Its swarming with defi coins so its kinda hard to say which one is the best. Almost all coins now are affiliated with defi or some making or changing their project into defi. But if we gonna based it on actual performance we can see those top tier project defi product such as aave and sinx. Plenty of projects now in the defi trend so pick your poison.

They are very popular but avoid DeFi on Ethereum because the gas fees will eat all of your profits. There are a lot of rewards that I can't claim because the gas fees are worth more than what I farmed. Now I farm on Spookyswap on Fantom and on Ref Finance on NEAR protocol, both of these have amazing rewards. I'm considering moving my funds from BSC to NEAR when the rainbow bridge is live too.

sometimes that's a classic problem. The huge cost of gas has become one of the scary things nowadays. ETH gas costs are very high and sometimes it's hard to predict inaccurate gwei increases.

It depends on the project because whether it is DeFi project or the Altcoin project if the project really develops a serious project and has a good plan that can grow in the future, that will be a good project that can give you profit. But DeFi is just a new trend in the crypto world so you need to know that every trend will end and replace by new trends. If you want to invest in DeFi, you need to research to find the right project. That will be the same for investing in Altcoin. But I suggest you invest in bitcoin if you are hard to find which is a good project.

When Altcoins first came there were discussions on which was best - bitcoin or altcoin, today you know the answer is bitcoin, even if you might deny it. Then came questions on which altcoin among all altcoins was best - answer was none, but people did not like that but today you know even that is true.

So now we have the same question on DeFi. Answer remains same, only bitcoin is the one which is best. Altcoins are shitcoins that have no intrinsic value and those projects running the name of DeFi to run stablecoins and lending pools are more or less the same waste of time and money that altcoins are.

In case you are misinformed, only wannabe traders get into altcoins and they get rekt pretty quickly too and stop trading. The one who remain for long know that bitcoin is the only coin to buy and any other "New project" coming up is a time waster money grabber.

Defi is a classification and they're platforms unlike altcoins, they're the usual altcoins that we know. Most DeFis are accepting altcoins for you to yield farm and stake if they have that feature specific for the altcoin that you'll deposit there. Knowing what's best, it depends to your knowledge and investing style if you want to go with simply holding altcoins or invest them into DeFis. But if you talk about the best, it's best for you to have bitcoin and it's the best from alts and DeFis.

As far as i know if almost all of the defi platforms in the cryptocurrencies were offering almost similar features but the thing that makes it different should be from the reputation of the platform itself. I personally will try to pick the TVL as a way to determined which was the best defi from the altcoin.

There are lots of defi platforms have been running on the various chains but the question is didn't mind it if these list come from the various chains?

I am not sure what exactly your question is to be honest. If you are asking if Defi projects are the best altcoin projects then i don't think that there is a clear answer for that. Defi has definitely changed the cryptomarket as a whole and i am also pretty sure that defi will not disappear like many other Trends that we had before but it will stay forever as a big pillar for the crypto space. New Trends are still emerging though. At the moment the topics of NFTs and play to earn games are also pretty hot.

If you could be more specific in which coin you want to compare then it will be an easy answer for those who have knowledge about it.
There are a lot of projects under DeFi, PancakeSwap is one and it had been a great help for easy and fast swaps.
It's like the ICO craze, many ICO's do look good in paper but when soft cap is never reached due to lack of investors or failure in marketing they went down.
Don't get confused though, they are still all altcoins just named differently under a new platform.

Basically meaning there are projects with defi start and there are projects which are non defi as well. So, the question here is basically like "if you had your own project, would you start with defi or regular coin?" basically. Plus for investors as well, "if defi is popular than isn't it easier to invest in defi than coins because defi will get a lot more attention?" type of situation. It works on each side and points so I sort of understand.

However, I do not agree that defi is a must for a project to be big, there are many projects which are not defi and they are doing fine as well. We just need a bit more time for coins and less time for defi but they both could be bad or very good.

Defi coins are still altcoins. You make it sound like it is different from alts whereas they are the same. Defi means decentralized finance and there are coins built in that pattern which are also altcoins. These coins are built in a way that makes them have real use in real life and not some coins built in fantasy without use. I will go for any coin that is a DeFi as against a memecoin any day.

If you're interested in defi projects, then go ahead and do your research about them and choose, but if you do that very research properly you'll discover the sort of risks with scams and hacks you are about to face if you decide to invest in defi, of course there was a lot of hype surrounding it some months back, but it all seemed to go down sooner rather than later, though there are still talks about defi, but not as much as it was when it came on the scene. Having said that, the depreciation of the defi hype can be attributed to the reality of what investors experienced when they put their money into it, the thing is, many of this projects are not long term ones and I'm pretty sure they'll not be popular for too long, if you intend to be a long term investors, just choose eth or Bitcoin, they are more or less your best bet.

What specific Altcoins you're talking about because DeFi is an Altcoins. I saw a lot of good DeFi project in the past year and until now they are doing good and successfully launch their project despite of having a new trend which is the NFT tokens. If you're into altcoins, make sure you are investing only on good projects, don't forget that there's a lot of fake project, so always careful on choosing where to invest.

I think DeFi is one of the best usecase of altcoins, since Bitcoin whitepaper also mentioned that Bitcoin was proposed for Financial tools.
If you ask me what best DeFi at this time, i would mention Omm.Finance, its enable many Financial function to its users, like Lending and Supply, LP Farming, Staking, even its platform age its not reach 30days yet and would growing in the future.
