It seems like a lucky charm on my part but sometimes I don't mind it because I don't usually believe in superstition.

We know that the market works technically and fundamentally aspect, there's no such way to make a profit and maybe you think trading is like gambling that is based on luck, no that's not.

That's funny but whenever the market is dumping, I just go to sleep and think that when I wake up, the market has already been back on its surge.

Some may say it is hilarious but it is a belief to others. As my self I do have a superstition in my life but in trading I don't have one . Praying is one of the pre-trading things I would truly done before taking a trade , it could help a lot , it could improve your confidence in placing trades. Wether you have and don't have superstitions as long as we appreciate one other with their pre-game rituals then it is good.

Well, even though I know that superstitious beliefs do not have evidence-based connection with trading, I still practice some. For instance, I do not trade on unlucky days, including such Friday the 13th and many more. I just chose not to trade for those days, but I do not know for the others. At the end of the day, it won’t hurt to belief and practice superstitions for as long as nobody’s being degraded or whatnots.

I sometimes do random numbers when investing, or simply toss a coin to ask whether I'd still go with my investment if I'm unsure not because of the asset, but rather the current state of the market, especially these few days where everything has pretty much just dropped. I rarely do the number generator now though, I just invest whatever I have at a certain day, flip a coin if I should do it the next instead, and call it a day. It really removes the stress once you stop looking of all the "ifs" and just leave it to a coin.

This is the first time I see such question on the forum.
I'm not superstitious at all,even though I'm cautious that something bad might happen on 13th(today is 13th) or I kinda feel bad,when a black cat crosses my way.However,nothing bad ever happened to me,every time a black cat had crossed my way.
I don't have any superstitions related to cryptocurrency trading or gambling.This is simply stupid.
I don't believe that random events would bring me "bad luck" or wearing some weird talisman would bring me good luck and protect me from bad luck.
You either make good decisions or bad decisions when trading.Those decisions are determined by your education,experience,analysis and mental state.

Because I haven't fully experienced Superstitions yet. this is only about things that are often believed to be, or events that are passed and we ourselves make connections with wearing green clothes, bracelets on the left, or when you sleep you have to face west. I'm not sure if it is superstitions or not, if I place trade on 1am - 3am then that trade is gonna be good but still depends on my analysis usually I wait for right time and if it is on that time frame on my own time zone, then it will be successful it's not proven and it's just superstition but I get more good trades on this time rather than the normal one.

We all have our own beliefs but technical analysis should be the high and most priority since it will give us concrete results rather than our beliefs and superstitions.

Im not really a fan on believing something when it comes to this specially whether in trading or gambling.It just dont work because if you are unlucky then you are unlucky.
It isnt something that could really be influenced by any activities you do tend to be done before you do make trades.
Superstitions are bit normal behavior on some people and we should just let them be on what they do believe and sooner or later they would realized

No, I don't. I may sometimes believe in superstitions belief in the other area but not in trading. Maybe it works into people who believe about this but not on me as I was thinking that only to have knowledge and skill about trading will win, not that any lucky charm or whatever it is. Even my friend who got lucky in trading did not do like this.
What we need in trading is not any of these lucky charms but of self-preparation and market knowledge.

If i take trade on Sunday, than i'll get rekt on that or my portfolio will be more greenish if i made those trades on Tuesday. I think successful people also have a bit of a superstition in their planning and training, but for them to translate into achievements, they respect more than personal ideas, superstition is just compensating for the little things in the plan so that they feel perfect and less flawed. This superstition is higher among amateur traders due to the times when their analytical techniques were at their maximum but to no avail, they needed some superstition, need more worshiping and burning incense so that the spirit produces positive emotions, wouldn't be too silly as long as this superstition is psychologically appropriate

Yes, I have a favorite superstition, to do the opposite from the crowd! When I see masses are moving, and people are rushing to do something I tend to do the opposite... it took some time, and losses, before I figured that out, but since I did trading works just fine for me!
In trading, like in gambling, superstions exist, but we all know that doesn't really work! It can be good for self esteem probably, to give you some positive thoughts about how its your moment and your night... and nothing more from that!

I don't have but sometimes I have some sort of activity to do when I feel lucky. Not directly that it will give me an increased winning chance but hey, we all want a boost when we feel lucky. It happened when I do hunt cheap coins with a nice volume on that day. I can't tell specifically what I'm doing but when I feel lucky, I sometimes treat my friends outside or anything related to entertainment, then when came I back home, tadah! A nice profit once I check my portfolio! My hangover won't try to harm me the next day as the excitement is more dominant.

Of course, that involves analysis. I will not just choose some random cheap coins not reaching my criteria. It's good to wait for something good when you know you will achieve it by higher chance because of our planned strategy.

When you focus on something other than your trading skills, your chances of making the wrong decision increase. Honestly speaking never ever had such sort of stupid superstitions. I do have some sort of market-based superstitions that I have a couple of coins which I feel are not at all profitable for me personally, no matter how well they perform but I would never be able to make profit trading those coins, and there are a few coins that are very lucky for me and they usually give me a lot of profit.

But honestly I think all these are just excuses we use to hide the problems with our trading because eventually all this doesn't matters that much in trading, what matters the most is how well do you handle markets in critical situations.

No and I did not even knew that people did this but it seems it is quite common if I what I read on this thread is any indication, but I will recommend that you forget about this, after all there is no relationship between those superstitions and the results you get in the markets, it is better to dedicate our time to try to improve our trading and investing strategy so we can minimize our losses and maximize our profits, I know this is more difficult than to follow a superstition but it is the only path that leads to success.

Mine is not looking at the results right away. I feel like if I buy something and check the price for the first day then there is a good possibility that it will fall, which I know is not something realistic and doesn't change anything at all but that is just how I do.

Since, I am not a day trader and a long term holder, the price dropping on first day wouldn't even matter to me so why I do not check it is still beyond me, maybe because if it drops too significantly then I missed a better chance to buy cheaper? Aside from that I usually keep everything I buy at least 6 months unless something unexpected happens so there is no logical argument for me to not check it. It is a superstition after all.

Trading is logical and we must be able to think logically too so that we don't associate everything with beliefs for the market journey. we analyze then trade and place targets and stop losses, after that we leave it to fate, or for some reason we stop in the middle of the road

Yes sometimes it happens but these are just a thoughts. Sometime i think that when certain days i get up early and just have to focus on trading then  i make profit hardly that day. But when i does not think as much then profit are easily achieve. So these are all misconceptions not a real so if these type of thinking are related with trading then it will be hard to do well. While I believe in luck in trading, I don't see a place for superstition in it. Believing in superstition in crypto would easily pass off as one taking crypto trading as gambling. Trading has a set of rules that govern it, if one doesn't meet those rules which are in form of skills; one gets into loss. Being superstitious or not doesn't count.

It's not superstition, except you feel (erroneously though) that someone is monitoring your moves from the assets you're buying. Otherwise, I like to tell you that such happens to all of us. There are times when I've found myself in such scenario you've described here. I take a right turn, the asset takes a left turn; as soon as I buy or sell.

Not too often because ETH movement is not predicted and I often miss the right time to buy very low price.
But when I see the price still at a low price while bitcoin still not moving up, I will buy for some amount and hold.
Usually, after the bitcoin price increases, ETH can increase to sell for some amount that I already bought.
But sometimes, my waiting time to sell ETH can be longer than usual as the movement is hard to predict.
In that case, I only hold it or I use it to trade using ETH pair altcoin.

Most people have such superstitious habits, it is funny but it exists, I am optimistic about the odd numbers and when I place an order to buy or sell I choose the odd numbers and I think it will bring me luck, I am also optimistic about certain days to make profits like Friday. Such a combination is not possible at all in the case of cryptocurrency trading. However, I have tried a lot to make such a combination but did not succeed. In most trades my chances of making a profit are very low. So lately, I've stopped trading.

As of I am not following any superstitions for my trading but I do follow while gambling but after this topic and coming across what most traders do share, I guess it would be beneficial if I follow superstitions even for trading. If they keep you calm and happy, well and good. But when it comes to money and trading, you should think about them but about Fundamental and Technical.

I agree with your explanation, indeed when trading we must really learn how to analyze the market well. So that we can predict where the market

That's not a superstition but there is an explanation to that on why you lose, it could be that you have an eye sight problem and see things difficult without your glasses. Lolz, that’s funny but yeah many of them are having some sort of superstition after reading the thread. Idk it may be more or less lucky charms. I mean if we went with the above calculation then everyone has different lucky charms. Not everyone is wearing their lucky charms everyday day so coin status could go rogue. Lolz.

Personally I don’t have anything like this. I’m all the time on the screens once I wake up early in the morning. I don’t even choose daily fashion, accessories etc. Just go with whatever comes in my hands. 

Never I have heard this kind of superstitions even before I started trading and to be honest never I had practiced like this kind on my own, maybe this is one of the reason why I am not that lucky enough on my trading and investing journey lol. Yeah, it may sounds funny and weird but for other investors and traders this kind of beliefs work on them and I respect that. Guess what I am here because I am earning some tips from others who have their superstitions that they really believe gave them luck.

Believing from superstitions will not worsen the struggle so i think if you wish to imitate some of the shared tips here, then go on. But i suggest, never rely on it alone as you still have to do your part as a trader. As much as possible, never stops learning in crypto because being knowledgeable when it comes to crypto trading is always and edge. You could neither follow it or avoid it because on general sense this isnt gambling on which you do really have that kind of behavior on where you do believe with those supertitious things
which we know that it doesnt really work since everything could really be random and would really be basing up on your trading analysis and we know that each one of us does have
different ways on dealing off with the market. Stick into your own analysis and dont really beleive that there is something like this that could really affect your
trading results because this isnt how the reality works.

Just the mere fact of believing in superstitions can affect your trading & investing game. Superstitions are part of a gambler's mindset and not a part of a professional trader's mental skillset.
If you find yourself praying a position will get back into green territory or price will reach your target, that's a sign you don't trust strategy, therefore you haven't backtested or articulated it well enough. In other words it should be like a big placard saying "Get back to the blackboard!"

^ That is definitely right that superstitions are belonged to the gambler's mindset and not to the trader's mindset.
But I think no one will lose if you believe such superstitions by yourself for the trader but this will remind you that skills, knowledge, and strategies are the most important part when you are in trading. Though trading has a sort of gambling it does not mean gambling and trading are the same so superstation is dependent on us. I think a sign of a cross before the game start is a part of the superstition.

Well, of course even if you do believe in some superstitions that you think will bring luck to you, it does not mean that you should stop learning and trusting your own skills in trading. You should still improve it as much as you can, but believing in superstitions won't also bring any harm to us so why not try. After all, it if does not work, then we have nothing to lose. I really never have that beliefs when i trade, but mostly i don't trade when i see myself not motivated because it may only be the reason for me to fail in trading and lose my money.

No sense believing though especially if it's not grounded in logic and the virtue of believing in it is zero. Superstitions tend to make you doubt your move so you end up having to half ass your move and end up failing most of the time because you didn't put an all in because you are too scared due to some belief passed on to you.

There are two different type of superstitions that you could have, and one of them is not a problem or even good whereas the other could be a problem and you would be right. If the one you have is like "holding this special coin in my hand while trading" then you are basically still trading like you normally would without the coin but just holding a coin meanwhile and that would not change anything and it would not hurt you at all and that is not a problem at all.

However, if it is like "I have to buy at even numbers" or something that changes the way you gamble, then you could have a problem, like you are fine with selling at 37k or 35k but can't at 36? That could hurt you. So you need to know the difference between harmful and innocent versions.
