Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL?

Solana is a new promising altcoin that surpassed dogecoin to be ranked up to seventh place on CMC. And based on its price last August 15 2021 it is only 44$ and now its current price is 157$ based on that super Sonic price movement from 44$ to 157$ for just one months, I think Solana is good for short term investment, what would be your insights about this guys. Good for long term or short term investment?

I wouldn't do it myself.
solana is just a new altcoin and has just been released in the market with the seventh position in coinmarketcap, while bitcoin and ethereum have quality beyond solana and also have a value that exceeds any altcoin, surely bitcoin and ethereum can also give us all advantages. My advice is not to be influenced by newly launched altcoins even though they have good value like Solana.

IMHO, Sol it's not only good for short term investment but also good for long run, It's offering tons of benefits and much better comparing to Ethereum Network, Higher TPS, Cheaper fee, Faster transaction times and Smart-Contract integration so it's really good, Also rather than selling ETH, BTC or other your asset i suppose it's much better to split your funds and buy some SOL so you should get good portfolio, Good luck!

Good thinking! why would you sell your assets if you can split it up?

We should always be realistic as we are inside volatile market, it's hard to predict as whale can be there to interfere.

Even we seen good market movement with certain coin, once whales decide to play the project will experienced uncontrol movement either to fall back or to pump high. Better and much safer not to stick with a single coin but splitting it up would give you better chance of success.

Both of these patterns are suitable for investing in Solana, both short term and long term, Solana is different from Dogecoin, Solana is more effective and stable in its movement in the market, compared to Dogecoin, it's just that Dogecoin has a good effect from speculation caused by Elon Musk, I have studied solana from the last month and there is a possibility that later this year solana will deliver the best value shocks on the market, with some assumptions that I have discovered from market observations and investors.

You're right. People are so attracted to the hype of sol now that they want to sell their bitcoin and eth and buy sol. This creates hype in the market and spreads its influence among traders.

Every time we see this kind of discussion when a coin pumps up and creates hype in the market, people start comparing that coin to bitcoin and eth. But later it was seen that the coin could not even go near the edge of bitcoin and eth. So I would tell those who are thinking of making such a decision to think twice.

The hype from Solana might have occurred when the coin experienced a very high increase on September 9 and now this coin has decreased due to the impact of the falling Bitcoin price so if we currently buy Solana coin it is also very good but I see if we buy this coin at this price right now the risk is very high seeing the very high hype that has been going on this coin.

I agree with you, we can all notice that every thing that is discussed and becomes a topic of many is what is happening !!, Just like tokens solana, shiba, doge, citizen and that's the hot topic of conversation. even though if we look at the development of other tokens, there are still many but why not discuss them? I think it is not a good idea because both Bitcoin and Ethereum are leading coins and they have maintained their credibility over a long period of time and still enjoy confidence of crypto community. Solana is comparatively a new coin though it has attracted huge investment during the past months but few back its network remained down for more than 14 hrs. due to heavy load of transactions which reelects that its team need to do much more work to improve their network if they want to compete with Ethereum Block chain.

You opened this thread when Solana was on all time high price. If you opened it earlier we could have believed you. I don't think it's a good idea to jump in a coin for short term that already made its move. I think Solana would be successful in long term, we can see it in Top 10 for next couple of years. If that happens SOL price would definitely rise as other top coins do. I bought Solana for way lower prices and even though I believe its long term success, I wouldn't touch it for this price right now.

Solana is a promising project with  lots of back ups and also one of the trending blockchains which has been gaining so much traction lately, solana has really been on the rise and is really high right now , tho it still got chances of still pumping buh for me I prefer $Near which is the next sol, with my little research $Near got so much advantages over sol and is currently undervalued so I think investing in $Near would be more profitable.

Solana went from 22 dollars to 200 dollars and if you invested on sol or long it on Binance futures the profit return will be very high. But too bad if you missed that but since I didn't partake I don't think I'll advice anyone or I myself sell btc to invest in eth. They are many projects with huge returns out there e.g $NEAR, PYR,ADA.  I so much love the NEAR ecosystem and I've been following them looks pretty promising and PYR gaming is cool too.

I think that selling some of your ETH and BTC to diversify is definitely a good idea. I hold 50% of my portfolio on BTC and ETH then the rest I have NEAR, SOL, ADA, and AAVE. These are all projects that I’m very bullish on and so far this bull run NEAR and SOL have given me the best returns.

Its always a good idea to diversify and not put all your eggs in one basket… but solana is one for the future and not for short time holding…. I think you have to buy to hold for a very long time before you can actually see good results ,its on a high right and panic selling for anyone would only lead to you losing money… just buy and hold

It's hard to say, it all depends on what you expect from the current market.
For example, for Bitcoin and Ethereum, you do not need much to return to ATH, but for Solana, this is a path of almost 50%, so it is quite normal if you transfer part of your assets to Solana.

That is exactly why there are so many people who are not entirely sure what they should do with SOL. If they buy right now, they would be buying right after it grew too much, but if they do not buy right now and this hype that it created goes even longer than they will be too late in the future. Sure if they bought early on that would have been better for them but that is mute point now, it is in the past. So, if nobody buys because it is high already then the price will bottom out and be very low, since people do still buy it that means there are still some buyers even after the increase.

So, what should people do? Should people stop what they are doing and sell their SOL? Or should they continue to buy? I would say if you have some money saved aside that you are not using for any other coin, it could be smart to leave a small portion of your portfolio in SOL. I mean not a ton, just a small amount, but still dip your toes in the water.

It looks like Solana is a promising project with a good future. However, I would not sell my Bitcoin or Ethereum to spend the proceeds to buy SOL. Better to have all three of these valuable coins in my wallet.
Hopefully the current market correction will make Solana's price more attractive for me to buy.

he follows the trend created by Solo. many projects were successful and had tremendous price increases. Of course, it caught the attention of many traders and investors.
but selling bitcoin and ethereum for SOL I don't think I would. but if you want to trade on the SOL market, I think selling some for trading and still keeping BTC and ETH as main investment assets is not a bad choice.
