Ethereum is the only altcoin that has a specific relationship with bitcoin, Ethereum will last forever as long as many platforms are still cooperating this is a positive thing in Ethereum movement in the future, now many also use the Ethereum network so that the popularity of Ethereum is always maintained in the top altcoin position
Indeed, ethereum is a coin that has the biggest community which made the erc20 network remained in its strong momentum and I think that's what makes it more effective on several projects that tie up with them. Being second to bitcoin, also gather praises from investors and holders, because in times of btc's progressions there's an immediate movements that attracts eth price to increase so fast due to bitcoin and ethereum exchange alliance like their specific demands on several trading sites.

Ever since Ethereum was created in 2015, the whole crypto/Blockchain space improved in many ways that were never imagined. The ICO trend of 2017, and the current "De-Fi"/NFTs hype are all attributed to Ethereum's ever-rising popularity in the mainstream world. If it wasn't because of Ethereum, we wouldn't had a plethora of smart contract platforms to choose from. The crypto/Blockchain space would've been focused solely on finance, instead of serving as a hub for decentralized applications. It's been 6 years since ETH came into inception, and now the smart contract platform is the second-largest blockchain network in the world. Some people compare ETH to BTC because of its focus on decentralization unlike any other cryptocurrency on the market today. As of this date, Ethereum has a large number of miners and nodes keeping the blockchain alive and healthy. If ETH continues to grow, it could live alongside Bitcoin for many years. But we all know that nothing lasts forever. What's your opinion on this? Will Ethereum last forever? Or will it eventually die? Do you think it'll retain its place as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap for long? If not, why? Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. There is nothing that last forever, every thing nor every one will disappear one day. Etherium is one of what a man develops and eventually gonna die in the future, for now we all have use it in different ways, earning it, making profits from it, develops another contract through to it but it does not mean it will lasts forever.

It's hard to say if it's gonna be there forever. But i believe it has a chance to surpass BTC and become the crypto #1. It's improving and makes a lot for crypto market and not only when BTC is just a store of value.
don't agree because btc can't be beat because if you remember cryptocurrency then you will remember btc

As long as crypto market is here, ETH will not die and yes there's a chance for its competitor to replace ETH but for sure, ETH knows what to do to address this and I'm confident that they are already working hard with the update so they can give a good service again with a lot more faster and a cheaper transactions. Many projects already came in the market and they are claiming as an ETH kill and yet, ETH is still standing strong in the market. ETH is the top altcoins, competitor must work hard to beat ETH because this is not an easy battle for them.

Nothing last forever in crypto currency, this crypto space is still new, under 20 years. Payment system is still new when it's under 20 years. There are also many new crypto projects incoming, does not rule out the possibility that new projects will replace ETH functionality in the future and people will start leaving ETH. The conclusion is, in this technology era, the better one will survive because the competition is trully tight

Bitcoin and Ethereum will not last forever. Time will come both of them will become obsolete and a better technology will prevail and replace them. But that might take a lot of time. For now, Ethereum is doubtless the next most trusted cryptocurrency. It will remain to be there alongside Bitcoin. Also, Ethereum is also fast developing. It doesn't run out of new updates and development. Other altcoin projects will probably remain inferior compared to Ethereum.

ethereum so far is very strong and able to survive for a long time is amazing when the market has returned to its peak there is a role for ethereum which has a big hype at the time of bull market ethereum will continue to survive until vitalik is no longer he continues to try to develop ethereum according to the process that could make ethereum much better to solve the shortcomings of the ethereum platform.

Ether is the cornerstone of the entire ecosystem. If the developers adopt the proposal to become the number one crypto currency and make a real real stable coin that is not tied to Fiat, then this will be a breakthrough for the entire ecosystem. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5267705.0

Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Nothing last forever so Ethereum can't last forever same as bitcoin. A day will come when they'll all become absolute but that's not happening anytime soon so we're to enjoy the now and worry less about what the future holds. Can Bitcoin die, if you can answer that question then you'll get the same answer for ethereum. Ethereum has been steadily building form the very beginning of its introduction to the industry. Ethereum ever since it was developed has been the backbone of the industry introducing new trends simultaneously and brining in developers and investors into the industry. Without Ethereum majority of success of the industry won't have been achieved, there would had not been smart contract etc although majority of the technology been developed on the blockchain aren't really necessary and just a distraction still it's quite astonishing all the industry has been able to achieve all thanks to the Ethereum blockchain. In regards the ranking, well it's just a matter of time before Ethereum and probably Bitcoin gets dethroned but that doesn't mean the coins leading would be the best out there. It could just be hyped or government influence. I strongly think stablecoin has a place among the top two. We just need a perfect one without all the flaws seen in the current ones.

None of the cryptocurrencies are going to last forever. Each and every technological innovation has a limited shelf life and this is applicable with Bitcoin and Ethereum as well. But one thing is sure. Bitcoin will survive longer than Ethereum. Bitcoin developers have tried to address various issues such as security and scalability, while with Ethereum the developers have been indulging in delaying tactics and patchwork, just to avoid criticism. Ethereum is still the no.2 cryptocurrency, because a lot of well known projects are using the ERC-20 chain. And there is no guarantee that this will last for infinite period of time.

Some people compare ETH to BTC because of its focus on decentralization its funny how eth foccus on decentralization but this coin was been called a centralized coin and if its true then it shouldnt be compared to bitcoin because bitcoin was pure decentralized but i think eth has a simillar lifespan with btc even if eth remains like this ( not really growing big ) and it can potentially be unranked because i think there are better alternatives to eth nowadays like polygon and binance chain .

Ethereum has been around for a very long time in the crypto space and has a very good reputation compared to other altcoin. So far, Ethereum biggest rival is the BSC platform, but the existence of BSC has not been able to shift Ethereum position as one of the most popular altcoin. As long as crypto continue, Ethereum will grow even more in the future.

Ethereum will continue to exist for a long time. As an open source smart contract public blockchain platform, it has strong technical support. It has made a great contribution to the encryption system, and the various smart contracts created can be used by many people for transactions or other investments. Ethereum is a decentralized cryptocurrency, and decentralization will be a huge development in the future of finance and many other fields. As long as the crypto market exists, Ethereum will exist.

The hope of Ethereum is naturally not small, because the development strength of Ethereum is second only to Bitcoin. However, in addition to the slow technological update and iteration of Ethereum, the future is not very optimistic, but Ethereum has caught up with the good era, and the contribution of Ethereum is also very large, so that the market value of Ethereum has always been ranked second. If there are competitors, competition Can the value of the person be greater than that of Ethereum?Personally feel that there is no need to be a substitute, be yourself, present a new concept, and make people more impressive.

For me yes Ethereum will remain forever as long as Vitalik reputation and passion is there. Ethereum has a lot of competitors nowadays that also very good project and a user friendly. Not like Ethereum the gas sometimes is so high. Nevertheless it is still on rank #2.

I believe that the status of Ethereum will not be shaken easily. Although there are many bad remarks about Ethereum, the status of Ethereum has not been shaken because the replicas on the market have not replaced the fundamental value of Ethereum. There is no fresh idea that makes people shine. Ethereum is better than some mainstream currencies. Ethereum will not die. Even if it falls, we can go short, so there is no need to worry about Ethereum.

Whether Bitcoin and Ethereum will last long or not I don't know, but indeed as the era of technology is also getting more sophisticated, and for now both Bitcoin and Ethereum I think are still irreplaceable and both are still growing of course

But if ethereum can have another update and people still trust ethereum, it seems BSC will not have an opportunity to beat ethereum. Ethereum will last for a long time but we do not know how long it will be. We can only use the benefit from ethereum while we do not just choose ethereum to make money because many other coins can give us a chance to make more money.
