I think that Flamengo might be the winners of this season this time because you know, they really played well last season. I was really impressed to see them play football at such a high level.

Flamengo is obviously one of the best teams if not the best team in Brazil. I really think that they are a class apart. There are very few teams in Brazil who can actually compete at the level as Flamengo. I really don't understand how they can not be one of the best in Brazil. Flamengo is the richest club (2,692 billion of reais) and the one with most fans (40 million people), so indeed they have a lot of money to invest and a huge fanbase to support the club. They have some weak seasons, but in general Flamengo is one of the strongest brazilian teams with a decent tradition along the years.

This is not a rule, but we cannot underestimate certain teams, because if in a certain championship the team does badly, in another it can do much better, so several variables need to be analyzed.

For example, this season Flamengo could do poorly in the Rio de Janeiro championship (state championship in Rio de Janeiro), but it could be among the 3 placed in the Brasileirão, but it could reach the Libertadores final.

I believe the main difficult for Sao Paulo is the lack of financial resources to invest on the team, but they still can expect something from the newbies coming from the club's training center futurely.

Also, Sao Paulo has the argentinian striker Jonathan Calleri, who is helping the club a lot, with 5 scores in 10 matches, including the goal which guaranteed the victory against Corinthians on the Campeonato Paulista.
