He has an excuse in that fight...............
-snip-

Nailed it, there's no doubt that he is still one of the best if not the best in the world of boxing. However, I'd like to list his excuses that I remembered every time he loses.  Grin

On the lose to;

Mayweather,.... he got a shoulder injury.
Marquez... he got careless
Ugas... his legs were tight.
Jeff Horn... he got robbed.
Couldn't disagree with this which this had been a bit of a behavior whenever he do lost up a certain fight on where it always had that kind of reasoning which is mostly in parts of his body.

Well it isn't that much of a concern because this doesn't only talk about himself but also in others boxers as well where they would be always having those reasoning.

Cant we just move forward and moved on on the recent event like this one.@OP I don't see any more worth on making out some discussion of this finished fight.
So better lock this thread out.

He has an excuse in that fight, so probably if he still chooses to fight again, another excuse would not be accepted again if he gets defeated. He said his legs were tight during the fight that's why he can't move his usual way, we actually did not see the move that we saw during his fight against Thurman, so let's give him the benefit of the doubt, one more fight and if he lose, then it's over.
On the eve of the match between Manny Pacquaio and Errol Spence Jr, Pacquaio said the reason he returned to boxing was because he wanted to have a really clean fight without any drama, but in the end the match was canceled due to Spence injury.
But it seems that Pacquaio reasoning changed after ugas became Spence substitute opponent, because it was clear that pacquaio wanted to reclaim the belt that was revoked by the world boxing federation and give it to ugas for free at the time , i think in that match pacquaio was too eager to beat ugas with a knockout defeat and it drains he stamina . we all know the current pacquaio is not the pacquaio of three years ago who is able to move fast and aggressively, I think his legs are starting to weaken and slow down because of the age factor.

We saw him slowed down in that fight, and he was not able to hit Ugas because he had a problem moving his feet. I don't know, maybe he overtrained or maybe you are right that he was aiming for the KO that drained his energy in the early rounds.

Lack of stamina, he's already 42 in age and what do we expect even he's minds still has it but the body movements are no longer the same.

he wanted to win as he always like that, but this time he can't force things to his favor his side, we saw how Ugas managed to observed and find the right adjustments to win over him, there's no doubt that the man deserves the title.

Nothing to prove to Manny he did many things to bring pride and his legacy will be remembered whatever decision he has after this fight.

An aged, experienced, and well-trained Manny has still lots of stamina, it's just that he suffer leg cramps on his fight (at least according to him) and it's too painful to bare especially for boxing with 12 rounds, many speculate due to his age as its prone one or over training.

Yup, although there's sort of a clue of what he has said it can be altered after when he's done with his next focus. Everyone is aware of what he's going to focus on once he goes back to our country. He has brought pride and that's already enough but I guess his promoter will still going to continue his matches if there will be younger boxers that would be interested to box him. There's still money for his fights and that's why whether he retires or not, but if he's interested to get back, there will be a sure opponent to take him in the ring.

And I believe his statement is true because he is not a good moving target for Ugas, if Manny wants to prove something, he should willingly take the rematch as the champion is willing to give him another chance, but if he loses again, I guess there's no doubt that his career is over and he has to retire.

Ugas was underrated prior to the fight, but with the kind of fight and respect he showed to the legend, I'm sure he gain some fans after the fight.

To be honest, I don't understand why you guys bet on Pacquiao. The odds are not attractive.

If I'm not mistaken around @1.2, @1.3? Too low for putting up a risk.
Or maybe you choose the winning method or other betting options instead? What are the odds for these? No idea here.
Anyone who placed a bet on Manny Pacquiao thought it was an easier bet to win and everyone thought Yordenis Ugas was a much easier opponent than Spence Jr and i am sure many burned their balance placing a bet with low wages. I should have placed a parlay on the fight but then i was not confident about the conditioning of Manny as he was coming back after a long gap.

He’s still a good boxer and brings out a good fight despite of that age, though he may not be the same as before but looking at his strong punches to Ugas, we can say that he trained a lot and he is still strong he can still fight if he wants to. Very unfortunate to experience a leg cramps during the fight, still a good one though.

He already prove that His still a good fighter, maybe its just his age that’s why he needs to quit boxing. At his age he already prove how good he is in boxing and how he can make his country proud with or without winning. Hus fans already asking him to stop for him to enjoy his life. He’d been through so much that he deserves to rest and enjoy the fruit of his labor from his entire boxing career. No one will doubt how good atill he is in boxing and how well the fight still went even in age difference.

Well it seems he changed a lot, I don't see the real Manny Pacquiao on this match, it seems he is very weak in this fight. I saw he has a very slow movement compared to the last fight. During his interview after the fight that was, he said, because of his leg cramps, so that is a sign that he is old enough to give a fight. I think that is enough, he give already had so many fights and entertainment, it is time for him to rest and resign from this kind of career. Just a fun fact, he had ads regarding body pain killer drugs [ALAXAN] but he had leg cramps.

Father time spares no one, not even Manny Pacquiao gets away from it. I don't think it's the leg cramps that cause his movement to be slow, I think it's the reflexes that are not present anymore, unlike when he was younger. Mind and body don't sync anymore.

In the post-fight interview, he said that he will decide his future next month but I do think this is the end of Manny and hang up his gloves to avoid further damage to his body, especially the brain.

It means age is showing up and he should retire from professional boxing and if he still have the itch to compete he should compete in exhibition fights just like Floyd Mayweather and hopefully make a ton of money. I was curious to see how Manny would return and continue his speed at this age when he was coming back after two years mainly because of the pandemic and that showed in this fight.

He's still 42years old actually, I don't think he's ready to retire and if you study Pacman very you'll see that it is not about him proven something but he's a fighter that doesn't like to turn down every challenge, and Errol maybe the one to pay for his lost to Ugas if he still chooses to fight him.

He is lucky to still fighting at that age, he was the oldest champion in the welterweight division and there's nothing to prove anymore.
I agree with you and the last time check most boxing fighter of his weight usually retire within 30-39 age range but he still choose to fight despite he's 42 and will be 43 when it December if I'm remember correctly.

Though he did not say he will retire, we've seen enough from him, he was dominated in the fight and that is the first time I saw him being hurt so much though he still stands until the end of the 12 rounds.
I'm not surprised that he withstand Ugas punches cause he don't give up easily and he's hoping their will be chance for him to get back but Ugas don't give the chance. However, he claim his leg are somehow heavy during the fight which I believe is due to his age.
I think he may choose to retire this year.

Having said that, I like his honest statement after the fight and it is sad he lost though cause a lot of people will lose so much money through the fight.
While those who back him to win loses money, those who back the underdog won a good amount of money, nothing to be sad, that is gambling, you win or lose, it's just a matter of acceptance and understanding the risk.
Yes, you are right and does that bet on Ugas to be the winner have won a big odds.

We will see, he said that he don't want to engage on such exhibition fight like what Floyd did or doing right now. I think if he hang up his gloves, it will be final, I reckon.

Legs cramps appears if you are old, meaning your body is not responding anymore. That's what happens to him in this fight. Age->leg cramps->no movement. Remember that Manny has a massive calves and fighters generate their power from their legs. If the legs are not working then you are going to lose, which happen to Pacquiao.

Lack of stamina, he's already 42 in age and what do we expect even he's minds still has it but the body movements are no longer the same.
An aged, experienced, and well-trained Manny has still lots of stamina, it's just that he suffer leg cramps on his fight (at least according to him) and it's too painful to bare especially for boxing with 12 rounds, many speculate due to his age as its prone one or over training.

Yes, father times are going to come whether we like it or not specially for athletes.

So it's better for Pacman to quit, no need for him to fight another, nothing to prove, he has cemented his legacy. One of the greatest of all time, regardless of what his critics are going to say in the future. And sure hall of famer as well. If ever he goes to politics and run for the Presidency that is his choice, but he has given us a lot of good fights and wish him the best.

Buboy Fernandez might retire with him as well.  Grin

He need to quit, but only after one good farewell fight. I don't want to remember his last fight as a defeat against Yordenis Ugas. Let him fight against Errol Spence or Mikey Garcia. Even if he gets beaten, there is some respect in it. Having watched Pacquaio for well over a decade, it is really hard to get in terms with his recent loss against Ugas. But it needs to be seen whether Pacquaio has the appetite for another fight. He looks extremely exhausted and may retire from professional boxing altogether to concentrate on politics.

He has nothing to prove anymore on boxing, he is the greatest for me but when it comes to politics I think he will have a huge mountain to climb, surveys don't approve of him running for presidency, he should instead try his luck in the vice presidential race he has a good chance if Duterte has no plan running in that position, I hope he has good luck in politic just like he did in boxing.

Looks like it's too late to place bet now? I looked at different sports betting website but most of the market is closed in regards with this match I thought I would be able to catch up since the main event is not yet starting. I guess I'll just watch it, Thanks for the users who give free streaming to this match.

Quoting this post of mine. The time I post this I'm regretful that I didn't manage to place bet for Pacquiao but after watching the match I think I'm lucky that day since I'm planning to place a huge bet in Pacquiao since the odds is in favor with him. Though that was some good match from a defending champion and a legendary boxer.

Too much trust which i cant really blame them off and even myself did really believe that Pacquiao would able to win basing off with experienc

I also trust and believes that Pacquiao will win the fight but for taking the 1.2 odds, definitely no way. It's even better to just skip betting rather than taking that odds even that's a sure win by the others. Betting $100 to win a $20 is riskier than betting with Ugas at 3.2.

Move on indeed. Ugas did a good job and what a good record now on his profile.

Pacquiao should not take fights again at that level. He will just be giving some dirt on his reputation losing to those underdog boxers until retirement.

Well maybe this time that he lose the fight with Yordenis Ugas could be a sign for him to retire from his long time career. I mean this is just my personal opinion but this man Manny Pacquiao were already aged and as we would remember his recent fight could be a sign that he lost already some of his best strength in boxing and also let's add the fact that his focus in life were divided between politics and boxing I mean he was an aspirant to run in a race of presidential position in their country but I do think that this man Manny Pacquiao is such an spontaneous man who knows what will be his next decision in future.
