Hope the fight doesnt end like how we expect Shakur to lose because Valdez is the most experienced between them. Canelo for sure is the best we know but if turn out Bivol knocking out Canelo, were once again lose another week's pay from sig campaign lol. Had the hard time accepting the fact that Valdez lose.

Anyway, Canelo still is the most power puncher in the class. Wish us all good luck. 3 more days to go.
Lose another week's pay from signature campaign, haha you got me there! Lol.

Anyways, we already know that Canelo is not the type to be overconfident of his strengths or even underestimated his opponents. The man have his own style inside the ring before he makes his move because he surely knows that Bivol is not an easy opponent to deal with as he is the defending champion of this division while Canelo is only a guest.

Lol, don't rub it in,  Grin. I guess many of us lost some money on the Shakur vs Valdez fight.

But I do agree that Canelo didn't reached this position because he takes his opponent lightly. He knows that every boxer he fought has a chance to beat him so he trains hard and not underestimated his opponents. There is no animosity between the two in the face off though, unlike his previous fights in Plant and BJS wherein there is a lot of trash talk and we've seen Canelo break down this two boxers.
Sorry I cannot help myself from laughing, he really got a point though Grin

I somehow expected that their face-off will not be that intense as these boxers are really professional enough to show some courtesy and respect from one another as they are both champions in their respective divisions but this time as I said, Canelo is the visitor of the defending champion which is Dmitry Bivol. Anyways, the fight is now fast approaching, I hope we can see a tough long fight and of course an entertaining one.

Canelo is favorite in this fights, but I don't like low odds for him, and Bivol is undefeated fighter so I expect this to be interesting fight.
There is Sportsbet sponsored prediction competition for this fight Canelo vs Bivol, so you can make your picks and win free bets.
You can find this topic in Games and rounds and participation is completely free: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5397177.0
This is quite reasonable indeed for Canelo because he is indeed a favorite there so it is not wrong for the dealers to do that considering that even though their opponents are bivols who are still providing the best battle and now but still he is an underdog in this battle that makes Bet not too profitable .
But honestly this is too small for Canelo now: D

Even the hall of fame and former middleweight champion and promoter Bernard Hopkins doesn't give Bivol a chance to win against Canelo, he considers this fight a mismatch

Quote
Hopkins is not giving Bivol a chance

“This is a combination of a Philadelphia & New York mugging at 12:oo p.m. with no lights outside,” said Bernard Hopkins to Fighthype about Saturday’s fight between Canelo Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol.

I hope all these predictions that it will be an easy fight are not true and instead will turn out to be a highly competitive one of course with Canelo winning the fight, but I'm not counting Bivol out maybe we'll see the biggest upset to happen, who knows.

Can Bivol change this expectation once inside the ring?
Another couple of days, and we will be watching this fight to reality.
Many are underestimating Bivol, but with the challenges he is facing, I believe, he is motivated to do his best in this fight.
So let us watch this fight and see if Bivol doesn't really have the chance with Canelo.

Bivol should really do his best to erase the doubts of the majority. Only a few are picking him to win the fight.

Another famous boxer before, Ricky Hatton says that no one can currently beat Canelo Alvarez in his league. He is beyond his prime and there's no doubt about that. If Bivol will make an upset, that will be a big recognition to him and he will put Canelo on missing their trilogy with GGG.

Just around a day and we will now be able to see the result of this fight.

^^ Yeah, it's hard to read the body language of a fighter if he is intimidated or not. But this is boxing, so for sure you have to think that you want to take the head of your opponent during stare downs,  Grin

But just like the rest who voted in this poll, Bivol is the underdog and it seems boxing fans are not giving him the chance to topple the king yet.

Does the face off matter whether who is intimidated?

I think so, a little. Final weigh-ins are normally done one day before the fight. So if you could effectively intimidate or even affect the mind of your opponent on that day, your opponent could not easily adjust anymore because it is going to be the fight day the next day. If you successfully get into the mind of your opponent at weigh-in, that might cause him a little trouble, perhaps in his sleep or whatever, that could affect him the following day.

I doubt that, they are professional and before they accept the fight, they know already what their opponent can do. The real battle is in the ring, and both boxers believe that they can win, but like any other competition, it's the better player that will win.

No, even professionals are affected by emotions. The moment any kind of emotion gets the better of the opponent, it will affect him. So it doesn't have to be fear. It could be anger or too much eagerness. So for example a fighter gets pushed hard, kissed, spit at, or shoved with a banana in his mouth during the stare down, different emotional reactions could get into him. And that happens on the night before the fight day. It could somehow psychologically affect him, or his most precious resting time, or even his fight the following day. It could bring him to really hurt or try knock out his opponent right in the first round out of anger. So these things could actually distract him and bring him out of the game plan.

^^ Yes, this is called a psyche war, who ever breaks into the final stare and not feeling comfortable "might" be intimidated, that's why we've seen fighters pushing each other in the final weigh-in.

But it's just matter of days, it will be decided this weekend, checking the current odds, Canelo is still the outstanding favorite, 1.19 ML.

This is what I'm trying to drive up, if you could have even for a brief moment see that your opponent is intimidated, you already score some points. Even in non contact sports, let's say body building. Flexing your muscles in front of your opponents might terrify them and it could haunt them during the competition. And that's why in boxing, trash talking, another form of intimidation is common even before the actual fight.

Can we please switch from discussing how cool Canelo is and why there must be a third fight against GGG, to who Dmitry Bivol is ? Everyone here talk like Canelo has already won. Bivol is not a boy for beating. Bivol has successfully defended his WBA lightheavy title 3 times. That is something to take into consideration.
~

But in fact, judging by the quotes of the bookmakers, it is. Canelo is such a clear favorite that boxing fans are already ready to discuss possible next fights than this "determined" fight. Of course, Bivol is not an easy opponent and not a bag whose probability of winning is zero, but if you look objectively, his chances are more like a lucky punch than winning the fight as a whole.
that's obvious because in this match Bivol is still labeled as an Underdog now even though his abilities are extraordinary but indeed it's still not enough to equalize with Canelo now.
Canelo has now gone through 60 international fights including 57 wins, 2 draws and one loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Bivol is arguably a newcomer when compared to Canelo then it's quite clear that he is very favored by the bookies

I don't think we have seen Canelo as the underdog in fight maybe except for the Floyd Mayweather because he is still relatively unknown that time.

But his records now speak for himself, from 154 lbs to 175 lbs, he has conquered a lot of divisions and beat champions along the way. He is still 4:1 favorite as per bookies right now. Bivol is good but he doesn't have the skills to beat Canelo, but he can give Canelo problems early and then Canelo adjusting.

Well let's hope so, the truth is that Canelo would win to see if we can see him against GGG, if he wins, I think the chances of that fight will increase significantly, on the other hand, the Russians are very strong when it comes to fight, they by nature have exquisite technique, and clearly Bivol wants to take advantage of this fight to see if he can rise to fame and open his doors for the best fights, obviously it will bring him a lot of money and range, as long as I think that It is what Bivol is looking for, he knows very well that if the results are given, it will happen.

^^ And just like before him (Manny Pacquiao), Canelo is now the ticket to stardom if you beat him, and then the money that you are going to make, they called it sweepstakes.

So it's Bivol time to see if he can win and pull the biggest upset this year. Maybe if he don't put too much pressure on his shoulder and just box the way he does, maybe this will not be a one sided and could give Canelo a good fight until Canelo adjusted.

Compared to Canelo's last fight this fight is really stress-free for both camps no thrash talk no pushing, and there's mutual respect for each other it's been a long time since I've seen Canelo calm and no anger on their conferences and face-off, we hope there's a lot of action when they meet inside the ring compared when they meet outside the ring, hope they are in the best form of their fighting career, of course, Canelo will win this easily.

During faceoffs, Canelo does not look like he is from a lighter division. Bivol has a bit height advantage, Canelo is more wide in shoulders.

For this fight, Canelo would put 15 millions in his wallet, Bivol just 2. But, they will also split 70/30 PPV shares. This is a lot, but not the largest fee Canelo gets. He got 12 millions for a fight against Mayweather for example and 40 against Caleb Plant.

You should check his training and conditioning on Youtube he may be light but his power is awesome he has no problem adding weight and going back to a lighter weight division

But he will add to his records an undefeated world champion, more money will come later the biggest money will come after this fight probably against Golovkin, it could become his biggest paycheck.

I definitely agree, both have something big to lose here and accepting the fight means that they already know the capabilities. As I saw their final presscon few hours ago, I can say that there will be no mind games on their face-off or any intimidation while trying to get in each other's head and actually they are being respectful to one another, that only shows how professional these two boxers are. I'm quite surprised though that Dmitry Bivol knows how to speak English, haven't expected that.

Bivol should really do his best to erase the doubts of the majority. Only a few are picking him to win the fight.

This will be a hard fight for Dmitry because if we see how Canelo has won his past fights then we will realize how this will be an easy one for him.

I just take a look at oddsshark and they say:

Canelo Álvarez   1.25
Dmitry Bivol   3.75

So, 1.25 isn't bad at all when we talk about easy money.

Whether or not this can be proven in the ring later. apart from that there is nothing wrong with Hopkins' statement because Hopkins knows the capacity of Bivol and knows the capacity of Canelo. Obviously this is quite a stark difference but now the game is almost over and Bivol will have to give it their all and go the extra mile if they are to change the Stigma given to them.

Bivol is a champ in many boxing championships in which he'd been training in the US for a long time. he must have learned well including English. this is not the kind of boxer that hasn't faced intimidating boxers. pulling an upset might be difficult for him to achieve as he is facing Canelo. but i would be happy to get my winnings Smiley

its just small amount actually but whoever wins, i will enjoy the rumble.
