Firefox ? Chrome ? Brave ?

<..................>

It is difficult to say which is more secure because they are all world-class browsers. But in this list, only Brave is the browser that is concerned with security, but all the other browsers are only focusing on the best browsing experience for users. Though this does not imply that they are not secure; they are, in fact, secure; however, when it comes to blocking several back ads and cookies, brave comes out on top.brave comes with the same concept. This is really it. Now comes to the topic of what I am using. I am using Brave and Edge browsers because they are light for my laptop. And I avoid Chrome because it runs in the background constantly and uses so much background data. That's my overall opinion. Thank you.

Kinda worried because all of them try to collect information about your activities online. I've purchased BitDefender AntiVirus, and taken some other precautions but... can never be too careful as they say.

I think you should also check out the Opera crypto browser. Its also very interesting project and looks very cool. I am not sure about it security and data collection, but overall it looks cool.

Okay, thanks people ! I'm going to try Chrome or Firefox based on your feedback here. I will educate myself on browser security some more as well, as I've never really used MetaMask before. I have only used PayPal, and already got some scammer contacting me through e-mail about my PayPal account. They claimed to be from PayPal ( had proper logo and looked legit ) but when I followed through ( not clicking on their fake links of course ) I confirmed they were try to scam me. Incidentally I also got someone trying to scam me through facebook, told me about some amazing DeFi project that turned out to be a scam. No, i didn't invest in it, I'm fairly thorough with my research and nothing gets past me.

I wish I could use a hardware wallet but as I said, I've checked all of them out, they only support some of my coins. Now that I will try DeFi, I will get even more exotic coins that nobody's ever heard of so zero confidence in hardware wallets.
All you have to do is not to connect your MetaMask wallet to a site that asks you to do so, and if you are a fan of participating in airdrops and bounties, you can use a new wallet address other than your main address where you store your tokens, and you must be careful that after you connect your wallet to one of the sites, you must read The message you receive from MetaMask well before you approve the transaction and you should save the exchange sites and wallets in the bookmarks and do not click on any suspicious sites.

In my opinion that if chrome is the only neutral browser. The best browser and this is the safest browser as well, easy for use with dapps in any platforms. In my opinion of chrome is the best one for the metamask compared with another browser. This browser is very light and it can process anything so fast. I meant the most responsive browser for me. I have been using this since a long time ago. I never had a problem and this caused by you must not interact with suspicious platform to connect with your metamask. In my opinion if anti virus has nothing to do with this.
The approval for the browser to collect your information totally depend with your choice

Using Ledger/Trezor doesn't necessarily mean that you cannot store whatever coins/token you are planning to buy.

These two hardware wallets can be used in conjunction with Metamask on your preferred web browser (I recommend Firefox), allowing the HW to generate a seed for you without it leaving the hardware wallet, rather than using the Metamask extension, which stores the seed somewhere in your /laptop. This is why using a hardware wallet in conjunction with Metamask is the most secure way to keep your cryptocurrency.

Metamask is only an extension wallet that can be used in browser applications, that means it is not a security issue of the browser you are using, but this is a limitation of metamask itself. Since metamask is just an extension so easy to use, but very security vulnerable, I think it's better to keep a few assets here. If we want to make assets safer, it is better to use a hardwallet such as Trezor, or Safepal Hardwallet.

personally, I use chrome. it is a very simple browser and quite comfortable to use. however, some people recommend using brave, because we can also produce bravecoin if we use it for a long time and it is quite compatible with the use of cryptocurrencies. however, I think, right now it's not good enough anymore. since the beginning I know the crypto world until now, I still use chorme and it is still very safe to this day.
well, as long as you don't click on random links, and don't get caught on scam sites, then I think it's safe.

Good point. By the way, I do have a Trezor, it does work like the Ledger device, and I got my seedphrase sorted already. So why won't I use it with MetaMask then ? Because just like Ledger, you need it to support the coin you are putting on the wallet or staking. Ledger Live only works with supported coins too. So what do you do if your coin is not supported ? I don't see how having a hardware wallet helps me there unfortunately. Several of my coins are not supported by either Ledger or Trezor, so I will just use the MetaMask wallet.

Yes, all browsing applications keep a history of what we did with the cookie system they developed. But the history is stored on Google not on the application. So google can't possibly spy on our poor metamask wallet. Lol
So, don't worry too much about it.

Actually, I did check the Safepal HW list of supported coins just because I hadn't heard of Safepal before. It does look as though they support all of my assets, EXCEPT for Terra Luna, which currently makes up 52 % of my portfolio. So even though it looks promising, I am reluctant to use Safepal, as it has no support for my biggest asset. By the way, I did notice in their page that some coins only have the "Send / Receive " feature enabled, but not the "buy" or "swap". Does that mean I am unable to buy new tokens if I am using Safepal ? I thought the whole point of DeFi was so that we can buy or swap one kind of token for another ?

By the way, I don't think Safepal would be very useful for DeFi, since most DeFi pages only support Ledger Nano and Trezor ( sometimes only Ledger ) when they ask you to "connect hardware wallet".

Metamask is generally very safe, unless someone is snooping into your laptop using some Remote desktop software like TeamViewer there are no chances of theft from your wallet. Browsers might collect information but until installed from genuine source it won't snoop into you while writing your password to metamask, also even if it does, it won't be able to do a transaction on its own when your pc is left unattended, so in my opinion all the browsers are pretty safe in this context. Chrome Firefox brave and even Edge.

And I think it's also reasonable because Ledger Nano and Trezor are already much more popular and can also be widely connected to all existing programs today, although Safepal is here to complete that line of competition more easily and I think it's also not bad for Safepal.

You need to be more attentive to those many hack that happen, visiting unsafe sites or clicking malicious website

is more on your obligation. The browsers are still in your control unless someone has control or access to your device. Metamask
still safe using any browser as long as you keep your password away from other eyes.

Just like you, never open any suspicious website, hack begins from that simple click you are opening your door to a
potential hackers.

Usually my main browser is Brave since it supports crypto integrated with rewards in BAT tokens. I installed Metamask, Ronin and other wallets here, but this is still vulnerable if we are not careful on which sites are we connecting our wallets. Coz' there are some cases which these phishing sites are setting up "traps" that they can take away the funds from Metamask wallets even without the need of seed phrases or private keys.

If you want your funds to be secured, it's better you should invest in a hardware wallet like Ledger, Trezor, Safepal, SecuX, etc.

Quick question here: since I've already got a Trezor hardware wallet setup, could I "import my existing wallet" using the Trezor 12 word seed phrase ? Or should I just create a new wallet on Metamask, since many of my coins are not supported in Trezor ?

I recommend you can use Chrome browser. The Chrome browser is very safe and secure browser. You can install Chrome extension in your browser then use Metamusk.

Why not try it on the Tor browser. I had been using Tor and chrome as well. If you feel that you have a privacy issue, then better Tor. But always keep in your mind, it's important where have you been connecting your wallet. Make sure the website is safe, from the Tor end nothing wrong I found. Everything went fine even Tor and chrome. Always better to use your hardware wallet if you can afford it. So fund won't move without your device.

Firefox ? Chrome ? Brave ?

I used metamask (the same wallet) on all of them and I never had any problems with that! I used and I am using other extensions for some other coins as well, without any problems! Not just metamask for ETH, I have TronLink and Binance Wallet! I experimented with different browsers and all these wallets work perfectly fine for me on each browser!

I think we Firefox, Brave, and Chrome are ok, and I am sure they will be ok, but whoever seeks extra protections should use VPN first, maybe even TOR browser, but just for people who wish to be extra careful, if they have a good reason for that!
