This is really a good move for more crypto adoption but you should consider the government rules and regulation about cryptocurrency and the cost of transaction fee for every cup of coffee. Bitcoin transaction fee is too high, I don't think if people choose to pay with bitcoin in just a cup of coffee.

I wish you success in your venture! From what I understand Nigeria is not very welcoming toward cryptocurrencies, but maybe thanks to people like you that attitude may change at some point!

It's better before making a decision to use bitcoin as a means of paying for your coffee, you must first understand state policies before being penalized. if your country does sanction the use of bitcoin as a medium of exchange, I think Op's policy is very good with paying for coffee with bitcoin.
Regulations in each country are different. but if what happens is an agreement between the seller and the buyer of coffee for transactions using BTC I don't think it will be a problem. it's the same as when I go to a neighboring country for a vacation. but ran out of money and far from changing money. some sellers also accept money from my country. they said they could later be able to help exchange it. BTC regulations in each country are different. and it creates a dilemma for those who want to transact using bitcoin.

That's a good initiative from someone who supports blockchain and uses Bitcoin. It will be beneficial to your business as well as the crypto users in your community. If more people would have this kind of initiative, I'm sure that more will gain knowledge on how blockchain works in our daily lives. Most countries only need knowledge and awareness which could lead to crypto adoption in the future.

I find it amusing to see that third-world countries are starting to adapt and integrate BTC in their mode of transactions on payments. I just do not understand on why some first world countries are missing out in this opportunity, given that cryptocurrencies are starting to take over predominantly on the market. With your business model, how do you plan on receiving the payment on your end? Once the transaction has been confirmed, will that verify/imply that you have received the payment? My only comment with this would be the time when you receive such confirmation as this may create lines on the restaurant. Anyway, wishing you all the best on your business, OP.

The law in my country does not ban Bitcoin in totality but only cautions citizens against the risk in Bitcoin investment, but since we can build adequate knowledge about the crypto industry we will be to manage ourselves through the problems associated with Bitcoin.

I choose not to purchase disposable, single use items like coffee with bitcoin because I see the long term value of holding my BTC. Personally, I believe BTC will reach 100k in 2022 so purchasing coffee with crypto seems like a bad deal. On the other hand, I can understand buying items that you see as an investment with crypto. For example, I have friends that have bought smart phones or cars with BTC because those purchases can potentially give one the ability to earn more money.

I guess that's a good move If your goal is to spread Bitcoin adoption. This is one of the few effective ways to let the people be aware of the evolution in the financial field. I know accepting Bitcoin may not draw many people to dispose fractions of their Btc for a cup of coffee, though there will be a handful I think who loves to experience paying with Btc for something, but this will be a huge step towards mass adoption. Now, let's get down to how are you going to handle the terms of payment? Do you need full confirmation in blockchain or you release the product as long as the payment is pending in the blockchain?

In contrast, looking at another topic about coffee and crypto the first things posted where the location and picture of the menu. Makes you really wonder, is this so-called coffee shop even real?

The Bitcoin transaction in Nigeria has not been implemented, Central Bank Of Nigeria still kick against bitcoin operation in Nigeria in times of founding and withdrawal into various local bank. If not the second option Binance Exchange brought towards operation peer to peer (P2P) payment. Nevertheless, opening a Coffee shop using bitcoin and other alt-coins as a means of payment is a very good one to let people know about bitcoin as a digital asset in the country where you can used and pay anything in the world.
Have been reading the comments and everyone kept saying that the government in Nigeria is not in support of cryptocurrency, hope that she wouldn’t run into any problem while running a coffee shop that allows payment with the use of cryptocurrency? Unless maybe their government would not have any problem with someone who is running peer to peer transactions? If that’s the case then she’s not going to have any problem with them at all. But in the case that they are totally against its use in the country and doesn’t want to see it being used in any way at all, then she would have to be very careful. But I believe that it is not a big issue, since she’s living there and she knows what’s best.

socializing what crypto is to the public is the main thing, and we need knowledge that is quite relevant and easy to understand if visitors ask, and you need a payment platform to make it easier for you to transact crypto, Lastly I want to ask if you are ready to have your bank account searched by the government

To adopt bitcoin as payment method for your business only isn't enough right now, because the adoption by potential customers is too low yet.
You also need to launch campaigns promoting bitcoin in your area together with your coffee shop or offer some interesting promotions and discounts for those who pay with bitcoin. This way people will feel incentivized to use btc as currency, so you will have the customers you are looking for.

Mass adoption is becoming more and more common. This shows that bitcoin is a useful digital asset and an optional payment tool. People who are interested in making payments with bitcoin or other altcoins will certainly try this option even if it's just paying for coffee using bitcoin. Regarding how to handle payment terms, of course, full blockchain confirmation is the main requirement, because the transaction must actually be successful. Many third party platforms provide bitcoin or crypto payment methods for your shop or business, and it will be easier.

Glad to hear it, the more bitcoins are used as payments at the coffee shop the better utility bitcoin has as a way of introducing bitcoin to the world. I appreciate what Nigeria has be done, although there are still pros and cons, but that is the process of how crypto's existence survives

that's very good. a very good start by opening a business by accepting bitcoin as payment. it will attract entrepreneurs, or other visitors to use bitcoin, and may feel that bitcoin can be a very effective alternative. however, in every business it may not work, especially if they also feel that bitcoin is very important to them, so they tend to hold onto their assets rather than exchange them. however, sooner or later, they will surely exchange the coins they have for coffee, sooner or later.

I thought that the government in Nigeria has banned every operations that has to do with cryptocurrency? Because I saw the news, I think that was around last year or two years ago when they were even threatening to close down the accounts of people who were caught making use of cryptocurrency. So, the only option that is available there now would be peer to peer method of trading and transactions, and I have heard that exchanges like Paxful and Local Bitcoin has been the trend since others that were centralized were banned from operating in the country.

Very interesting to know how you can operate a coffee shop in a country where cryptocurrency is banned and will also want to know the location of this coffee shop too as that will give credibility to this story as other members have also requested may be a government paper or certificate of operation will clear the air on this and will help promote your new coffee business.

Quite odd that a business do able to operate despite on a country or place on which crypto is banned or prohibited. If thats the case then i wouldnt be surprised if this business would close out anytime soon, once there would be someone who will know that you are dealing with crypto but if not then thats a sure add up or option for those who do make use of their crypto and applying it on some utility like on this one.Is it true that to add up some credibility of this info that this shop do exist then saying up some location and actual pictures would be appreciated.
