If the internet will be down in the future, the crypto industry will undoubtedly stop as well. Any transaction and the mere existence of cryptocurrencies heavily depend on the internet. So if in the future the internet will be down, I do not think that crypto industry will still thrive. Yet, I doubt that internet won’t be part of the future being that "it is the future", especially in the following modern generations.

Is there any crypto project that can transacts without the internet? I heard there was one two years ago I couldn't remember the name again but why isn't such project doing so well today? If the internet goes down in future this type of project will be useful don't you think?

How was it operated then? Is this even possible? I don't think so. If there's any such project, I think it will be one of those with real world offices. Maybe they could be able to develop a blockchain that is operated without internet, just like bank ATMs.
I think anyone that would be creative enough to develop such cryptocurrency would have its coin competing with BTC in the couple of years to come.

I dont get the point why everyone is obsessed with the internet shutting down - seriously speaking, if that would happen, then every service being provided that depends on a working internet will also shut down - there will be total chaos in a country and in such a war like situation, crypto is not the primary concern, but people's lives are. And would a government really want such things to happen? Think logically and rationally. There is a difference between being skeptical and being delusional.

Yes, it will because we don't know if a dark time of the world will come that internet has been down maybe for a day or two since all of us now are reliant to internet.

Internet going down in the future could be a reality considering North Korean , China threat and some disgruntled individuals here and there. I have heard that Bitcoin could be transacted through phone calls. How true that may be is still unknown to me. The likely of restoring internet if it were down is also very high as practically everything depends on Internet communications!

I think a true cryptocurrency shouldn't totally rely on the internet in that manner because the internet isn't really decentralized. A true cryptocurrency shouldn't be based on centralized infrastructure otherwise that can be consider a point of failure for the cryptocurrency.

I think some sort of crypto that is backed by physical assets will continue to operate locally without the internet and could operate like xender or similar apps. This shouldn't be too difficult to create. Infact, existing apps could be modified and used for that purpose.

What I know is that cryptocurrencies are closely related to the internet. It is impossible for cryptocurrencies to transact without the internet. Almost all existing projects are related to the internet as well as making the internet a supporter for some incredible advancements such as transactions, games, social media and much more.

I am not sure that people would even think first about their portfolio when the internet dies or just went non-existent for a while. Just imagine those entities inside the internet when they even shutdown for a while. Let's say.... Google.
It greatly affected the internet traffic. Recently even Facebook going down for around couple of hours, people went crazy in Twitter.

Cryptocurrency will remain. Isn't it like bitcoin can be sent through files offline? The problem is that when the internet no longer exists in the future we will lose touch with the cryptocurrency community. Slowly cryptocurrency will die here or just become an item for secret transactions.

But the use of the project will become less effective. If the internet had no cryptocurrency it would be an unpublishable thing. We can no longer make cryptocurrencies an investment. Because there are few locations where internet cannot access. But it is not easy for any project to make payment without internet.

There is no history that one day the internet will die, we in the crypto space play fully using the internet network, whether transactions or not, every project issued in the crypto space also works with the internet, especially the transaction section, if one day it really happens that the internet dies then all projects can do nothing and crypto will also be closed forever.

This is the most important thing, because blockchain is very dependent on the internet, if the internet dies then we can certainly not use cryptocurrency, this is what makes many countries worry about the internet so many countries are always innovating to provide better internet services, the impact of The internet is huge and certainly not only cryptocurrencies are impacted but almost all transactions nowadays rely heavily on the internet.

I don't think any project is working on offline transaction approval. I believe the Internet is a must to make crypto transactions. Internet is a part of everyone's life. If any project starts to approve offline transactions, in my opinion, it will be very demanding.

Internet will probably not go down for long. The people now went crazy even just a minute of not having internet so Companies and other institutions will be finding ways to fully maintain the system. Whenever the internet there will be no transactions to happen and if there’s any  abnormalities within that time will need to be track. If this thing happen in the future, I ma pretty sure that the Altcoins or Bitcoin will surely be dead instantly, that's the reality in which we need to accept it. due to nowadays, internet wherever we go it is always part of the business in the entire world now. Especially, in terms of communication in different countries and others as well.

So far, there is no transaction and it is impossible for transactions to occur without an internet connection. Regarding the future, I think it is impossible to predict exactly how it will happen for sure. But efforts for the best are still being made. Likewise with projects in crypto.

No human can foresee things that will happen in the future even though every developer is always working for a better target, and about the internet it will be much better as long as the development of the network is always done.

Basicly if internet is down all transaction is going down, but when it is up again. The ledger is still there even though only fer people start the software at the begining. Thats the power of blockchqin and cryptography. Unlike centralised system when its down the chance of its going back when internet back only small..
