We must teach our children the value of time, money and effort. Otherwise they can fall into wrong path easily and it might be damage their next 5-10-15 and even their life. Gambling is required some kind of patience and intelligence skills luck isnt enough only.

I am not sure about other community - but in our community parents have a  very strict  check on their kids. Even if kids play adult games they do it in hidden.
But replying to OP - I think the mobile phone and internet time should be controlled. Giving kids freedom of everything is inviting trouble!

I also have a strict parents and even my relatives, they don’t let their Children to expose much of their time on their mobile phones which I think is really good, I’m also living on a country where we don’t tolerate much of this thing but sometimes, things are really uncontrolled by the parents. Proper guidance is the key here, if they get exposed on gambling that could be a big trouble for the whole family.

Just avoid them on things which you do seem that would really potentially affect their future.It might not really be that perfect since we cant monitor them 24/7 and now that we are on a digital age where
everything could easily be accessed out which means that they are really that prone into different things not only on gambling but also in pornography which is something not that really
good to see if our kids do really make out some engagement like that.

As parents, keeping them under tight control can be both beneficial and harmful. Of course, it is impossible to keep them 7/24 under control. Neither they nor we are robots. I would have to partially disagree with some of what you said. For example the part with keeping children under tight control could be both beneficial and harmful. I doubt that this can be as beneficial as it is harmful.

While I completely understand and empathize with parents wanting the best possible security for their children, its just wrong to deny them the priviledge of learning from their own mistakes.

Thats how everyone grows up, making mistakes and learning from them. Thats the only way to become a better person.

Take gambling for example: once the child loses their monthly allowance, they will feel the consequences of their actions and no longer will want to lose money by gambling ever again. A parents nagging is a mere annoyance which might actually have the opposite effect and your kid will do bad things just to go against you.

I agree - there is a dire need to balance between the phone and life balance. But kids are adamant that they all need a smart phone.
My nephew who is 2 cries like crazy if someone takes the phone from his hand. But than again its important and kids should be kept away from the phone. It's a need of the time.

With the emergence of technology, it is but natural for kids to engage and use smartphones as their main source of entertainment. The problem with giving them such freedom and power is that they can be exposed to pornography and other negative elements that can effect their character development as a whole.

Like you guys mentioned, the key here is to balance the use of smartphones. You have to let your kids understand the dangers of visiting such websites as it will be inevitable for them to visit those sites. Though this can be remedied by intentionally blocking pornsites using a secured ISP or third-party service, this only offers a band-aid solution to the problem.

The best solution, personally, would be to properly educate your children. You just have to accept that there will come a time that they would visit those websites. But what happens after they visit such website would be your duty. If they inherently know that such is bad/destructive, then on their own volition, they would avoid visiting it again.

Our children will imitate us so we should set a good example so they will follow the right path. I believe that it would be better if we won't show them that we're gambling and explain them the risks of it. We can't have 100% control of their mobile phones but we should still guide them by explaining to them the risks of the choice that they're making. We always have a big role in the lives of our children.

^ That is the problem there is they already exploited or let say, they are already addicted, you can never stop them from with that matter but possible you can divert their attention into other activity like playing sports which are highly recommended. Try to search for parenting control in your internet provider, you can set a limit on when they will be connected to the internet without knowing them, and maybe they will think that your internet provider has a trouble because they can't able to connect.

If they become addicted, you may be able to stop them for a while with the help of your internet provider. But when he realizes that you have created this problem, he will try to find another way. Nowadays, we have to be twice or even thrice careful with what our kids do cause Internet is both a place where you can learn something or a place where danger accompanies you all you way you browse. My kids, one 10+ and others below 10, they are under my total internet control and I don't think I will let them use any social media until they are 18. Giving them the right clue is a good idea, but what I think is that they may be influenced by somebody else and you will not even know that.

It is ideal to use with the children protection of the application or the device we are using this will restrict the children to access the adult websites and application at the same time its good too, also as possible if the children are using with your devices don't link your cards because they can possibly click those advertisements and makes unexpected transactions. Always make monitoring to the children's activity and of course bonding is the most important so they are open to you and both each other.

This is parenting problems, maybe people can give opinions based on their actual experiences as a parent not just for theory and future plans for their future child.

As an uncle who sometime babysits my siblings' toddler it is really good to guide and supervised them all the times in any kind of games they are playing, it might not about addiction but their safety to avoid dangerous things which place them to risks. It's okay to experience them how to be hurt while doing things as a toddler but tell them that is not okay for them yet or etc. Giving them toys that is only for their age, go to places that is good for their age and anything that is only good for their age.

If you get my point from babysitting to gambling or gaming. This always have parallel inlines, gambling is not good for children below 18 years old, playing in smartphones always has age limits on any kind of games or apps to be played or used. If you can check the game or app in the google play store, you can see that the app is Rated X according to what category/age it suits and a guardian you should not to overlooked it.

Our community has a tight family bonding - and parent are very dominating and they are very dictating to. Unlike in west - where kids are free to choose what they will be doing - I our community most of the time parents choose what the kids will do. But now  when young generation is becoming parent they are more understanding - but parental control is there. like always!

We cannot completely stop our children from playing games on mobile or computers in this age. The only thing we can do is to teach and convince our children not to spend to much time on playing the games. Also, they should not play games that produce violence and crime.
I also tell children to play simple video games and not play gambling games that involve real money.

If I will become a parent, I will give my child the balance that is only needed. I will be strict at some things but I will give them freedom on other things too. So, watching them having an involvement to things like gambling and pornography is a serious matter. What I will do is that I will talk to them "heart to heart" and give them advices on the effects of these things.

i found out about adult content such as gambling and pornography when i was 12 years old, to be honest, i feel lucky i wasn't addicted and quit it so i can live a normal life at this age.  but there are some of my friends who are currently living in poverty because of addiction to gambling, drugs and prostitution.  keep an eye on your child's activities be it their smartphone or even their friends at school because it is very important.

Guidance is important from guardian or parent because this is where their kids should really know the reality even though we arent that perfect but at least we have done our responsibility.

Im trying to get rid for them to access social media as early as 10 years old and same as yours im tending to allow them when they are on the right age for them to involved on but it seems they do really been influenced

We should educate our family members about the negative effect of gambling, especially with our Children because they can’t afford to expose on that since they can’t still handle their emotion. We should always guide them and tell that gambling is not good at all. That's their parenting and they should be more delicate about what their children are installing on their smartphones or with the laptops or desktop computers.

It's true that it's okay to allow kids to play games at a regulated time but being free is going to make them curious to discover other things. And if it's about the casino, the casino won't know a user's age until they ask for kyc.

So basically, the kyc free casinos won't do it and the kids would be free to sign up and even steal money from their parents if they're not being monitored.
