So the question is(What do you think about gambling? Is it a fun ? Or a threat.

I personally don't see gambling as a threat simply because I have my limit on gambling and I'm not addict, its more fun for me especially if you are going to play on casinos since online gambling is not that fun. If you are going to treat gambling correctly, you wont regret it since you can also win on gambling but don't expect too much from it. Gambling becomes a threat if you forget to control yourself, that's too risky.

I admit I don't have any specific amount that will only be put in gambling. As long as I think I can gamble more, I will do it. There's also an experience wherein I feel like I'm lucky that's why regardless of my budget, I will still do gambling.

And "invest" might not be the appropriate term to use in that famous quote if regards gambling.

Why are you even considering gambling as an investment lmao. That's just dumb. It should be considered whatever money you have in gambling as lost money already, nothing more, nothing less. Sure, if you won, it's pretty nice and you'd have more funds, but that's being optimistic. Always assume the worst-case scenario, especially in gambling where the odds are stacked mostly against you.

And on the topic of being a threat or fun, ofc it's fun. It's only a threat if you consider it as one really, it's a leisure activity and always will be. It only turns into a threat if you yourself actually make it into a threat, it's whatever we mold it to be as imo.

it is depend on how you treat the gaming and betting .

if you are just enjoying the games you played then that is FUN, but if you are turning into addiction then that is a Threat.

In my own opinion, gambling is fun. It is sort of like watching tv or playing online games but the possibility of winning money.It could be a threat if you dont know how to set your limits of how much money and time you can spend. Even if you have a large budget, it is a not a bad idea to set limits for yourself.

That is what gambling is all about if we only knows how a proper treatment for gambling.

It's fun if you gamble what you can afford to lose and you get away on it fully refreshed ready to be in the reality of life again, but if you can get the games away and you are concerned about your losses and you have the urge to get it back the next time, then you are in a threat of becoming a compulsive gambler and this is where gambling becoming dangerous to you and you have to analyze yourself to save yourself.

it's both. in my time here in the forum I've seen members post how they view gambling. some of them view gambling as a way to entertain themselves and some view gambling as a way to earn money.

as for my personal opinion. gambling will be fun if it is played that way(I for one view gambling as a way to wind up, waste some time, enjoy my time, and relieve some stress that builds up when working.). but it is also a threat or dangerous if you played it irresponsibly, making rash decisions when losing, etc...

"It's both" takes it straight to the point. Is alcohol fun or a threat? It is definitely both, it does depend on the individual person and the specific circumstances. Some people can deal with alcohol without any problems whatsoever. Drink one day, then don't drink for weeks, then drink again and have fun. Others get soaked into it and can't get away from it. There is only one answer and that is it is a two-sided coin. If one would ask the ultimate question that is only to be answered with a yes or no, and that question would be "if you had to choose, is it better to have gambling or to not have gambling?", I would say it is most likely better to not have it. Even if it is for the sake of saving those prone to getting addicted, it is probably better to not have it.

I am not aware of numbers, but it would be really interesting to know how many people can really handle it compared to those who can't, i.e., worsen their social and financial life substantially due to gambling.

There are so many things I think  about gambling.I see gambling as something the devil wants to use to frustrate  people who have chosen to make it a hobby.
Most atimes,even when you did not want to play again,in as much as you are still around that visinity,there is every tendency that you will still play again,and it seems to me that there is a spirit behind it.
Gambling is something one cannot just control with his natural power,it is very bad to get addicted to gambling.

unfortunately we have to admit that a lot more people are losing money in gambling and few people are making money for this reason gambling should only be seen as fun, they are not meant to make a profit to pay bills, it doesn't work. all money that a person puts into gambling, the person must take into account that it is lost money, of course it may happen that the person wins and has money, but one must always think that it is lost money

Agree with your mind because making much money is not worth with gambling and become new way to be richest with gambling is bullshit, maybe some gambler why active in gambling because have try to fun and waste time after busy with working in real business try to refresh their mind with gambling. I admin for every one try to make gambling as passive income is not worth any more because not guarantee you can be richest in gambling, just the owner and gambling developer become richest and you as player in gambling never have higher dreaming to be success and richest with gambling.

For me it's fun as long as never being an addicted and ruin the life then gambling should be considering as entertainment activities and according to my own experience during gambling i can enjoy every games i played although sometimes i was being upset because of lost but after leave the game i can forgot my losses

Many people play gambling initially just for fun, but without realizing it gambling will also be a threat if we can't control a good way of thinking when facing defeat, such as continuing to place bets even though we only have a little money left and in the end we have to lose everything.

It is just a form of entertainment. Think of it like a pay to play game. An expensive form of entertainment. The profits are just bonus. As long as you are enjoying (even the losses) and you are in control, not greed, then everything is fine. But if greed takes over and the person becomes addicted, then it is no longer okay for that person to gamble. It's wrong to gamble with the hope of getting rich overnight or thinking that it will help you pay your bills. It's also wrong to gamble when you can't afford to lose money. So long it doesn't affect you or people around you, you can keep gambling.

This is a very subjective topic for me because not all of the gamblers sees differently when it comes to gambling.
If you will ask a gambler who won many times in lets say Poker, he will say that gambling is fun because he gained profits from it. On the other hand though, if you will ask a gambler who lost so much that it changes his way of living, he sees it as a threat or more of a dilemma at least because of what happened to him.

As for me, I see gambling a threat more than fun or entertainment. Its obvious that there are many losers than winners in gambling. The owner of the casino doesn't lose money and most of the time they are winning because there are more losers than winners. I see gambling as a threat because of its negative effects that sometimes changes lives of some gamblers. Yes there are some gamblers who changed their lives positively with the help of gambling but there are more who changed negatively.

This is also the reason why I'm still ok whenever I gamble. Whenever I gamble, I consider that amount as a lost funds already because most of the time I'm losing so... yeah that is how I'm thinking whenever I'm gambling that is why when I lose my money I'm ok and will never feel anything.

If we talk about gambling in general without including poker, I see it more negative than positive, because it can serve as entertainment but there is a clear risk. If you are the owner of a casino it is positive, if you are a gambler more potentially negative.

If we include poker, sports betting and any other game where you can win money in the long run, I see it as positive in general, because apart from entertainment, you can also win money and you will have to develop certain skills such as patience, calculation of probabilities, bankroll management, etc.

Admit it or not, majority of us here gamble to win money, simply as that.

That's why there are a lot of us who turns into gambling addict because we wanted to win more and chase money and that's where the addiction kicks in.

So it's going to be very difficult, unless you have self control when you started your gambling journey, but then again, I doubt that is the case.

Everything is gambling! Every decision we make, every move we make its gambling! We gamble all the time, and most people don't even realize that! We all want more, we want things, and we invest what we have (including our body) and what we know to get more, and for sure we all have secure and risky ways how to get to that more!

So when you ask is it fun or a threat I can ask the same about life?! Is life fun or a threat? Of course, it's both, we (normal/ordinary/majority) all have periods of one or another, and we have people who have gone further, whose life is all about fun or neverending threat... When you go out on the first date and you try to kiss a girl is a risky action in the hope of a desired result! So it's logical to think that good preparation can make your chances for success a lot higher, without it, you can get slapped!

It's always about the approach and how you learn to do something... gambling games are no different, many of us gamble for decades without any problems! We simply know how this game works, we know our limits and goals and we simply enjoy that kind of entertainment! We have very different opinions are far as the definition of gambling. There could be playing for some and just gamble money that they can afford to lose. And there is those addicts who will gamble all the money they have, win or lose.

And then there are casual gamblers, who just want to have some fun, passing some time or betting on their favorite team. But at the end, it's a risk, and all of us are willing to take it.

If money is not involved in gambling then probably gambling industry might be doing similar to how video games are doing these days. So, money is the biggest differences between other fun providing entertainments and gambling. So, if you honestly do not seek money then you can easily enjoy with lots of other things like watching movie or playing with friends or going for adventurous trips.

Personally I do gamble as per mindset. I gamble for all day if I wish or I may stay away from it for months. I guess I already got addicted to the  thrills of gambling but fortunately I am able to control myself for not touching it for months. I am just waiting for vacation time to enjoy gambling but I guess I need to wait 3 more months for that.

No, I disagree. It doesn't have to expensive for one to gamble, as long as the casino you're gambling at doesn't require that much in minimum deposit, you can gamble at that threshold and that's affordable one. That's why I disagree and it doesn't really have to be that expensive just as what you're saying. If $5 is too expensive for you then that's cheap for the majority and with such amount, you can already enjoy and have fun.
