. So intelligent coaches simply put in reserve teams and tell them to just have fun and end result is plenty of goals and pundits are cashing in with the results

The risk is always in gambling no matter what kind of matches you’re betting with. I don’t place any bet on friendly matches because I find it boring and usually the players are not that serious which I think is just a waste of money.

Betting on friendly matches is not that bad although it depends on the teams playing for one to decide whether betting will be necessary or not. Football matches are unpredictable are times things always go the contrary to what we might think would be the outcome of a match. Risk taking precautions should be the Paramount when betting on football matches. Although I don't like betting on friendly matches whether country or club cause the match might not be taken seriously.
