Anyhow, he has a big task on hand in Murata, the Japanese is also a very tough fighter. So hopefully we can watch and enjoy this fight.

But I'm still picking GGG to win maybe by decision or knock out if he can still pull the trigger.
This will be a close match, GGG is a veteran fighter who's still in his prime while the Japanese pride Murata is also an average fighter who defeats opponent with better experience and skills. Looks like we're gonna enjoy this fight, and this time GGG is in the reach disavantage agains the Japanese boxer.
I'm not gonna pick which I'd bet for now, this Japanese fighter named Murata is new to my ears and I'd research his history for now. And as of GGG, I have no doubts for him but we'll see.
It's been almost a year to since we saw GGG fought, his last match is a win against Kamil Szeremeta, but this match is also a must watch and yes it will be a close fight because Murata is also a tough fighter who defeats boxers with a much more higher experience than him. Although GGG is at the reach advantage in this match, I still believe tha he'll win against the Japanese Pride. I did some research on Murata's recent matches and I can say that GGG will have this one.

Hopefully we can see a trilogy against Canelo, if GGG could actually make this match.

The pandemic is the reason for the long break, if it was a normal situation he would be active because his age is catching up, i am hoping that GGG will not find any difficulty in the fight against Murata and after that hopefully we will be seeing the trilogy against Canelo and that is the only fight that i enjoy now because the first two fights were really close and that is the only fight i want to see because of their skill level.

Yeah, probably it could be due to pandemic, or GGG can't find any suitable opponents in this division as he seems to be cleaning it out again. Or maybe the he really targets Murata but it did take some time to negotiate specially the place of the fight, perhaps there are still restrictions in Japan.

Everyone wanted to see a GGG vs Canelo trilogy but it seems that it is not going to happen. Canelo is way too big for now.

Maybe the restriction is very strict because when the Olympics was held in Japan there was no audience allowed to witness the games, but maybe now that vaccines are rolled out fast, they can allow audience in this particular fight.

Everyone wanted to see a GGG vs Canelo trilogy but it seems that it is not going to happen. Canelo is way too big for now.
They can always find a way if they will mutually agree to fight, and maybe we will again see Canelo engaging in a real challenge.

Canelo has told numerous times, that he is not interested to fight against a man who he has already beaten. I think that these two will never meet again. GGG looks old now. If they would meet, GGG would ne 40+ already, while Canelo would be more fresh. I can suppose that there might be situation, when there are no challengers left and they have to meet, but I really doubt such situation ever happen.

Unless I see Golovkin was beaten and slow then that's the think I'll think that his career is over I have read so many times here that Golovkin is already old but I have not seen him beaten, he still can beat and knock out younger boxers and this match will be the judge if he is really that old to fight Canelo, Canelo should stop thinking that he beat GGG because on their last fight it's not even one-sided and some people think GGG wins.

You have said it - "he still can beat and knock out younger boxers". That are the main GGG opponents after his second fight against Canelo. Lets look on Canelo opponents - Plant, Smith, Sauders. Their level age higher than Szeremeta and Derevyanchenko. Would you agree with that? After second GGG vs Canelo fight, Canelo only fought stronger opponents and improved, while GGG had so-so opponents and remained on the same level of experience.

P.S. I strongly believe that GGG won their first fight, so it is 1-1 between them. Because the score 118–110 is a total bs. The judge must be blind because she gave so huge points difference.

The majority of us here believes that Golovkin still has what it takes to beat tough opponents and the poll shows it, it's all Golovkin, I also believe that Golovkin is still the Golovkin we've known, he just aged but the power speed and the toughness is still there based on his last fight against
Szeremeta, let's see now after a long layoff if he is still the Golovkin that can stand to toe against Alvarez.

Not surprising yet the community isnt blind on not to see when it comes to numbers or statistics which it is safe to presume on whose much stronger and better but we do know that chances of upset could really happen anytime thats why we shouldnt really that be confident if you do intent to make out some all in bets with GGG. He's getting old though but doesnt mean that he doesnt already have that power and speed.
One sided match? most likely.

Yeah, majority here are smart bettors, and highly intelligent boxing fans.

We know that GGG has still something left in him at this age and even if we acknowledged that Murata is good they are not on the same page as far as skills goes, even in the intangibles, GGG is still supreme.

Against Szeremeta, and maybe because of the long layoff, he was somewhat rusty, but he gets the job done and won.

Maybe, this will be the last hurrah for GGG inside the boxing ring. Let's see if he will announce his retirement to this sports after this fight. But it is no surprise that people here are still on GGG's side. So when it comes to bookies, more than likely they will favor GGG here. Also, in terms of last fight, GGG's last was last year, whereas, Murata was in 2019. So we will see who is prepared to get the WBA & IBF belts for middleweight championship here.

This is going to be an easy GGG battle for me. I haven't watched a fight of this Murata but looking at their statistics it seems obvious to me Golovkin has all the advantages. Not to mention that Ryota has been inactive prior to this fight for two full years. That will definitely matter. Of course, Golovkin, too, has been inactive but only for one year. It always bothers me why Golovkin was not given a fight for a year when age is not on his side anymore. Anyway, I'm a GGG fan and I still consider this man undefeated.

Good point, actually both of them are inactive, but Murata for 2 years.

So definitely there will be ring rust for him, although the fight is going to be held in his country, still being out for more than a year in boxing will really affect you in the beginning. And when you try to find your groove, it might be too late as we all know that GGG will always makes it a hard fight for anyone.

But Murata is no push over, he might be inactive for 2 years, but he is a champion. And like in NBA wherein you play in your home court and you have all the confidence because you know the crowd is behind you, this might be the case for Murata here.

He could be behind the judges scorecard, but for sure he will give everything in this fight because he wanted to please the local crowd and he is viewed as a hero in boxing.

Without a doubt this is going to be a problem for GGG, it is obvious Murata is a good fighter but the fact that GGG agreed to have the fight being held at Japan means a huge disadvantage for him, especially if the fight is close as that will mean the decision most likely is going to favor Murata, this means GGG is completely convinced he can win in a convincing enough manner for this to not be a factor, whether this is by KO or by winning so many rounds that some favoritism is not going to affect him.

I also don't understand why GGG is now being sent to the country of his opponent. He is not the prey in this fight. He is the star between the two. I don't understand why he seems to be the one being sent to the lion's den. Is the camp of GGG that soft in the negotiating table?

I hope I am thinking on the wrong side here. Perhaps GGG's camp is looking forward to a bigger audience and it can only be found in the country of his opponent, considering that Murata doesn't seem to have the attraction from boxing fans if the fight is to be held in other countries.

He just needs to finish the fight as soon as he finds a chance to do so. He cannot give any close decision that might lead to his defeat when he hears a sudden split decision. Looks like it will be a big fight for the Japanese since they haven't seen a good fight such as this one for a long time. Murata needs to give it all here not just depending on the officials to get the win, he also needs to work out to K.O GGG with his skills.

^^ Maybe there is good money on GGG here, we all know that Japanese loves to throw money around Christmas and New Year so it make sense for GGG's camp to go to Japan and seek bigger price.

He is still the A-side in this fight so probably he gets the bigger paycheck.

So still a win-win situation for GGG here, take Murata's belt, unify it, then what the Japanese offers and then go home.

This is going to be a difficult fight for both, Murata wanted to show that he belongs in this division while GGG is the force to reckon here. And both are champions to begin with, so it's winner take all as the belts are in the line here. And as others have said, Japanese fighter are tough, durable, has a good chin and will go to war at anyone. So GGG should be ready because this will be a hard fight, in my opinion. And as for fighters who travel on the home country, he should not allow this to go to the judges scorecard.

But GGG should be the outstanding favourite here, even if the odds are not yet out.

His only lost is to Canelo but others think otherwise, plus he is the more active of the two, while Murata is out for two years.

Although GGG will be 40 years old, we think that still have the determination to become the greatest MW of all time. He has defended his belt many times already and I don't think that Murata will be the one that is going to stop GGG at this point.
