Your points are confusing here, @Cgrexp.  Mere disorganization should not stop any bitcoin newbie from being able to start buying bitcoin if they have discretionary funds.  And, yeah, there are abilities to learn from practice, which is a good justification to get started buying bitcoin as soon as a person realizes that he has discretionary funds, and surely newbies may well have to moderate their beginning position size based on their lack of organization, lack of knowledge, lack of skills, but they can use their best judgement to get started slowly and have bitcoin as an excuse to improve themselves in the various areas that they might already realize that they are lacking.
That's the point, because what we only need to invest in bitcoin is just our discretionary fund. Once you are able to figure out that you have discretionary fund available then you are good to go. A newbies doesn't need to know much about bitcoin before he can get started as it could delay him from starting his bitcoin investment. Some newbies make this mistake that they need to save a lot money or know everything about bitcoin before they can get started. Bitcoin investment isn't expensive and it's not difficult to start because even as low as $10 of discretionary fund you can be able to invest in bitcoin. The most important thing is to get started first, whatever that you didn't know before can be learn while you are investing.

The only thing that can stop someone from buying is being unable to generate a discretionary income which is almost rare cause even if someone doesn't have a job, a discretionary income can be gotten through money gift or won lottery and so, maybe sustaining it could be the issue that's why am confused at the excuse that disorganization would stop someone from buying Bitcoin.

The person who said that is ignorant else he would aware that the discretionary fund is what's needed to buy and not too much and knowledge of the investment. Many people have delayed starting because of excuses like these, especially being a low income earner with many responsibilities but it still doesn't stop people like that from investing.
Well a person without a job is a person without income, and a person without income is a person with a lot of financial problems. So even if at the end he receives cash gifts, it would be hard for the person to generates discretionary income, because he has piles of financial problems. So advisable, if you want to get involve in Bitcoin investment, getting a job is very necessary, with that you will have discretionary income and you will remain consistent with your investment.

Starting a bitcoin journey is one thing and being consistent is another. With a job a person will never be consistent with his accumulation . A person can never depends on monetary gifts, lottery to keep running it portfolio.
I think you meant to say “without a job a person can never be consistent with their bitcoin accumulation”. Which is quite true, a stable source of income improves the chances of having a discretionary income to maintain consistency.

People who don’t have jobs should ensure to have a source of income, a job isn’t the only way to get an income. You can start by rendering services or whatever you can do with your hands or brain.
Bitcoin can be started and maintained by just anyone with the right financial discipline, but having a sustainable source of discretionary income makes consistency much easier.

I agree to what is being said here. If you are new to Bitcoin, you shouldn't know everything about the cryptocurrencies before investing. If they do have some money that they can spend, it's okay to dip your toes in the water with a small bit to get a feel for it before committing to a large purchase. The secret is not to rush or invest funds which they actually need. It would be easier to get started and build up, and keep going, than to feel 100% ready to go.
You are just mixing everything up, you should know when you are talking about and when you are talking about cryptocurrency and dont mix thsm together because it only prove thst you dont know what you are doing and you are not following the discussion going on here.

You dont even need to know everything about Bitcoin to invest, whst you really need to know about is the basic thing. Learning Bitcoin is a gradual process and learning of bitcoin is not about the theoretical aspect but learning from experience by having bitcoin is also important too.
you are totally wrong because you don't buy bitcoin using just  any money, you buy only  using discretionary income( which is money left after you might have settled all essential needs) and just like @sobz said I think you are a  confused, and don't have any knowledge about bitcoin investment that you mistake  it for cryptocurrencies.

And  when  you said about dipping  or hand before you start buying fully, I want you to know that bitcoin invest is not trading where you have to simulate the a particular strategy with before you start using it. Here after you might have figured out your discretionary income you can buy using the DCA or Lump sum method depending on which suit your finance.

Even more reason why you should use the 3 way split so that you don't unintentionally spend more or your discretionary income on one thing and ignore the other so even though you seem to be trying to disagree with the 3 way split you are actually giving it even more credibility, you find out which split is convenient for you and you use that one, this way you don't end up spending more of your discretionary income on one thing and ignoring the others.
For some, dividing into three parts may be a budgeting tool. But to prevent overspending, you have to divide it into three parts. If you look at it this way, it seems to be more important than the purpose of the method.

Let me give you a small example, suppose a person already has a backup fund for a few months. So why would he put an equal part of his discretionary income there every month?

Another person may have zero backup fund and the job he does is also uncertain. In his case, savings may be more important than Bitcoin for some time.

The point is, funds may protect us. But do not forget that at the same time, inflation can erode excess cash. Again, even if you start with absolutely zero backup, you should think about the funds along with investments later.

When it comes to a case of lottery winning or hitting a jackpot it is consider to be under lum sum. You need a consistent income to be able to be consistent in your investment. This is thread that is encouraging everyone to invest in bitcoin, so will all these people be waiting to hit a lottery to begin their bitcoin journey. You can’t bank on lottery winning or jackpot to kickstart your journey.

In a case where someone have a job and it not enough to get a discretionary income, such person is advice to get a more playing job so he can have a discretionary income, with that he can start his bitcoin journey, but until so such person cannot start investing.
If this is what you think, then you obviously have no Iota knowledge of the DCA strategy and what it means to kickstarting your Bitcoin accumulation journey..Very well, folks actually cannot bank on lottery due to the fact that it dosen't come everyday.. But when it happens, and folks hit a jackpot, of course, they can decide to spread out their buys(DCA) without necessarily investing it all at once... DCA can be used regardless of the source of the income...Also again, investing in Bitcoin lies with the availability of your discretionary income right? If that's was the case, you have to know that investing is very much possible even without having a job, talk of less a high paying job...The fact is that there are various ways of earning  discretionary income apart form only having a job... You could get discretionary income from long time savings, proceeds from your investment, monetary bonuses or gift from friends or workplace, side jobs and hustle etc...Even if getting your discretionary income from this sources isn't stable and consistent, folks can still invest by adopting a flexible investment approach- By investing whenever your Discretionary income is available and you don't invest whenever you don't have Discretionary income available...

To be consistent in Bitcoin accumulation, you need to have a regular source of income, it can be any source. Even if you have an unstable source of income, you can at least start Bitcoin. The bold decision is to deposit Bitcoin regularly every week. Whatever the amount, it must be through discretionary income.
Some people prefer to work under others, some are engaged in business or any other profession to meet the daily needs of their family. You have to use a strategic approach in fund management because the entire amount of money you earn should not be spent on the family, you have to develop a saving habit considering the future. You have to make appropriate decisions to increase your financial capacity in the future, such as accumulation Bitcoin regularly.

Having a regular source of income is good but the idea is that our investment is based on the ability of investors to figure out a discretionary income out of their regular income. Most investors will have a regular source of income but still find it difficult to figure out a discretionary income to use for bitcoin accumulation probably as a result of poor financial management or some underlying factors related to either economic conditions, even with such regular income they still can’t maintain financial stability . So, having a regular source of income isn’t just enough, he should be able to have the right financial management skills to enable him figure out a discretionary income regularly for bitcoin investment.

The bold decision is to deposit Bitcoin regularly every week.
No, DCA must not necessarily be done every week, although some investors have the financial capacity to maintain their regular DCA weekly but being consistent doesn’t always mean forcing oneself into doing DCA every week because there could be some weeks where an investor might not figure out discretionary income so there should be room for flexibility. it can be either on weekly, or monthly basis, the idea is to show up at the end of the day and aligning your purchase based on your discretionary cash flow.

A steady income is definitely helpful in accumulating Bitcoins. But it is not a necessity to have a regular job. The secret is making sure you have money that you can spend in your discretion after all your bills are paid. If you have the means of a business or a job and get a steady income, you can also save regularly. Meanwhile individuals should also not feel compelled to purchase bitcoin when they're stretched thin on cash. It's okay to start small. But it must be done through financial discipline and not by cutting back on necessities or relying on the kindness of others or on income that is unpredictable.

Okay, I need to point out that I did not say anything about splitting your discretionary income into 3 equal parts, i get that the confusion is coming from my using 1/3 but the split doesn't have to be equal, you can split your discretionary income however way will be convenient for you as can anyone else.
Of course for someone who already has their backup funds in place a 3 way split of their discretionary income isn't all that necessary since their backup funds are no longer an issue and for these people a 2 way split will suffice, though it is no limited to them but the 3 way split is something newbies who don't have any backup funds in place and don't know how to allocate their discretionary income should use to make sure they don't make mistakes with their discretionary income.
If you are not generating enough discretionary income to buy bitcoin then there is really no need for you to buy bitcoin at that time, you investment comes from your discretionary income but it should be an amount you can afford to lose so your investment should be within a tolerable range of your discretionary income, if you can't tolerate it then don't spend it.

Getting started is very important, some people before getting started they’re always pragmatic about what is going to happen next, and they hesitate about starting with their bitcoin investment, probably they’re scared of failing with the investment, for someone who wants to get started immediately, what you only need now is a discretionary income to get started, once you have figured out your discretionary income then you can get started with investing in bitcoin, people would talk about having knowledge about everything Bitcoin before getting started, you can’t learn everything about Bitcoin with not getting started, they say experience is the best teacher, when you get started that is when you learn more about Bitcoin.
It is not that you need to have a lot of investment knowledge before starting investing in Bitcoin. Even if you do not have much idea or basic knowledge about Bitcoin, you can still invest effortlessly. Investing is not a complicated task at all, but you must know about the risks of investment. Buying Bitcoin, keeping it in your wallet and holding it - you need to know these. Since Bitcoin is a digital currency, no one has any hand in it and you have to keep your investment in custody. So you just need to know these basic things. And you should only invest with the money that you are ready to lose. Invest from discretionary income and keep a long-term goal.

A new investor should have an idea of a few things:

  • How to keep the wallet in custody.
  • Knowing about the DCA strategy.
  • Having an idea about emergency funds.
  • Knowing how to invest in Bitcoin in the long term.

If an investor knows these, then in my personal opinion, it becomes much easier for him to invest. And he will also understand how to hold Bitcoin. An investor will gradually learn everything about Bitcoin, if he continues to invest regularly. The more knowledge he gains about investing, the more sustainable it will be for him to invest in Bitcoin.

This thread is mainly about Bitcoin and we are discussing Bitcoin investment in this thread. Cryptocurrency refers to all the currencies in the market and if you try to compare Bitcoin with shitcoin then you are misguided and you do not have a real idea about Bitcoin.

When you say cryptocurrency, many new people can be attracted to the fraudulent coins in the market without understanding and can invest in those fraudulent coins and lead to their own losses. Hopefully we understand that Bitcoin is the only coin that should be invested in or that is the content of this thread. Say Bitcoin directly and protect everyone from being confused and do not get confused yourself

You are correct that the knowledge shouldn't be the first priority of every investors, even with the little basics understanding can leads them far. The main goals is to developing the habits of consistent buying regularly, don't hesitate on wasting time to achieve what's not necessary at first, what I really loves with this bitcoin investment ideas is, even if you don't know something now from the starting as a newbie, just begin the investment and as time goes on everything would be understood gradually with time. Invest what you can afford to lose and invest with only discretionary income.

Hopefully we are not mixing up shitcoins with bitcoin. We are talking about bitcoin here and not shitcoins, so I am not sure why you think that guys need to know anything about "cryptocurrencies" in order to buy bitcoin... or even how shitcoins is relevant to this topic.

The term crypto is ambiguous, vague and misleading, so when you use it guys do not know what the fuck you are talking about, and if you use it in the context of talking about bitcoin, it is not necessary, since you could just use the term bitcoin so guys know what you are talking about, yet instead, you chose to use the term crypto because you wanted to sound smarter? or what?  or you think that matters related to bitcoin also applies to shitcoins?  It makes little to no sense to use the term crypto when we are actually talking about bitcoin in this thread, unless you were to have some reason to use the term, like you were talking about shitcoins or making some kind of a comparison to shitcoins, then maybe the term might be applicable in those kinds of contexts.
I think people should understand the difference between shitcoins and bitcoin. they shouldn’t be categorize them in the same box. because bitcoin is far different from others cryptocurrencies. To the extent that it has is own history, and investment thesis. If you want to learn about bitcoin, you can study how bitcoin works without involve shitcoins, because in process of mixing bitcoin and shitcoins in conversation, that may create confusion for people, they may start thinking that what happens with shitcoins may surely happen in bitcoin too. to me being precise when talking about bitcoin simply means to be clear about what we are discussing, so that anybody see the conversation for the first time, will understand that this discussion is about bitcoin not something else.

The term Cryptocurrency is ambiguous and may somehow may be misleading for newbies. Since the discussion here is all about Bitcoin investment, it will be better you use the word 'Bitcoin' to describe it since Bitcoin cannot be compared to all other cryptocurrencies and is valuable coin compared to others. Crypto currency is a general term, and shouldn't be used to refer to Bitcoin.

Secondly, about your last statement, I would say that getting started is the real deal. Those who tend to wait to gather much knowledge before starting are only limiting themselves from starting and becoming a barrier to themselves if they already have there discretionary income with them. Of course, we can't learn everything all at once. It's okay for them to start, buy in little fractions, gradually strike a balance between there income and investment and also learn better income management and allocation.

I wouldn't advise any one to invest into shitcoins talk of wasting your time to learn about it, the term cryptocurrency comes with a lot of scam investment that is why you should be more specific so we can ne sure of coin you mean, only invest in bitcoin and invest for a long time don't go and delaying trying to study bitcoin when you can start immediately with your common sense and discretionary income.

Get started immediately if you have figured some discretionary income with you and become a bitcoinner.

How to keep the wallet in custody.
All a brand new investor needs to know is whether he has a discretionary income or not and if he has how much from his discretionary income that he will use to buy his first bitcoin that will enable him continue accumulating regularly every week with DCA. Next is to know where he will buy his bitcoin from. Learning about wallet can be a waste of time for him because wallet is technical and he might even choose a wrong wallet that is closed source which makes it irrelevant and not a criterion for a new investor to start his bitcoin investment because some people are slow learners

When he has started his bitcoin investment, he can first be keeping his funds in the exchange that he's buying from and as his bitcoin investment increases, he can take his time to learn and choose a good open source self custody wallet to store his bitcoin.  Some things that we call basic ain't necessary for you to get started right away because it's a long term journey and you have enough time to learn as you go.

Perfectly spoken. When newbies hear cryptocurrency, they think of so many coins, and they can easily get distracted with other coins. So when discussing Investment, especially in this thread it will be very good to use the word Bitcoin, with that they can get the right expectation.

Practical beats theory all the time, so for those that want to get into bitcoin investment but want to know everything about bitcoin, it impossible and only prolonging your investment.
Another good point is when you invest in bitcoin, even if it as low as $10 or $20 you begin to care about how your investment is going, you begin to care about news, security and even fees about bitcoin.

Splitting one's discretionary cash into three may be a thumb rule but not one you have to blindly stick to. Ideally, I'd feel it is important to build up an emergency fund first, before taking major investment bets.
It is not composary to follow that rule exactly, but it is essential to have a clear financial plan, an emergency fund is very essential when investing in Bitcoin, but I don't think it is necessary to build up an emergency fund first before starting your bitcoin accumulation journey.

You can start your bitcoin accumulation journey, without having an emergency fund, what need to do is to build your emergency fund along side your bitcoin investment, waiting to build up an emergency fund first before you start investing in Bitcoin may delay your investment journey and you might also miss some buying opportunities in the process.
Yes instead of waiting to raise an emergency funds there by delaying your investment it will be better to get started immediately if you have your discretionary income first, emergency funds is important but it doesn't mean if you have it yet that you can't start accumulating Bitcoin, you can start investing and gradually think of how you can raise your emergency funds too through your discretionary income so you don't miss out more buying opportunity while waiting to ha have your emergency funds at first. What i see that is compulsory to get started with our Bitcoin investment is our discretionary income while other funds can come later as you are consistently and persistently accumulating Bitcoin.

I agree with your main point that a person should not wait until a few months of emergency fund is fully built before starting to buy Bitcoin. If he has discretionary income after meeting his necessary expenses, then he can start accumulating Bitcoin from that position. At the same time, his backup funds can also be built gradually. This kind of thinking that one should start Bitcoin after doing all the financial management perfectly on the first day often puts people in unnecessary delay. Suppose a person has a monthly income of $1,500 and necessary expenses of $1,000. At the end of the month, theoretically, he has $500 discretionary income. But I personally do not think it is right if he buys the entire $500 Bitcoin. He can definitely start Bitcoin. But maybe he will put $100 or $200 in Bitcoin and use the rest to form a back up fund and do his other expenses if he has them. Because apart from necessary expenses, sometimes other things are also needed to maintain social life. And there is no guarantee that the expenses will be the same all the time, so it is better to keep some money with him.

And when it comes to starting an investment, you can start with a small amount. If $10 a week is reasonable, you can invest with $10. At the same time, increase your cash reserves. If your income increases or your expenses decrease, a large portion of your new discretionary funds can be put into Bitcoin. That is, the aggressiveness of Bitcoin accumulation will grow with your own cashflow strength, not with market excitement. If you invest with the right mindset, the risk is also low. You can hold for a long time and you don't have to be a no coiner for a long time.

The things that you mentioned as mandatory for beginners to learn are actually not mandatory before starting. But it is definitely important to have an idea about them and try to learn them after starting.
If someone is hesitant about their wallet or does not know about wallets, then perhaps an exchange can be the initial step for them to start and learn. A new investor who has decided to invest today may get bored if it is mandatory to learn about wallets on the first day and may not start. Therefore, there is no need to unite those who are new in any mandatory formula. If they want, they can start from the exchange and learn the so-called basic knowledge. There is no mandatory need to worry about anyone's wallet in the beginning. Later, along with the amount of their savings, they will have to think about their own custody. Because the more your savings, the more important it becomes to know about your wallet and your own custody.

Profit remains part of Bitcoin investment, but then real deal is if you can’t afford 6 years of losses then you don’t actually need to invest for a 10 years time frame, not because your investment plan is wrong but because timeframe is wrong.

At the end I would say if you invest for for a period of 10 years and it yield no profit, that not an investment but Saving with risk.
At least, even if there's no profit on your bitcoin investment for ten years, it's still better than keeping the money in fiat or saving it in the bank because your funds will lose its purchasing power overtime. Bitcoin preserves the value of your money and that alone shows that it better to put your discretionary income into bitcoin and build your bitcoin stash overtime. Profit is an additional benefits.

I don't know what the future holds, but if Bitcoin still doesn't give you a profit in ten years, I don't see much point in investing in Bitcoin. Then Bitcoin will be considered a stablecoin, the only difference is that other stablecoins are centralized, but Bitcoin will be decentralized. If Bitcoin doesn't give you a profit in the long run, maybe no one will invest in Bitcoin, but they will decide to invest their money in stablecoins or assets like gold. Gold can also protect money from inflation and works against inflation like Bitcoin, even gold is a self-custody asset. But you are right that it is better than holding fiat, I agree.

The chances of getting a profit from Bitcoin in the long term are the highest, although not guaranteed, but not less. If we forget about profit, then it is better to invest in Bitcoin for privacy and security. But I don't know if you agree or not, no one will put money in any asset except for profit. When the price of Bitcoin was very low and there was no guarantee of price increase, you might have rejected it if you were advised to put money in Bitcoin to protect yourself from inflation. Because profit is the main purpose, but not the only purpose. It is better not to draw such unrealistic examples!

Ooh yes, even as what is best for Bitcoin investment is discretionary funds, investment is not without hope of profit no matter the other advantages of investment in Bitcoin like protection against inflation and others. So far, Bitcoin investment history is sound and clear about investing in Bitcoin with regards to profit making. Bitcoin remains an asset that if invested on (long-term) it will give all advantages it carries including profit definitely and that is why such news of Bitcoin is not a good asset is not already flying the street.
So no need bordering of the main reasons of investing in Bitcoin because long-term investment will to a high extent offer all the advantages of investing in Bitcoin just as Bitcoin long-term investment history already have it.
