Today I just opened my storage where i buy and stored most of my crypto coin and the rest I noticed have almost lost 60% of all my asset in dollars so I was tempted to sell off all and take a look at the market to know if there will be corrections, though I have been monitoring the market but I m not really convinced so I decided to share here to know whether I could get some people who  knows about the market to give a little breakdown before I go into such decisions.
I will really appreciate then i can know the reason for such action and decrease in most of the currencies especially BTC and BNB.

From other telegram group i joined they said BTC is likely to get to $29k and you know what will happened to altcoin as well? As it is always said Bitcoin remains the market propellers meaning if bitcoin goes so down then i lost 70% to 80%.
Well i will watch for only today to see how the trend goes before taking any decision at the moment.

The war between ukraine and russia triggering so many bad sentiment in the stock and crypto market even dow jones was also decreasing along with the cryptocurrncy which is correlated with it too. People are getting scared to see the market and then they are doing dumping to their assets as a part of their preparation when the war will be happening and to be honest this may become a long term journey with the bearish market but for me this is the best time to buy from the market. i lose a lot but im not missing this golden opportunity to buy more tokens from the market.

I will say that the 4 year cycle is still in effect, so base on that, I will say that we are indeed in a long bear market that could last 2-3 years.

This appears to be the natural cycle of Cryptocurrencies.  At this point, for most of Altcoin holders it would make no sense to sell anyway.  The loss is too large for a sell to be worth it anymore.

I learned to forget about my investments and kept it this way for years.  You never know when a market makes a comeback and from my own experience I know that I feel more worried after I sell on a loss than I feel when I keep my Cryptocurrencies and hold on to them.  Imagine selling on a 60 percent loss and waking up tomorrow with the markets making a 15 percent recovery.  You would feel bad that you sold, would you not?

Learn to invest decent amounts of money rather than extreme and learn to forget about the investment.  In these tough times, the weak will transfer their money and assets to the strong.  Of course, this is not financial advice but a personal opinion.

Well the price drop that you witnessed today a few hours ago was because of the russian invasion of the Ukraine. This news immediately caused the financial market to drop including the traditional stock market and not only the crypto market. Of course the crypto market always drops the heaviest when stuff like that happens but that should not be to surprising to anyone. I think you did well to not sell off your coins as you would have probably sold them at the bottom. Now that the initial shock and reaction of this news of the invasion is over i don't think we will see another sharp drop of the prices soon, except there will be another surprising turn of events for the worse.

I feel you mate because it's really hard to see most of our investment are really decreasing value in such situation especially if the situation is getting worst.

But we still have chance to regain our losses as long as we keep holding mate, so i suggest don't sell because as usual these always a temporary situation as it's part of the cycle of the market..

I think it is already too late to sell altcoins. They are so deep, that the amount you get for them will be laughable, compared to what you could have gotten. Your only strategy right now is to wait. And your best strategy in the past was either to sell with loss (selling now will make you bankrupt), or make serious research before buying, that will prevent such tempting to sell situation to happen. Best option right now is to wait, rest from crypto and seek for alternative source of work or income. That will kill temptation of selling and you will get new experience or skills.

Yes, very good advice and I've also changed a lot of all the assets I own into stablecoins so there's nothing important that I need to think about now that all my assets are in stablecoins which obviously will never lose to keep in the long term.

If you lost 60% of your portfolio in dollars, that must mean you either invested in real shitcoins or pretty much at the peak of the rally. Both are bad. And unfortunately, that's how it is for many who got caught up in the fomo and were still investing when many experienced investors had already secured their profits long ago. I can only advise you to wait until a bottom is reached. At the moment, there are too many crises, whether Russia-Ukraine or monetary policy. After that, I would get back in and try to make up for the losses. But you must not forget that 60% loss means that you have to make about 120% profits to make up for this loss.

It may not be wise to sell off now. You could've done it 2 or 3 months ago but now with this bear market, all you could do is keep it or save yourself from losing more if you feel like there is no future for it. Because there is really no telling where all of this would go.

IMO, I believe that no matter what happens it's your own call to do anything with your own crypto holdings and if you want to sell it at loss then let it be, but just remember that the concept of holding is to endure everything that might happen in the market and just keep believing that one day the market will be good enough to generate some profit through your crypto holdings but also consider that not all cryptocurrencies will survive if the next crypto winter will arrive just like the magnitude of 2018-2019 respectively so just be wise and made up your mind. whether you sell and save the remaining part of your investments or hold all the way for the next bull season it's your own decision to make and good luck!

Selling at 60% loss is worst decision, whether you have to wait until the price recover or accept the loss and move on. If we are talking about Bitcoin I will definitely say keep holding but we are talking about altcoins in general so it really depends on the coins in your portfolio, if you don't see any future in that coin then better secure the remaining 40% capital.

It's still unknown but everyone could tell that we're likely in a bear period. By how the market looks right now, that's how it is. And with the war that's also happening, this is making everyone panic that it may affect the market despite the differences of it from the casual market that we're with.
If you're going to sell at 60% loss and put that into bitcoin, that's the biggest chance that you might recover but in an unknown period of time. You should be open of being long on it if done.

Decreases don't always happen, there will definitely be increases. So far the graph goes zig zag. I'm sure you know how the cycle goes.

Didn't you invest what you were able to afford to lose? Then why are you worried about the 60% drop of your assets? You shouldn't sell (unless you really need the money, but then again, you shouldn't have invested those money in the first place) anything. Keep holding until the bear market ends. Look at the charts and you will see that market crash like these happens, but eventually the price starts to recover again. As long as you aren't holding some shitcoins, you are fine. If those are some shitcoins, sell as soon as you can.

well, it's not just your assets that have fallen so deep, in fact almost everyone holding crypto will have the same result. personally, I even fell more than 60% of the assets I held. however, beforehand, I had prepared myself with this. Unfortunately there are still some people who think that the war could cause it to go down even more. That is not a world war and it is impossible to happen, other allied countries know that there will be an economic crisis when then there is a war.
However, if OP means selling his altcoins and reinvest in bitcoin is a good idea.

Classic story, but don't be discouraged because you got a good experience. Further, there will be more small rises and falls in the price, but I think that the general vector will be directed downwards in order to force investors like you to sell your crypto assets. In your case, you need to analyze each token and make a decision.

You have to remember what your initial purpose of investing in crypto, if to make a profit why should you sell it when the price is low.
Market declines in the crypto world are common and will definitely happen again and again, so there's no need to panic if your assets drop to 60%.
Because as long as you invest in potential coins, you don't have to worry, the price of the coins you have will recover and even go up much higher.
One of the keys to successful investing in crypto is patience, so be patient with holding the coins you have until the market is bullish again.

I feel what your feel mate, to sell was your choice but first, you also have to think what will be the results with this. Because losses can be possible if you sell them below the buying price and I think it was not a good idea either.

Losing 60% from your investment is really huge and I could say it was a wrong decision but sometimes this gonna happen especially if you are investing in those non-profitable coins as these coins will surely dump badly if the market turns bearish. But I think holding may help however, your emotion has been so strong that you were not able to stop it which lead to selling.
You have to think that the volatility of the market, may we see dumps but this never looks like that forever, it recovers back again which is why holding is very important.

60% down is not good but you need to evaluate coins and check what went wrong and if there's a chance for a rebound I also have coins right now and in the past that was downed 60% but eventually recovered after their platform and mainnet was launched, 60% down in the bear market is still acceptable as long as the developers are dedicated and the platform and mainnet are still in the developing stage, it's different if the platform and mainnet are already working but not getting support from the developers.

well, if it was a popular altcoin it would be great to keep it on hold. however, it's different if it's an unknown altcoin, it could probably be a rug pull, or something. Well, currently there is a down trend that makes altcoin prices mostly go down. however, if it's a popular altcoin, I'm still not tempted to sell it, even more so if it's 60% down. however, instead of worrying about it, you should limit your losses, maybe every 10% drop, you sell your assets immediately. it's better than waiting up to 60% and being tempted to sell it.

Most of us are hurt by the current market, but if you can hold why not. I consider this normal and I have failed moves like that already for how many times. I sold some of my top 10 alts because the market was not okay. I was tempted but in the end regretted the decision, because if I have waited just for a month things would go different and I could've earn bigger rather than cut my loses. I don't think this is the right time to sell altcoins that are filled in wallets anymore. I myself for a time like this are more confident to hold it, the estimated diminishing assets in the wallet does not make me think of selling, because it will lose everything if the future altcoin price continues to improve. If you lost 60% of your portfolio in dollars, that must mean you either invested in real shitcoins or pretty much at the peak of the rally. Both are bad. And unfortunately, that's how it is for many who got caught up in the fomo and were still investing when many experienced investors had already secured their profits long ago. I can only advise you to wait until a bottom is reached. At the moment, there are too many crises, whether Russia-Ukraine or monetary policy. After that, I would get back in and try to make up for the losses. But you must not forget that 60% loss means that you have to make about 120% profits to make up for this loss.

Though I sold and buy back when it was deeper so I tried to make back little profit before the market bounce back. I just used smart techniques to cover up some of my lose alongside the the down trends.

However, if you think that their value have been constant for years and have stayed in a low value, i guess selling off is not that bad provided that you'll buy back good and potential coins. If the war continues for a long time, that means more sanctions for Russians and that means worse economical conditions for the everyday Russians. The whole economy may or may not get impacted, but individuals will definitely have a bad time, even if they are wealthy. We saw the results with more and more Russians buying crypto as well and that is very important for our future.

So, if the war continues then we are going to see crypto prices soaring a lot more. I believe that even if the war ends, we are going to see a lot better results for sure. That's the type of deal we have in crypto, we are going up one way or another unless manipulation happens.

Honestly without knowing which coins it will be tough to Guage what you should do.  Some alts are worth holding.  But I'd say for the most part we are sliding into a bear market and alts haven't been stripped down down.  They taken some falls sure since November but the bottom definitely isn't in.  The economies effects haven't hit the crypto yet but once housing starts diving things will start to spiral and people will be forced to exit positions in frivolous altcoins to cover real world stuff.  I wouldn't hold too much.

The market was (still is) rough around the time this post was made i actually took the 60% loss and was fuck it now that 60% would have been more like 70% but i feel like selling now would be a really bad move even tho it's half a month later. We've been in pain for quite some while now the more pain you feel the closer we are to actually getting out of it, atleast that's how i look at it. I cashed out my old projects that have been in a steady decline for 6-7 months and i'm thinking about going for #Lunafi for promising to bring safe gambling with low gas fees to metaverse due to being built on Polygon, sounds really dope i don't like $ETH gas prices at all can't wait to plug in my vr and go exploring. The other one i  stumbled upon was $ENGN which is gaming studio token that makes implementing blockchain technology onto non-blockchain projects possible without having to rewrite the base code, plus they got a new game around the corner that's simply reminds me of buffed Fortnite. Any suggestions on my choices or any other projects to keep an eye out ?

Exactly what you said. Decide for yourself about something we want to sell because we ourselves that know and are sufficient about the profits we get from owning crypto coins. If there are a lot of outside suggestions, it will affect the decisions we will make which will lead to something we don't want, for example if the price continues to fall which causes big losses. So we tend to be lazy and don't want to do research and will always depend on other people's opinions which are not necessarily applicable.

Exactly what you said. Decide for yourself about something we want to sell because we ourselves that know and are sufficient about the profits we get from owning crypto coins. If there are a lot of outside suggestions, it will affect the decisions we will make which will lead to something we don't want, for example if the price continues to fall which causes big losses.
