What a turn of event.

We've been expecting that this match is going to be one of the best but it seems it's not for Manny but for Ugas, yeah probably one of the best.

Well then, that's it, congratulations Ugas. I doubt that Manny will announce his retirement before his candidacy.

Manny is doing good in the early rounds until Ugas show up to fight and put up a good defense and offense in the late rounds, I wonder if Manny will hang out his glove he should if he cannot beat Ugas who is not considered a top boxer in the division, people will have doubt if he dares Crawford or Spence, this fight is the determining factor if Pacquiao can still continue to fight.

He can still fight, he can reason out and just start again. Ugas may not even be a top boxer in his division but his professional record is good.

I think the rising boxers will make a shot to arrange a fight against him.
I've imagined Garcia contacting him again and arranging a fight if he still wants to fight again.

After being dominated by an opponent like Ugas it is time for Pacquiao to retire from the sport. He has had a remarkable legacy and has nothing to prove anymore. He is not going to beat any of the champions and even somebody coming up like Vergil Ortiz beats him.

For Ugas this is a massive victory. He has been overlooked most of his career and now he is the active champion with the best name on his resume. I don't know if he wins against Crawford or Spence but he deserves the opportunity to prove himself and also deserves the payday.

I've imagined Garcia contacting him again and arranging a fight if he still wants to fight again.

It's not going to happen next year because he will prepare for his presidential bid and he will need a lot of time and if he wins in the election it's unlikely that he will fight again because of his position, maybe if he losses but that will be in the last quarter of next year when things are settling down in Philippines politics, but will people still interested to see him fight after this fight.

Woahhh Shocked

Even though Manny loss this match, but I'm not dissapointed watching they fight. Manny has already show how powerful he's on the round 1-7 but we can't deny he's aged, his stamina went dropped and he play more defensive.

Ugas using this advantages to be more offensive by throwing hook and jab very on point to Manny, his footwork also good. Ugas doesn't look injured by taking many punch from Manny, his body is very tough.

Good job for Manny and Ugas, however I think Manny need to retire from boxing, no?

Manny is doing good in the early rounds until Ugas show up to fight and put up a good defense and offense in the late rounds
Those body shots of Ugas on the early rounds has came an effect on the late rounds and affects Pacquiao a lot, he barely move in the late rounds compare on the early rounds.

While Ugas' job is too effective with his long advantage range shots together his right big shots and those painful counter.

if he wins in the election it's unlikely that he will fight again because of his position
I doubt that, he should stop on politics as well on boxing as he has nothing to prove anymore, he's a legend at 42, and no one beat that yet.
He should focus/continue his good deeds with his charity activities.

The fight isn't going well for me. It's a little boring, and I think it's because I don't see the power of Pacman like he did in the previous fights. Ugas was well-prepared and knows how to deal with Pacman. I never considered their height and reach advantage at first because some of Pacman's opponents have a slight advantage in height and reach and are still no match for him. I agree that we underestimated the power and potential of the ugas. I believe Pacman should fight for another two or three before retiring.

Not that really need to rush on Manny's end. Everyone is aware of what he's about to do next after this match and that's where he's going to be fully focused and all-in.

Well, if he wins, there will be no more matches and I guess that's for sure the total time for his announcement of retirement. But if he don't win, he can still go for 1-2 fight until he fully retires or he don't want it anymore and just goes fully retired.

It's not like how he fought Margarito, even though he has some reach disadvantage, he's still managed to outbox him. looks like Manny needs to retire now because he has already reached the peak of his skills and right now, all those skills are dramatically subsided. Great things need to end sometimes for other things will also rise after that. It was a great night and congrats to Ugas, he really beat the old man this time.

I agree,  this end the boxing chapter of Manny Pacquiao he is the only and will be the eight-division world champion almost an impossible feat, he will announce his intention to run as president and this is another chapter on Manny Pacquiao's career now as a full-time politician, I hope he will also do better and his countryman sees his potential as a great leader, we'll see if he can make it in his bid as a President.

Even Pacquiao didnt win, still, its a good fight and im satisfied with his performance. Though he is not the same during his younger years as a boxer but we know he did his best and thats what matter. This might be the last fight of him if he really run for president and win, otherwise I dont see him retiring soon with a record as defeated on his last fight.

I don't know but isn't it that Manny Pacquiao's real opponent should be Errol Spence instead of Yordenis Ugas. Though I am very much aware of Spencer's eye injury that postponed their match. Is it possible that Manny Pacquiao has been double crossed in this particulat fight?

A surprised match to Ugasis definitely a recipe of disaster for a player who doesn't even have the time to prepare before the match  Angry

Both fighters surely do their best inside the ring, and both have a different advantage that is very visible throughout the fight, Yordenis Ugas face was swollen, while Manny Pacquiao has cuts and blood, and even though Pacquiao loses the fight it is still a magnificent performance his speed still visible but he now surely lack the power in getting a KO but it is still visible on Ugas face, it surely didn't really upset Pacquiao that much he doesn't need to prove anything here, Pacquaio at 43 and still have the caliber like this Errol Spence Jr. surely need to be afraid, and this may be the final fight for Manny Pacquiao so congrats to both men.

Yes, father time has caught up with Manny Pacquiao.

I would love to see him fight again, but I'm afraid that he has lost his touch already, the timing is off, hand speed is not there anymore. It's time for him to hang up his gloves and call it quits. He can't hang up with the young generations of welterweights. Maybe if that is Spence, I think Pacquiao will be knock out cold maybe in the 10th round, just my honest opinion on him.

We all felt bad because it was supposed to be Spence but with all the last-minute changes, Manny Pacquiao doesn't have a choice but just to continue the match.
Isn't it that he has also experienced this before? but I can't remember what match was that. But what's done is already done and Ugas won, we have to accept it.  Undecided

Yeah and that's the hard part.

Regardless, Pacquiao remains the greatest boxer for Filipinos and, without a doubt, one of the best in the world. His name will live on in boxing history, and perhaps even more so in Philippine history.

Having an 8-weight division title holder in boxing history is perhaps the most difficult feat that anyone can accomplish. Manny have brought great honor to the Philippines. And, if I had to give him some advice, I would tell him not to be swayed by politics. Because all of the good things he has, such as a good family, fame, and wealth, are things he should be grateful for. He is a naturally talented boxer who is unfit to be president and should remain so.

But still, even you have lost a fight. Congrats

Huge respect for Manny Pacquiao he really wants this bad because he is moving to a new endeavor it's another big chapter in his life and he wants to end it with a big win, but the age is catching up on him I still saw the speed and the aggressiveness but he failed to make the necessary adjustment he is too careful and his legs are stiff.

Manny did not lose a single ounce of respect, 8 division world champion still fighting the same at 42 years old, is this feat still achievable by the present and coming generation of boxers I don't think so, his countryman should be proud of him because if there is a debate about who is the all-time great Manny's name will always pop up and where he comes from.

...snip

Congrats
Yes, he's still one of the greatest boxers that we have ever seen. He has given the honor, helped a lot of people and made his life better through his entire career, and did well in terms of living.
I'm feeling his speech was like a farewell. Did anyone felt the same when he has given his speech?

And I still admire his performance today, indeed he didn't win the match but his opponent didn't easily beat him a lot of his hard punches landed perfectly on Ugas' face, and in the last two rounds Manny struggled to knock his opponent down, unfortunately his strength is not the same anymore and 43 years old not an ideal age anymore for a boxer to keep fighting.

No doubt Manny Pacquiao will still remain a popular personality in his country but i was shocked to see the result of the match. I thought that despite all the odds, Manny Pacquiao will win this match and i was quite confident on this.  Sad  I could see him defense the right way and never looked to dominate the match. I really feel sorry for him to have this defeat at the age of 42.
